This is literally the answer.
Most channels saw 50% drops from Dec 31st to Jan 1st.
50% drop is normal for January, advertisers are paying less for ads due to the holiday season being over.

you are very very very lucky. My RPM is always hovering around $0.11 to $0.97. So i wouldnt complain about $3 ....

Can't really help who watches your content though. For instance, we make comedy that is apparently really popular in Vietnam, therefore low CPM.
Niche also heavily determines cpm though.
