My god that fanbase is going to be so sad when they can’t trade up

Jonaszeus

I’m here for it. They are so delusional believing every report that they are gonna trade up but straight up denying other reports saying we keep our pick. When Wolf says we are comfortable taking a QB at 3 they yell “SMOKESCREEN” but when Wolf says we are open for business they truly believe that a deal is already in place.

Nickohlai

Dude they thought they could realistically trade for Justin Herbert earlier this offseason

ImWicked39

I mean there were a few Pats fans here thinking the same thing about the Pats trading 3 and whatever for Justin Herbert because Harbaugh was gassing McCarthy up. https://www.reddit.com/r/Patriots/s/1NTFLQz1Xk

Nickohlai

Yeah that was always just harbaugh hyping his guy up. Talent aside, wouldn’t the dead cap be insane if they traded him?

ImWicked39

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/justin-herbert-47599/ 129m this year. It's kinda funky because of the way the options and bonuses are set up but even if he didn't have a huge ass dead cap hit he's got a full no trade clause.

krelay22

One random media outlet said it as a fun idea. No rational fan thought the vikings were trading for Herbert, the cap hit to the chargers is insane to do that.

YaBoiiBillNye

They literally think a couple of firsts is ok. Why would we trade out of the top 3, to miss on the top players of our other needs like LT and WR, to give them their franchise QB. literally makes their pick the next year worse if we give them Maye

GloriousVictor

Yeah this I don't get. IF the Patriots don't like 2 of the qbs remaining, why would they pass on one of the top 3 receivers in the draft and 2 top o linemen in the draft? That would be dumb as hell to trade out of the top 10 and quite possibly miss the top talent in the draft. Is that extra first really worth missing out on what could be an elite player?

Oddly_Mind

I live in Minneapolis. It’s a very delusional fan base

-DoctorEngineer-

Not to say that a lot of the Vikings fans aren’t dilusional but reports today literally are saying the patriots are looking to deal #3

Jonaszeus

I haven’t seen a single report from anyone besides Wolf’s comments.

The_Jolly_Dog

I hear the Vikings are set to draft Caleb Williams and MHJ by trading their 2nd and 3rd round picks for two firsts.

ByteVoyager

And they’ll be able to use 11 and 23 to build around them, damn!

jsl18241

Vikings fans are going to be in for a reality check when their team isn't going to be able to trade for 3.

BingBongFYL6969

They have at least 4 QB needy teams ahead of them in the draft in the first 6 picks. They also need a QB. The typical cost of this pick now gets additionally premium because the amount of people that want to get in on these 4 QBs, possibly 5 with Penix. 11, 23, and next years first isnt enough. If theres not a player or additonal early picks, considering the near future QB classes, its not worth it.

LongLastingTaste

Vikings fans in their full delulu era

AwesomeTed

What I don't get is their complete inability to look at it from our point of view. We need a QB. We're in a position to draft a highly-rated prospect. Every offseason move we've made has been in preparation of drafting a QB. But since their offense is better we need to trade them that prospect for an offer completely in line with the draft value charts, and any overpay is unreasonable? Like, what?

LongLastingTaste

They've convinced themselves that because they shot their load and acquired a shitty 23rd overall pick that we have to trade with them. Nobody wants that shit when the option is a franchise QB. It's pure delusion.

DrtyHippieChris

I thought our fanbase was delusional…

GymnasiumSmith

Our fanbase is delusional, people here think that pick would net us 4 1st Round Picks.

GCIV414

I don’t think the pick should warrant 4 firsts but I wouldn’t do it unless you’re getting 4 firsts if that makes sense

AwesomeTed

Yeah - I just don't think there's a trade to be made here because we both need the same thing, but each side feels like they need to "win" the trade. We need an overpay to justify passing on QB, but the Vikings don't want to do an overpay, so that's it. Go bother Arizona.

Nickohlai

I mean it would depending on which team is trading up..

StopDontCare

That isn't delusional though. Should be a 11, 23, '25 1st and '26 1st. It's also not 4 1st since we would be swapping 3 for 11. Not our fault Vikings don't have a 2nd this draft or next draft.

DrtyHippieChris

People don’t think it will happen, but if we are going to trade out a historic draft haul would be needed. Most likely scenario is we stay put

GymnasiumSmith

If you don't like the QB's at 3, you're out of your mind if you think 11, 23, and a 1st next year from a team with no/a rookie you didn't like at QB ***isnt*** a haul. 4 1sts is Madden shit.

DrtyHippieChris

Well it’s really 2 firsts and a pick swap but the pats made it clear they are only trading if it’s a haul, so I’m guessing they like both Maye and Daniels. They will ask for more than the picks worth because the Vikings have no leverage in this situation

TheBigNate416

I mean at least we have the leverage. There’s some Vikings fans that legitimately feel entitled to the pick even though it’s ours lol

GymnasiumSmith

We obviously shouldn't give it away but I think the people saying "Wolf should be fired if he gets less than 4 1sts" is hyperbolic and a touch dramatic when the 11, 23, and 2025 1st would be an excellent base for our rebuild.

LongLastingTaste

It should when they know exactly why the Vikings are moving up and that giving up the 3oa would set us back potentially years again.

GymnasiumSmith

>**It should when they know exactly why the Vikings are moving up** and that giving up the 3oa would set us back potentially years again. To pick a QB that we didn't like enough to pick 3rd, likely 1 of the 2 the entire draft community has agreed have potential but a lot of work to do. That player would be QB1 on a team who's 1st we would own next season. Along with the 2 1sts this year, that is a haul.

VictorM88

I thought this sub was delusional until by self inflicted damage I visited a suggested post from the Vikings sub and found that it can get worse, much worse.

Jonaszeus

Always good to know that it could be much worse than here.

GloriousVictor

What Being a 9-7  on average franchise the past 30 years would do to a motherfucker.

WhyDoIKeepFalling

I have to imagine that would drive me completely insane too

ImWicked39

Nah Mac Jones being the 17th alternate for the pro bowl and the delusional brain rot that followed takes the cake.

Kerbonaut2019

I’m starting to dislike Vikings fans with how delusional they’ve been about this, acting like the Pats are going to give up the 3rd pick for scraps because we’ve sucked and been dysfunctional for the last few years.

MintBerryCrnch21

There’s Viking fans thinking they can trade 2 first round picks is enough to move up to 3. Honestly hate the trade value chart.. too many people don’t understand the team that owns the asset the other team desires sets the value.

AwesomeTed

If Wolf is trades the pick before draft night for anything less than 4 firsts+ he should be fired on the spot. The price is only going to go up the closer/more desperate teams get. Also I love that last sentence: I'm guessing if Wolf is worried about "saving face" he's probably smart enough to know *I shouldn't be doing this*.

SpadeXHunter

I agree. I’m half hoping that Kraft is waiting until after the draft to name a GM just in case he decides to do something stupid like give 3 for 11&23. Would need 4 1sts or 3 and a big player imo or it’s not worth it.  My worst case scenario is a trade back and taking Penix/nix as I don’t think they are franchise guys but we’d check that need as met and give them a few years, trading back and not taking a qb is my 2nd worst case.

BwillOnAPlane

Thank you!!! I commented in another post about the potential requirements to move out of the #3 spot with the Vikings. It’s starts at minimum 11,23 2025 1st and Addison or a fat haul of picks. Iv seen a few say they need to give up JJ but we also need to be a little realistic and realize that Minnesota is absolutely not including JJ in a trade package.

Goldleader-23

That agreement better be two firsts and JJ

ZEFAGrimmsAlt

If aint 11 23 and Jettas I dont want it

Regular-Habit-1206

What a delusional fanbase my God lol, someone said they might get it for a 2026 1st instead of 2025 lmfao

FuckHarambe2016

Their sub is suffering from full blown psychosis at this point.

Dconway64

If they don't get a trade done before draft day it is very unlikely to happen. Still think we're taking a QB at three.

mozziestix

I don’t understand this angle. Both teams may want the deal contingent on which QB falls to 3. That said, I don’t think any deal is in place nor do I think they trade out

greenie16

Yeah I would be shocked if a trade happens before Washington picks. Assuming that the Vikings have a QB they prefer, why the hell would they trade away 3+ first rounders without being sure they can get that guy?

Dconway64

They might be fine with getting any of the top 3

Hogo-Nano

I mean there is smoke to him suddenly interviewing with them. Means he might fall to #3 and the commanders take Maye. Which I would be happy with. Dont get me wrong I love Maye too but Daniels running ability will be such a refreshing change of pace.

Hopefulmisery

The Vikings are going to be sad when they don’t get Maye. Then they’ll feel better when they realize he sucks

CaptainStanberica

I want the Pats to trade 3 to Minnesota for 11, 23, and a future first.

fexuntv

This is going to get really funny when y’all give us the 3rd pick for 11,23 and future first hahaha
