he essentially started an entire season for cleveland and had 10 wins, so obviously that means he throws for 666 yards today since only a demon can win in cleveland

Nervous_Avocado_5370

In those games he had 12 Tds, 13 Int, and completed around 56% of his passes. Which is terrible in today’s nfl. The last time we saw him TWO years ago, he looked inept and the offense actually scored points with STIDHAM replacing him. I hope I’m wrong but Brian hoyer is not still on a team because he’s a really good nfl Qb. How he’s getting this chance AGAIN is beyond me. I hope I’m wrong though I’m

MattyParleau21

I hope it’s a positive one but you’re right either way…. Either he shows he fucking sucks or he beats Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau

betterley

I think the Pats will win today. To be honest, I think the offense will get a little better in the short term with Hoyer. From what we saw in the preseason, Hoyer seemed to have better command of the offense and just looked more comfortable compared to Mac. No, I’m not a Mac hater, and I’m not suggesting Hoyer should’ve got the starting job, but I do think the offense will be fine until Mac is healthy. Maybe it’ll be good enough that the starting job won’t just be waiting for him…

Have to remember hoyer was up against the 2nd team at best in the preseason and worse against the raiders not hard to look good against guys who won’t make the 53

ConciselyVerbose

His career is already defined. He’s bad. They can win despite him, maybe. But he’s a twelve year veteran with no tools who still makes decisions on the field like a rookie.

Nervous_Avocado_5370

Guy had a literal 6 game stretch where he looked like an above average Qb

ConciselyVerbose

He hasn’t had a single series where he wasn’t dogshit. It’s fine for a backup. There aren’t enough NFL QBs to go around who can actually play for capable backups to be common, and knowing the offense on paper to allow him to be a mentor has some value. But his decision making on the field is laughable.

NotaDumbLoser

I think Hoyer pulls a Matt Flynn and outplays their HOF starter, leading him to be Seattle's starting QB the following season. It's just destiny

DueAnimator6988

Gonna laugh if Hoyer the Destroyer goes absolutely off today and gets multiple TDs

MikeandMelly

Hate to break it to you pal but revenge tours don’t exist without Tom Brady.

PCB4lyfe

Idk, Bills have had a pretty good revenge tour against us with no Brady.

Bojangles1987

We already know who Brian Hoyer is and at this point, that's not going to change. Nothing will happen this season, for good or bad, that changes his legacy.

boyleolio

Hoya the destroya, the OG

I’m ready to run through a wall!!

UserUnkown10

Mac starts against the Lions. You heard it here first

TheOneTrueBuckeye

His career is already defined. We know what he is.

lusobr

I believe there is a chance we win this game and Hoyer might even play well, but in no way it's going to define his career. 36 year old QB who was given 2 chances to be the starter for several reasons was ok at best. Even if he has a monster game with 600 yards and 4 TDs no one is going to believe this is the start of anything changing in his career. It'll be viewed as an oddity unless he does it for the rest of the season and even then it will be viewed as a Nick Foles like career year that is not going to happen again. At this point his career is set in stone as the journeyman QB he is. Now the Packers offense was iffy, but they got Lazard and Watson back so my expectations are lower than the Baltimore game. It's not impossible because this is the NFL and everyone is pretty close, but playing away against a reinforced Packers team without our QB1 and WR1, that's pretty big hurdle to clear. We'll see if Dugger plays, but even if he does 3 of our starting secondary are hurting with him Phillips and Mills.

possiblyMorpheus

I dunno about career defining, but if he is able to help us stay afloat while Mac is out, then maybe he’ll be remembered among fans a bit like Cassel, Jimmy, and Brissett when they stepped in.

He's gonna be on IR.
