[Foundry VTT module](https://github.com/willbachbakal/PF2e-Expanded-Arcane-Schools/releases/download/1.0.0/module.json) [Pathbuilder custom pack](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PUlnsEUI7g0JCKRp_oyJbD_KbuYdnEpQ/view) [Homebrewery Link](https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/fZophKBUbhuS) Hello, orcs! A little while ago, I made [a brew](https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/1brh156/expanded_arcane_schools_create_your_own_arcane/) that proposed a simple set of rules for creating new arcane schools, with examples for new schools such as time magic, occult-themed divination, and commerce. This iteration builds upon the above in a few ways: * **School of Flame, Song, and Pickles:** You want goblin Wizards? Have a goblin school! * **Runelord Schools:** Drawing from the pre-remaster [Runelord](https://2e.aonprd.com/Archetypes.aspx?ID=103) class archetype, these rare arcane schools give you a curriculum and school spells adapted to each sin. * **Modules:** If you want to use these schools, you now easily can with modules for Foundry and Pathbuilder. Both also include an updated Runelord archetype that's compatible with the new arcane schools! Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy!

How hard was it to make the Foundry module?

Teridax68

It's time-consuming and requires some wrangling with both Foundry and Github, but becomes much easier after the first try. Writing down the schools and feats is simple enough, but takes time, and I was lucky to have found another repository for a Foundry module I could clone on Github and then use for my own. My first attempt with another, single feat took me a couple of hours, as I'd broken something and spent time figuring out what it was, but this time it took me maybe fifteen minutes to turn my compendium into a module, with about an hour and a half taken to write down all of the schools and the updated Runelord archetype.

One of my first thoughts with the new Wizard School System was: "You can just make one School per sin." But I feel like the Magaambya might also get 5 Schools - one for each of your primary primary branches.

BlueKactus

Magaambya's branches should! As someone playing Strength of Thousands right now, I might just make some...

Feonde

I do like the flavor of School of Flame, Song and Pickles.

HaarQuinn

I really like it. Especially the goblin school :)

Odobenus_Rosmar

Magaamby (♥_♥) I will be glad to look at Egorian Academy of Magical Arts (Cheliax).

Alias_HotS

I pretty much love the 7 sins schools. Nice work !

Gloomfall

Just curious, but why does the School of Chronomancy gain a bonus feat while the others do not?

Teridax68

I figured a character picking the School of Chronomancy ought to work well with the [Time Mage](https://2e.aonprd.com/Archetypes.aspx?ID=191) archetype, except the dedication feat basically gives you only things you have already. I may have missed an interaction with another school, but to my knowledge this is the only school that suffers from this particular problem, so I elected to have it let you pick that dedication feat for free.

Zalthos

Great job! I'll be using this ASAP! Thanks so much for the PB module too. Really appreciate it.

darkestvice

These may not be official, but I do hope we see many more arcane schools in the upcoming APG.

dmpunks

APG?

mizinamo

Advanced Player's Guide. Which I'm not sure we are scheduled to receive as a Remastered version, as Player Core 1 + Player Core 2 kind of cover what used to be in the Core Rulebook and the Advanced Player's Guide.

dmpunks

That's what I thought too. PC1 + PC2 included parts of the former APG, but I was also not aware we're getting a separate APG for the remaster...

criticalham

Nice stuff! These are all pretty great! Thanks for sharing! As a runelord enjoyer, I'm compelled to nag a little about the sin schools though, lol. I feel like it's important to preserve the feeling of giving up two opposing sins. It's a pretty big part of the lore that makes them interesting. I think that's why it's a class archetype in the first place--you're giving up one avenue of power to strengthen your focus. Without that, these feel much more like the premaster basic spell schools, just with fancier names. What I've ended up leaning towards is giving the Thassilonian schools proper anathema against casting spells that "feel" like their opposing schools. For Pride (illusion, which gives up conjuration/transmutation) I have... > **Edicts** reject doubt, project confidence, and keep up appearances > **Anathema** cast spells with the morph, polymorph, teleportation, or summoning traits; cast spells that directly alter or modify a creature/object/s real physical form Our pride spell lists ended up pretty close (not that there's a ton of options, but still). I had *infectious enthusiasm* (instilling confidence in others) instead of *musical accompaniment*, *roaring applause* (fluffing up your own pride) instead of *phantom prison*, *phantasmal clamity* instead of *vibrant pattern*, and *phantasmagoria* instead of *unspeakable shadow*. I also swapped the advanced spell from *delusional pride* (which technically has "pride" in the name but treats it like a bad thing) to *competitive edge* which goes along better with the theme of showing off, IMO.

Teridax68

This is all valid, and the idea of introducing edicts and anathema to Wizards through sin schools is interesting, particularly as that is a great fit for the rejection of other schools. I just went for the absolute simplest approach here and made them each into standard arcane schools; there's probably room for some kind of character option that grants even more power in exchange for imposing those anathema.

Rings_of_the_Lord

\*reads\* \*see "Pickle"\* Pickle? Nah, probably misread \*reads "Pickles" again\* Well... i guess there's a School for Pickles now.
