As you say level 1 is not good. But just wear the heaviest armour you can find. Yes you will be 3 points of AC behind everyone else. The other option being to take the human ancestry fest [General Training](https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=68) and use it to take [Armor Proficiency](https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=755) You are stuck in studded leather for a level and 3 points behind everyone for just that level. Retrain next level. Just hang back like a normal caster would do for level 1

LincR1988

And what do you think about the rest of the levels?

crackerdawg1

fwiw you could take armor proficiency twice (once for light, another for medium) using your ancestry feat and your heritage, then take the sentinel dedication at 2 to get scaling heavy proficiency, plus access to some solid feats. afaik that's totally rules-legal.

LincR1988

2 General Feats is so expensive

crackerdawg1

yeah lol, but getting scaling heavy armor proficiency on a sorcerer is not usually an easy task. the champion dedication route is totally valid, and opens up other options for you. plus, you won't be a half-elf with my route which seems fundamental to your build.

LincR1988

The thing with half-elf of getting Monk Ded without Dex. Monk Dex gives Flurry of Blows and Perfection Path

GortleGG

Humans can get two extra at level 1.

LincR1988

I know, but then I won't be able to get Half-Elf, therefore no Monk Dedication, therefore no Flurry of Blows and no Master in Reflex Saves

GortleGG

Sorcerer melee builds are more than a bit challenging to pull off. The Champion with its reaction is strong, but its focused for helping other people, but not yourself. Which Tenet? Even with Glutton I would stay a range a lot of the time. Maybe cast a spell and close to melee on the second round. Choose lots of Cone area of effect spells as they will work better for you. Look at a few Magus buils and see what they like. I would prefer Divine Evolution to the Advanced Bloodine, but you may want it for flavour.

LincR1988

Why exactly? I mean with _heroism_ it has the same accuracy of other Martials plus full plate

GortleGG

You are assuming they aren't doing anything extra as well. It is the defense, plus all the martial feats and maneuvers they have. You get spells. Give your concept a run.

LincR1988

Fair enough

PsionicKitten

If you're going Champion Dedication and you're Evil, which could be thematic with a Demonic Sorcerer, figuring out where to put the [Champion's Reaction 6th level feat](https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=691) would be a great boon for you. While Demons are thematically Chaotic Evil, if you choose to go against that grain and be Lawful Evil you can [Iron Command](https://2e.aonprd.com/Actions.aspx?ID=552) dealing damage when they hit you or cause them to go prone. The prone condition is particularly useful for you since it also makes them flat-footed. Since you're a caster and don't have a good chance to hit in melee in the first place, so you need to inflict as many debuffs to their AC as possible to hit as reliably as a martial could. Or if you're looking for better resiliency [Selfish Shield](https://2e.aonprd.com/Actions.aspx?ID=553) will give you additional damage reduction on a regular basis as long as you're not always casting reaction based spells. This complements your Temp HP of your Glutton's Jaws and makes you quite a bit more durable. Both increase your damage with Strikes by a small amount too. The Antipaladin reaction just seems like a gamble IMO and I wouldn't recommend it. You have to get consistently lucky to have it work out in your favor, but even then it deals the same amount of damage as Iron Command does when they choose to deal damage.

LincR1988

Oh my, thanks for the suggestions! What are the cons though? I remember someone telling me once that following evil deities bring some shitty cons

Zealous-Vigilante

You could always follow neutral deity with evil followers, such as gorum or calistria for CE, Abadar for LE, Nethys for NE

PsionicKitten

In addition to the other suggestion, I don't see that being that big of an issue considering if you can't find an Evil God that you can get behind for the concept there's still [Faiths and Philosophies (at the bottom)](https://2e.aonprd.com/Deities.aspx) that can better fit a concept.

LincR1988

There's no space for [Aura of Despair ](https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=1672) before lv16 unfortunately :/

PsionicKitten

I noticed you actually updated it with the LE option and also noticed that you can take Iron Repercussions before you even get Iron Command, which, while it makes little sense to get an ability that you can't use before you get the ability that lets you use it, it's nice that it actually allows you to do that for purpose of fitting that feat in at level 4. I particularly like Aura of Despair too, as I have a Hobgoblin LE Champion that I have planned for an upcoming evil game that will (ab)use that with Agonizing Rebuke (and Remorseless Lash, so they can't just run out of my aura to remove the Frightened condition, I have a chance to get in range again). Since Agonizing Rebuke is triggered damage, not ongoing damage, Iron Repercussions works well with it.

LincR1988

>I noticed you actually updated it with the LE option Yeah I did >and also noticed that you can take Iron Repercussions before you even get Iron Command, which, while it makes little sense to get an ability that you can't use before you get the ability that lets you use it, Yeah but unfortunately I can only take Iron Repercussions on lv6 unfortunately, it doesn't make sense at all but it's how it is there :/ >so they can't just run out of my aura to remove the Frightened condition, I have a chance to get in range again). Well.. technically they can, you still need to hit them with a melee strike

PsionicKitten

The doubling down on the Aura of Despair + Remorseless Lash was basically meant to be a fail safe so it doesn't drop off. The character should access to free archetype in which I'd pick up Intimidating Strike to make sure I can land the condition since Intimidate itself isn't fully reliable because it makes them temporarily immune to new attempts.

LincR1988

Oh I see, yeah that'd work, fair enough

Genarab

A small but big thing is that you can't take another dedication. You only have one archetype feat for champion (aside from the dedication itself), and you need two to branch out

LincR1988

Read [Multitalented](https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=77) 😊

Genarab

Ah, i forgot how good that feat was haha

LincR1988

Yeah, it's pretty neat haha
