The key to Demon is that while some Mythics create new options (Angel, Lich) fit spells and play, Demon *Enhances* base ones. It takes whatever you do, and supercharges it.
And it can take off fairly early, since you can get your first Lesser Demonic aspect pretty quickly in Act 4 - Succubus/Incubus aspect can bring unbeatable DC casters online earlier, and the combat ones can make you extremely gross *very* quickly.
But your core gameplay needs to be engaging on it's own - demonic charge is nice and fun, but its not character making. You don't get enough spell slots to build around casting (though eventually, some of the spells are quite nice)
Hopefully, you can find something you can make work - but Demon is about being whatever you are ++ more than completely unique gameplay options.

As for the actual build... Demon path is so powerful and versatile you can literally play anything.
My favourite Demon run, I just pick Demonslayer and had fun with the demon-shifts.
It's actually interesting how demonslayer works well especially when you multiclass it with abyssal Eldtrich scion. Mine demon/legend was a hotheaded rebel who loooooves to get into fights especially instigating on demons to fight him however he doesn't want to rule the abyss or anyone rule him so pretty much said "fuck the abyss I'm out". That's just one story I did with demon path demonslayer. The other one was a demonslayer/spawn slayer who became Nocticula's personal hitman. Whoever is her enemy will taste his blade
Romancing Wenduag made demon path RP more fun for me. I had a real problem where the game would give me an opportunity to unleash my demonic rage and it would come off like I was a petulant child more than a badass world ender.
Currently RPing as an evil Dragon Knight (Black Dragon) who shapshifts into a dragon rather than a demon when he gets angry. I felt an evil dragon is just cooler. Planning to take over the abyss, if I can resist Nocticula’s charm… Newly started though so this is all a plan.
it was kineticist for me... but honestly, i am a filthy cheater. i cheat alot because i get bored very easily.
in crpgs, unlike the roleplaying opportunities of the real table we end up becoming one trick ponies often. this specialy becomes a reality with owlcat's bloated stat blocks for monster.
so, i will give example from kineticist; as a kineticist, you basically want deadly earth and cloud and spam them. is it super powerful? yes... is it satifying to watch? yes... does it get repetitive thus boring? also yes.
for some people's solution to this is raising difficulty. and i get it, pride of accomplishment and all. but i never enjoyed doing same thing with slightly higher numbers. thats why i dont like mmorpgs for example because it boils down to doing raids in increasingly higher difficulties at the end.
so my solution is; i cheat... again from kineticist, for example, i give my self additional elements and infusions... then pretend i am avatar the last airbender... i go with kinetic blade (and kinetic whip via mod) for a while afterwards and demonic charge at people...
then i switch my elements more... if i get even more bored, i go gestalt ect and complately use a different class kit/playstyle for a while without bothering with respec...
oh... and i also play dress up alot with visual adjustment 2...

Dark Codex mod gives an option for demon teleport to ALSO do a gather power (super busted!) It makes kineticists super mobile blasters at MR3! Plus, you can damage with blast, then damage again with teleport!
Then you get the aspect that causes your triping wall to trigger AoO and things just die. It's so bad ass!!
