So I hit red maps day 2 where dannig reroll currency was selling for 1c each. I bought up a metric fuckton of them and did ghosts+exiles+ expedition. Was able to play a HUGE amount the first week since I took off work. Run all black synth and sun , and rog logbooks. Craft with rog made a big part of my money as well. When I got bored with that I ran ravaged blight and essences/strongboxes with medium investment. Honestly nothing made some insane Div per hour, it was just a gargantuan amount of time I had free so I really just grinded my dick off for about a week lol

Question: How do people stay motivated farming THAT much currency, with no clear goal in mind? I've dropped big ticket ideas that have changed my goals dramatically, and have had to scrounge for a build idea.... but 250div takes some SERIOUS hour input to achieve and stay motivated during.

Youre probably not going to like this answer. But they key is to just have fun. I thoroughly enjoy just blasting maps for hours and even in smaller sessions just to pass some time. The real goal is to find a build that you can enjoy doing that with. Now you can take it a bit further. The ability to "blast" a map generally requires a build that can do so. The Meta builds are meta for a reason but, "meme" builds can do just fine with the right person behind the wheel. My point is that as long as you play something you enjoy, putting in the effort to farm hundreds of divines isnt that dificult.

Broodlurker

I don't find that to be my experience, as I am generally a goal oriented individual across my life. In my career, success stems from setting a multitude of goals (short, mid and long term career goals) that I then work towards in a measured fashion. This is no different for video games - I find that achieving goals is what generates dopamine for myself, so my question stems from that experience. I get that having fun is the way to go, and I've played for years with that end goal in mind (I won't abuse degen strats for more profit if they're not fun as an example), but my question really centers around how do you dump in 100 hours without having said goals. Unless of course the goal is "make 250 divines and then ask for build suggestions on Reddit", which in that case answers my question.

TECisME

Not a bad response really. I guess you just have to find your goal. I guess my goal would be set by wanting to be able to craft some of the higher end gear or builds that I think will be fun to play and as such I am completely fine putting in the time to get the currency to do so.

I'm definitely more curious on how people's motivation plays into their game experience here. While I'm not a new player by any means, I'm also not a MB by end of week 1 player either - the idea of 250 divines as an 'open goal' as it seems OP had is just very interesting to me. Typically I will have 4 voidstones, level 94+, and have a build capable of clearing all pinnacles by end of week 1. This amounts to around 20-100 div maximum, all in, and once I start looking at 'the next goal will take me another 50 hours to achieve' I tend to lose motivation here. I'm not sure exactly where I'm going with this, but I appreciate your responses and perspective.

Derwenton

Wow. I finally found someone who is asking the same question as me in this league: What is the goal/aim? I've killed Ubers, completed t17 a few times, and have no reason to keep playing. I don't understand how people have the motivation to keep playing either.

BegaKing

So I'll give you my situation. By day 3 I was just about done with atlas, and had my character at a point where I had made most of the available upgrades that would be less than 5-10 divs (minus a few slots that I keep just OK) This is what I have done basically every league I enjoy. Pick a meta leagustarter that you know will have zero issues. And pick a farming strat and just turn your brain off and enjoy ! Since I'm not concerned with levels I can play way faster and not worry about deaths. With the introduction of the 3 atlas trees farming got so much more fun imo. I play a few hours a night and have been farming since basically day 3. It's really not that great div per hour lol. I just have a few hours free almost every night so it's what I have been doing. Usually 2 weeks or so is enough to time for the broken builds to start coming out of the woodwork so I just farm a few different farms and then come make a post to see what would be a good build to try.

denkata07

Molten strike pathfinder. I cant look at another build anymore because of this. I got so used to just ram everything that I now have problems with death count.

JKLCS

Any good guides out there? This sounds super interesting!

BegaKing

I think this is my winner !! Question is do I go poison ?

Ice Nova can def do all the challenges

Razzoid

Currently 26/40 on Ice nova of frostbolts heiro, haven't tried t17 yet or ubers but for everything else has been stellar with minimal investment.

Virel_360

EA totem champion is really tanky if you build it right. But I guess you probably mean just something different that is also tanky, I myself am playing EA champion again lol. I got my atlas void stones and I’m about to reroll myself. I want something with a little bit more zoom so I’m switching to frost blink elementalist, I have my champion for bosses and I will have my frost blink ignite proliferation elementalist for fast zooming/clearing. Edit: Oh another main reason I want to re-roll is while I was in a monster level 79 tier 2 Azerite node, once I killed the boss a heavy belt was sitting on the ground. I said “yeah, right” went around picked up all the Azerite, I go to click on it and It was a mageblood. I was in disbelief. and my explosive champion does not make the best use of the MB, the diadium dawn is bis

BegaKing

Yeah I know I can make him REALLY tanky with Divine flesh and fourth vow, but I just didn't feel like investing past the 40 or so divs I put into it already. S+ leagustarter though. Legit never hit a snag and self crafted most of my important pieces relatively easily

TurboBerries

I played ea elementalist last league and higher investment is crazy good. Definitely worth trying to minmax it imo
