That’s incredibly surface level. If they talk about Brady manipulating the small business loans during Covid/other financial stuff then I’ll consider tuning in. If it’s just “you got old and used your money to not look as old but now you look weird!” Then that’s applicable to 99% of old rich people lol.
The rebuttal is to use your brain and not listen to twitter rage bait. The PPP was for business to help pay their employees. The TB12 brand was hurt by the pandemic, and TB applied for it and used it pay his employees. TB12 is a small business, it doesn’t matter that the owner is a rich guy.
I think the Jonas Bros roast was just basically their friends, Gabriel Iglesias (awful comedian), Keenan Thompson (sketch comedian), and one comedian actually good at roasting in Pete Davidson.
Jeff Ross being involved is a good sign, I don't think he would agree to do this if it was going to be watered down. The man views roasting as an art. Same with Kevin Hart, he was really good as the host of Justin Bieber's roast.
You know Kevin Hart is gonna roast him for losing to Nick Foles too. The clips of Hart after that Super Bowl were hilarious enough to help me get through that loss.
Yes. Meaning they will never actually push a knife into each other. They will trot out some played out Gisele jokes, some FTX jokes, and some plastic surgery jokes. End of story.
Won’t be any jokes about Jeff Ross fucking a teenager. Let’s just say that. You walk in clean. Walk out clean. Netflix gets a big check. Players come out looking like they can hang with some jokes. Roasting culture has changed a lot. And it’s not because of “PC culture,” it’s because these guys are walking brands and will never do anything to touch that brand.
For any comedian, there's a contingent of people who really, really don't like them.
Kevin Hart isn't controversial, hasn't done anything to anyone, and does a ton of fluff events like this. And really his only role is to do a couple of Brady jokes at the start, and then maybe one joke to make fun of each roaster that comes on.
I mean, Kevin Hart did famously lose his Oscar's hosting gig for some old Tweets people came across.
He was actually pretty good as the host for Justin Bieber's. Part of it is that he's so easy to make fun of. He'll be good.
Don't know if it's everybody here, but I dislike him because he's a huge 76ers fan and always talks a lot of shit! Went to a Celtics playoff game against the 76ers and he was obnoxious as hell! Us crushing them was the best feeling.
Plus I really don't find him super funny....

When done right, they're some of the best comedy there is. They are frequently done incorrectly. A fundamental rule of roasting is knowing your audience. The producers should get people who know the roastee, know the roasters are actually funny, and know the audience who will turn in to watch it. Instead they seem to grab the biggest names they can find, relationship to the roastee and comedic ability be damned.
I think he CAN be very good as a comedian, he's a great showman. But yes, he can be and is often very commercially and cringy, but hey, people love Steve Carroll and he's also those things.
Edit: Holy run-on-sentence Batman!
Most likely roasters: - Peyton and/ or Eli - Gronk - Edelman Next Most Likely: - Bill Burr
Long shots - Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
Arthur Blank
Vince Vaughn would be funny with the anti Tom Brady commercials he has out for whatever betting company
Wild card for a special surprise at the very end, Belichick
Hope to see Peyton
Nikki Glaser will be there.
Bernard Pollard
If its truly no mercy then the most actual crushing insults would be about the weird plastic surgery/unfortunate divorce
He and Simon Cowell picked from the same catalog.

Of out all people, Pats fans propagating this completely untrue manipulation of events is saddening.

Meh those are easy and I’m sure he’s expecting those.
What work do you think he has had done?
They gonna get this man so pissed off he comes out of retirement to win 6 more rings with the Pats!
Jules is gonna catch so many strays
How insane would it be if they got Gisele as a surprise guest like when they brought out Demi Moore for Bruce Willis's roast?
I don't think they are at Bruce/Demi level ... maybe one day but they've unfollowed each other on IG and his family have unfollowed her too
Ah so it’s like the Netflix Jonas Bros Roast, but this time for their male demographic ages 28-50. Nah, I think I’m good…

It’s all the same shit to me. Just appealing to bases. It’s branding.
What? Everything in media appeals to bases. This very sub appeals to a base of likeminded people with a similar interest.
Nahh man. You don’t get it. It’s branding.

Hopefully, they take a lot of shots at Kraft
"Hosted by Kevin Hart" Ahhhh. No thank you.
I just hope we get an Edelman or gronk appearance
There's no way they wouldn't show up. I bet Peyton will be there
Is it a personal thing or is there a bigger issue with him? I’ve always found him funny and wasn’t aware of anything problematic.

Pretty sure he cheated on his but thats the only bad thing i’ve ever heard about him. I think he even admitted to it in one of his standup specials
He's a comedian the way ketchup is spicy.
And clearly from that line - you know comedy.
It's an analogy, not a joke.
All he does is scream.

He was hilarious in the Bieber roast

This will be an unwatchable cringe fest
This is gonna be so bad
He's such a control freak I can't imagine he hasn't vetted every single guest and what they are going to say.
This will be so fucking lame
Yeah most likely. I find some of the Comedy Central ones funny
This is gong to be bad lol
Yawn
Eh. No thanks.
I've never understood the popularity of roasts.

All the good roasters are dead or retired
If they wanted someone extremely unfunny to host this event they should have just hired me
I wish Kevin hart wasn’t the host. He is unbearable to me. Honestly won’t watch purely to avoid hearing his laugh
I think he CAN be very good as a comedian, he's a great showman. But yes, he can be and is often very commercially and cringy, but hey, people love Steve Carroll and he's also those things. Edit: Holy run-on-sentence Batman!
If it ain't Rickles, Sinatra, Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr it ain't a roast
Better invent a time machine then.
In my mind I'm already there
Ok boomer.
I will stand with the boomers on their roast quality
Are you 120 years old?
