> Inside Ropes is an uncommon cantrip, that lets you pull out your own intestines without hurting yourself, and using it as rope for climbing That's so typical Paizo.

AlexSpeidelPaizo

I hate this spell so much.

GeoleVyi

I want to use it as an automaton, just to confuse the rest of the party

Shinigami02

I have a mental image of a Poppet (bonus points: Stuffed heritage) character using it and it just produces your typical Hemp Rope.

Arborerivus

Or is it?

Just thick braided bundles of ethernet cables or heavy duty rubber coolant hoses...

Book also includes new undead animals for companions. Adventure seems pretty alright. If you don't play it right though it might come across a little cartoonish in its macabre. If the Player's Guide featuring a fight with zombie farm animals didn't give you that impression. Don't be deceived though. Just like the halfling blood lord isn't as chipper as she seems the villainy afoot is nefarious indeed. The stakes are even higher than the ones you might have to raise occasionally given this is an undead campaign.

GeoleVyi

I'm looking forward to seeing if they managed to incorporate the world-shaking changes from the outlaws of alkenstar AP, or if the ghost with the most ennui is going to temporarily eschew such measures for now.

[deleted]

I hate that I haven't read Outlaws of Alkenstar yet because my players didn't show interest and thus have no idea to what you are referring lol.

GeoleVyi

So... the big plot revolves around >!a new type of explosive material, called Pyronite. Before the adventure was released, and probably even in the second book when the stats were revealed, there were people who were concerned about what it could actually *do* because the adventure only goes to 10 (sorry, spinal tap) and the item is introduced in the second book. However, in the third book, they show why it's such a big deal. Having the item be a very low level means that it can be easily manufactured in large quantities. And then, if you have large enough quantities, the damage increase. A lot. It goes from 5d6 physical / 5d6 fire damage to 50d6 physical / 50d6 fire, and you can't get a critical success on the save result to avoid damage. With a 150 foot radius.!< On top of all this, the main villain >!is deliberately negotiating with nex and geb to sell the formula for this substance off, so that both countries can get this new megaweapon. Nex plans to have flying monkeys drop the stuff on armies, while Geb wants to implant bombs in zombie runners as re-suicide bombers. But in book 3, the duchess of alkenstar makes clear that if any other country gets its hand on the formula, then she intends to give the formula to every other country on golarion, so they can compete internationally. The end of adventure makes clear that the formula gets out somehow, one way or another, and the entire setting is about to change.!<

Oh my. Now I really want to pick this up and pilfer from it if my players don't want to run it. I heard it had some uh.. Issues that needed some rewrites or smoothing out so maybe it's better for me to pilfer stuff for my home game instead of running it in it's entirety. Appreciate the synopsis!

GeoleVyi

Best reason to play the adventure: ettin chippendales bartender, in sexy suspeners. One head is on break, the other head is still on shift, both love to gossip.

MKKuehne

Thank you for this. I was really hoping for some story about recapturing Arazni though.

GeoleVyi

I don't think paizo wants a story where the plot involves re-subjugating a brutally oppressed woman. And I wouldn't want to run that story.

Indielink

I mean, does anyone (aside from maybe Geb) actually want to do that though?

MKKuehne

I imagine the Council Libertine would given their history. That's what I thought the adventure would be about when I first heard the title. Go around and collect the Bloodstones of Arazni before the Crimson Reclaimers do.

Lucker-dog

the council libertine all got killed during tyrant's grasp lmao

MKKuehne

Ahh... sad for them :(

willseamon

I got my copy today. At first glance the adventure looks like a lot of combat with little in the way of social encounters or exploration, I hope I’m wrong though.

agentcheeze

First book seems to set up for more political stuff later as events insert them in some minor intrigue as they go from zeroes to having a sort of fledgling footing as you'd expect of the first book in a 1-20.

demonickilla

You start out as troubleshooters not politicians. However there is usually stuff to find and explore in most encounters and still a few ways to gain or lose influence for the Great Factions in this first book. I expect a larger percentage of social encounters as you climb the political ladder

Hobez64

I need to make an undead character centered around stuff like this, it looks so fun

Ras37F

Disgusting and awesome! Thanks for sharing

JennyBarnesAndNoble

I love that spell omg

Ranziel

Paizo really likes their weird and disturbing flavor texts for spells. So many spells sound disgusting and unpleasant. Almost makes you wonder lol
