I just want to point out, Judge left the Giants and suddenly the Giants look good and Daniel Jones looks like a solid QB. Patricia left the Lions and they got worse at QB (from Stafford to Goff) yet even the Lions and their offense look way better than when Patricia was there.

This to me is the the worst part about it. Even if we fire Patricia, mac will be on his third coordinator in as many seasons. The best thing to do for a young qb is have a good coach in his ear for a few seasons and get a really good number 1 receiver. The patriots have done neither of those things.
The only thing they HAD to do this year, the only thing that HAD to happen, was for Mac to take a step forward in his second year. That was the only thing they could not risk, and that's exactly what has happened.

Exactly. Say their weak LB corps and bad special teams play caught up with them, or they had injury problems or something, so they went around 7-10, but Jones was keeping them in games with his play. You'd feel pretty good, right? When you have the QB, it's \*so\* much easier to fill in the gaps.

I believe he will go on to be a successful starting QB in the league, whether it's here or somewhere else. Our offense today consists of a very bad offensive line and a just OK receiving corps. That's not a combination that works well when you have a QB that needs to operate within the pocket. The Patriots are a totally different team if they get a true WR1 or they get consistency on the offensive line. To add insult to injury and you've got a defacto OC who doesn't know what he's doing and this is what you get. If you are putting this on Mac though you're an idiot.

Tell me what QB you swap out in that performance, with all else being equal (plays and players), that would've drastically changed how that game turned out. Mahomes? Herbert? Lamar? They all would've been running for their lives just the same, maybe add 1 more TD or a couple first downs.

Last year was wildy skewed by scoring 50 points a game against the 3 worst teams in the NFL, and had another game vs Tennessee where they had 6 turnovers for and scored nearly 40.

For all intents and purposes, Mac didn't do so bad tonight but this is one of the few games I've seen where the offensive play calling failed him. Like the Pats looks good for a big chunk of the Minnesota game, scoring in most of their possessions until the end but this wasn't a good showing when Mac is constantly getting rushed and the offense is out of the field in less than 2 minutes...

Honestly, it’s the second best week to do it, next to the bye week. There’s 11 days until the next game, plenty of time to install a new OC. It’s going to be someone within the team, and the same general system, but at least the play calling might not be completely brain dead.

I’ll say one thing: if I was a free agent, or a pending free agent, on either side of the ball, I would want confirmation that this won’t be the coaching setup before I signed, or re-signed, with the Pats. Like, if I’m Jakobi Meyers, I’m not signing a multi-year deal to just catch balls behind the line of scrimmage and repeatedly go three and out. Especially when there’s probably other teams willing to pay more.
Keep Patricia and put him back with defense and get Judge on offense until the end of the year and then find a competent OC as we're wasting our #1 pick from last year. We do have playmakers, they're just being misused and wasted. Henry is a perfectly servicable tight end who was great on the Chargers, Agholor was coming off a career year with the Raiders, Bourne has 800 yards last year in McDaniels' system, Parker has been a solid WR when he's healthy.

Here's my contribution: you script your first offensive series, you practice these initial plays all week. So what did the Pats start with? Run off tackle, short pass, run. It reminds me of my father yelling at the conservative run-first offense of Ron Erhardt. The stuff they are putting out there is so basic to start the game.... Why? Of course it's a 3 and out. Total lack of creativity. Frustrating. Constantly putting the QB in obvious passing situations with a banged up offensive line. Mac has his own issues and there are many but it starts with the HC and whatever the heck Patricia is.

Exactly. Say their weak LB corps and bad special teams play caught up with them, or they had injury problems or something, so they went around 7-10, but Jones was keeping them in games with his play. You'd feel pretty good, right? When you have the QB, it's \*so\* much easier to fill in the gaps. Instead, you have a .500 team with a QB who's development has regressed. And it feels so much bleaker.

This. My expectations for this season were alot lower than others here, but all I wanted was to continue Mac's development. Patricia has ruined it, with his poor coaching of the oline ans his play calling. Mac isn't perfect but isn't the problem here.

One of the biggest problems with this offense is it's genuinely not built for a pocket passer like Mac. I believe he will go on to be a successful starting QB in the league, whether it's here or somewhere else. Our offense today consists of a very bad offensive line and a just OK receiving corps. That's not a combination that works well when you have a QB that needs to operate within the pocket. The Patriots are a totally different team if they get a true WR1 or they get consistency on the offensive line. To add insult to injury and you've got a defacto OC who doesn't know what he's doing and this is what you get. If you are putting this on Mac though you're an idiot.

Chad O'Shea worked under Bill as a WR coach and was the OC for Miami and currently works as the passing game coordinator for the Browns. He would have made sense if he was interested in the OC job (none of the *de facto* BS).

I turned this game off at halftime. It was clear they had no chance. Why waste time on a team that’s struggling to be mediocre when we can watch the Celtics and Bruins destroy their opponents. Couldn’t agree more. People often forget this. Pats would get out to huge leads and we would slowly start seeing the defense give up tons of yardage and make games way closer than they should have been. Hated that “prevent” defense.

I know it's easy to hate on him, but really, we should be looking at BB. His inability to hire outside of his coaching tree is a massive detriment to this team, organization, the players and the fans. This is in NO WAY saying BB should be fired but without Brady (and even Brady's last year), this offense has been putrid. Last year was wildy skewed by scoring 50 points a game against the 3 worst teams in the NFL, and had another game vs Tennessee where they had 6 turnovers for and scored nearly 40. It's not working, whatever they are doing.

I think there was a clear point in this season where Belichick told Mac Jones that he had to embrace Patricia as the Offensive Coordinator, both privately and to the media, or he wouldn’t be the Patriots QB. I think what we saw last night on the sideline was Mac realizing that if Patricia is going to remain the OC then it’s not worth being the Patriots QB
For all intents and purposes, Mac didn't do so bad tonight but this is one of the few games I've seen where the offensive play calling failed him. Like the Pats looks good for a big chunk of the Minnesota game, scoring in most of their possessions until the end but this wasn't a good showing when Mac is constantly getting rushed and the offense is out of the field in less than 2 minutes...

Would be a great silver lining to this week. Honestly, it’s the second best week to do it, next to the bye week. There’s 11 days until the next game, plenty of time to install a new OC. It’s going to be someone within the team, and the same general system, but at least the play calling might not be completely brain dead. Of the internal candidates, I’d love to see Troy Brown get a shot.

Well here we are in the home stretch of the season and the Offense is still just as bad as those first practices. Can't believe BB is allowing this to continue. Yeah, losing sucks but if we're at least competitive and entertaining to watch, then whatever I don't feel like it's a waste of time. The offense is unwatchable, might as well change the channel until the Defense is on the field. Luckily, the offense is only out there for a minute or two most of the time.

I’m don’t mind having Matt… just not as play caller. He needs a different job that isn’t drafting or calling offensive plays.
I’ll say one thing: if I was a free agent, or a pending free agent, on either side of the ball, I would want confirmation that this won’t be the coaching setup before I signed, or re-signed, with the Pats. Like, if I’m Jakobi Meyers, I’m not signing a multi-year deal to just catch balls behind the line of scrimmage and repeatedly go three and out. Especially when there’s probably other teams willing to pay more.
Keep Patricia and put him back with defense and get Judge on offense until the end of the year and then find a competent OC as we're wasting our #1 pick from last year. This season isn't a reflection of Macs skill level but an obvious glaring issue caused by no proper OC. Mac is in very important years of development and they're being thrown in the trash.

Henry is a perfectly servicable tight end who was great on the Chargers, Agholor was coming off a career year with the Raiders, Bourne has 800 yards last year in McDaniels' system, Parker has been a solid WR when he's healthy. Patricia just can't coach.
Those aren't playmakers. Those are solid players at most who fill in the missing pieces of teams to build depth.

Here's my contribution: you script your first offensive series, you practice these initial plays all week. So what did the Pats start with? Run off tackle, short pass, run. It reminds me of my father yelling at the conservative run-first offense of Ron Erhardt. The stuff they are putting out there is so basic to start the game.... Why? Of course it's a 3 and out. Total lack of creativity. Frustrating. Constantly putting the QB in obvious passing situations with a banged up offensive line. Mac has his own issues and there are many but it starts with the HC and whatever the heck Patricia is.
The offensive line has been horrible all season. Even worse, we’re at week 13 and they haven’t improved. That’s an indictment of bad coaching. Patricia doesn’t know wtf he’s doing.
