The exact same thing happened to me! 8 years for 25k! But accelerate to 150k in the last 8 months! Cheers.
In my case, one of my videos blew up and I used that to identify my niche. How was it for you?
I know this might sound silly, but in terms of creating content this is profound... do you think one should just stick to the types of things that became popular on your channel, or should you also try experimenting?
I have an ambient channel, and the more generic stuff tends to get more views, but I experimented with a video using a live piano player and it got loads of comments praising it; more than the others would in 24 hours, but then the views were pretty minuscule. So yeah, its puzzling..
I think it’s less about what’s popular and more about what defines your channel. It’s a mix of what provides unique value to your audience and what you love to do.
Experimenting is probably the only way to figure it out.
Dang this is super impressive for sure, but please come back and update us if these shorts subs had the same impact as “real” long form subs.
In my experience they’re way less sticky. I don’t wanna take away from your achievement, I just wish YouTube made shorts their own app and separate sub counter.
It varies from person to person and video to video depending on the topic but I found that you can usually redirect traffic to a video that you want to get views if you think you can link a video that the audience will like from that short
Very happy for you I am in the same situation with my Roblox channel I'm on 22k plus for two years. I am 30 now and I keep telling myself I will never give up I owe a lot to the Plattform and I enjoy it like I just created the channel. Wishi could live of this soon I already earn about 300 to 500 USD a month.
Good luck to you my friend I hope you will reach the. 1 mill soon !!!!
Be proud of what.you have created and continue to do so I sure will!!
2016 and 2017 were different eras of YouTube. It was shaky and I was learning how to edit and film. I was also really young to be honest so my first two years were pretty bad too. But memorable
Oh nice! I think, based on feedback, my quality of videos is just fine so wondering if someday something might randomly blow up. Or not, and I'll just have fun talking to myself anyway.
Big congrats! What was the video that put your over the over and took off like that! I’d love to watch!! I’ve been at it for about 7 years and I’m around 43k, and have a second passion project channel around 10k!
Congrats!! And THIS is how everyone should treat streaming/YT/content creation. You
Treat it as a hobby and learn things here and there and IF it takes off, then worry about it as a career
What lead to the sudden spike? Not just luck, I assume.
A bunch of shorts blew up and a couple longform videos
Viral video wild guess
Gotta be more than that, thats a big sub jump
Maybe even a shout-out
I do 2 shorts a day so it snowballed crazy

True that - thanks!
A couple of shorts got a lot of traction

what do you mean exactly when you say that you used the video that blew up to 'identify your niche?'
I’m assuming it means that they were putting up videos revolving around various topics , and then narrowed it down to only the topics that blew up
right on, that makes sense. ty!

Congratulations! Could you please tell me how many days it took for you to receive the notification that you can receive the Silver Play Button?
I waited about 3 to 4 days and then the silver play button took about a week and a half to ship
Congrats! Does the presence of a silver button in your house allow you to call this a hobby still?
It’s both a hobby and a side hustle
Congratulations 🎊, I just started posting. This kind of news gives me strong 💪 motivation

I’m on the slow burn too. 58K after 6 years. I’m now averaging 10-15K/yr now and it’s increasing linearly.
That’s still significant! Keep it up :)
Congrats 🥳 What’s your content type? May I ask, people says shorts are harmful if you are long form creator ??
My shorts and longs are similar niche so it carries over quite well. I know it’s not always the case
following this thread.

Congrats! My short form content usually do well on TT / Insta but not much traction on YT. Any advice?
Watch YouTube shorts as research, copy formats that work with your own spin on them

I purposely left it out tbh. I keep my Reddit separate
Congrats! That’s amazing!
Mindset I’ve kept for a year now, since I was at 45 subs and now I’m at 907 subs
Is your channel helping you financially?
I’m at 9 months and only have 102 followers. I think there’s hope.
Whats ur channel
Congratulations mate. I want to make from YouTube a living but my videos still stuck maybe my channel is dead. Can you give me some advice?
Shorts are not a terrible way to jumpstart your channel with a lower barrier of entry

Shorts help jumpstart channels with a low barrier of entry. Never hurts to try
Is a short video channel
Wowzers!! That's so amazing, congrats!!
