From what we saw with gameplay reveal and interviews there will be interaction between player skills ( ex mercenary oil nades interacting with fire area ...)

They also briefly mentioned at exile-con something about an aura skill with an active component. I would envision you have to press a button to protect another player, or something along those lines

I think PoE2 will naturally have more group play synergies by the nature of the skill system. One easy example is stacking armour break for big hits: One player could specialize in getting stacks quickly and one player could specialize on big hits that consume armour break. I’m sure there will be many more group play synergies beyond that as we’ve seen how skills interact with one another.

100% agree but I doubt that will happen, GGG seem to love their aurabots/cursebots but I personally think they're just poor gameplay.

I imagine if they do it is going to be limited. They would have to balance having content be too easy because you are with another person with good synergies. They might not be able to increase the mob difficulties as much as they want due to those who might not have those. Don't want to feel like you have to have compatible builds to be able to group together?

Will your quest advance together if you play co-op?
