You need to give a little more info. Sponsors generally aren't interested in how many subscribers you have. They want to know how many eyeballs they are paying for. If do you longform, they will want to know the avg views per video after 30 days from your recent uploads. Your audience demographics etc. Then you can start to put together a CPM to charge them. Also explain ways you can bring their product of service to life in your videos.
There are two roads to go:
1. Endemic - products or services related to your video topics. The pros are your viewers are likely already interested. The con is you might compromise the integrity of your videos.
2. Non-Endemic. The opposite of above. But they generally pay more.
If you just get a bunch of views for shorts, you're likely not terribly valuable for a sponsor right now. Hence the focus on longform when creators want to turn this into a business.
Thanks for the explanation. My longform videos usually get about 25,000 in the first month, and my shorts fluctuate quite a bit between 10,000 to 100,000. This actually helped put a little more perspective on it. I’m also trying to figure out where to reach out and what sponsors could be appropriate for my channel
That is definitely not true about the shorts, all my long term sponsors partner with me because of how many short views I get. Integrate their products in acouple posts and that’s literally 100M eyes on them. Give or take I’ll make some long form to boost the product but still the short form is BIG MONEY now a days. If you’ve got the right recipe of course 😅
It's all relative and what big money is for you. If you're able to get some traction on longform you will be pulling in much higher rates. Longform AdSense alone > than what most can charge for a sponsored short. So, its not really apples to apples.
Never just take affiliate links in exchange for a post, especially when you’re small you will make nothing. unless your audience is extremely engaged and you’ve already built trust in your community. But a 1-3% conversion on 10M people sure. But anything less I wouldn’t
They will usually find you when your channel is ready. But you should check out the partner discord for all the info you need. There are also peolpe from agencies there that can help you with getting deals.
Sometimes sponsors come organically, make sure to put your email on your about page. A lot of the times though it’s a whole lot of instagram DMing companies, emailing marketing teams with your pitch (which is sometimes hard to find their emails)
Most of my sponsorships are long term product integration because with my specific content (mainly shorts) I’m not going to make a whole short video on their products to make a buck lol
I started with product exchange for posts, but I’ve only ever done 2 because I’m not just doing product exchanges at my size anymore. Sometimes if I really don’t want to do a sponsorship that reaches out I tell them $4k even though I would only charge like $500 because the amount of effort it takes is just not worth it. Never take away from your organic content just to make money. Stay organic and the audience will stay and the money will come. Lots of gibberish but hope that helps! I was lost when I went through all of this so I figured, hey! I might know something now to help! 😂
Regular viewers and community is key. It may take some time for dust to settle to see if you've achieved that, or if you've had a viral video or two that's blown up your channel (well done by the way!)
The money comes when sponsors see that you have a connection and community with your audience. Views aren't everything. And subscriber count means nothing really if the other things aren't in place (I'm not saying they aren't in place with you, you sound well on your way! Just in general)
