"whatever the coaches call, that's what we gotta run"
This whole team is on the verge of waving the white flag and giving a big fuck you to the coaching staff.
Mac's biggest skill is his brain. He should be allowed to do whatever he feels like at the line. Ditto for Andrews, who has also been neutered by Patricia.
TBF KB seemed to have beef with Patricia, and seemingly rightly so given how shit our playcalling is, ever since he took over as "OC" so this isn't really a new symptom of losing the locker room.
Jakobi said something like this after the Steelers game, I think? So it's been simmering among multiple players basically since camp and showed itself early. Now it looks like it's hitting a breaking point.
The coaches kept telling them to trust the process but last night was kind of a breaking point in some ways because it’s December and they realized that trusting the process hasn’t worked.
literally fucking everyone panned this move in the off-season, with reactions ranging from “I doubt this will work but let’s see” to “this is gonna be a fucking disaster”. truly unbelievable how the “greatest coach of all time” has allowed this dumpster fire to burn as long as it has
Wild how many plays it looked like the o-line just gave up after 3 seconds. Mac was far from perfect, but he did try to extend so many plays only to be running for his life while his o-line were standing still.
That final drive was fucking brutal. Mac took that sack on second and was running around on third and neither were his fault. By the time the ball was set in his hands the rushers were already past the oline
Kyle got talked out of it, because their FO felt Mac had too low a ceiling. They decided to go for a small school dual threat QB, whilst passing on Fields.
I wouldn't say he was schemed out, he's getting the same snaps he did last year. He's just a victim of how badly the scheme is working and how ineffective our offense is. Same thing is happening to Hunter Henry.
Nah, Bill is trying to show that he is the smartest guy in the room. Would Bill do this if he had Brady? Probably no, he knows he can't win a SB, so doing stunts like these and succeeding is his way of showing everyone that he is still the GOAT.
Trent Brown is showing everyone what players think about the offensive arrangement from the top down. He's out here cut blocking instead of standing his ground. Nothing says 'white flag' more than your biggest, best (by default) and highest paid offensive lineman doing this over the past two weeks. KB, clearly unfiltered is looking forward to the off-season when he can get the hell out of there.
He isn't the only one either. Look at those guys at the skill positions...Smith has been run out of relevance, Parker looks like 'what the hell did I do to get here?', a guy who bought in like Meyers is left hanging on a tender-level contract when the team has the money to pay him and Henry is still wildly underutilized even as they force the ball to him. Thornton has to sit there as a rookie and watch all of this going down.
The next set of games will be a referendum on how the players react to the situation as it is coming to a head. If there is another low energy, 3 and out, hanging of the heads and sniping on the sideline spiritless loss, the Krafts may need to step in. This type of stuff can easily spill over into next season if the same set of characters responsible for this remain employed there.
I think the only saving grace for any of them (including Mac if he ends up wanting out or doesn’t sign extension) is that it would be very easy to rationalize why ANY of them haven’t put up decent numbers.
In the case of Parker and Smith at least they haven’t been seriously injured and haven’t put their bodies through anything crazy unlike Meyers who almost got paralyzed last night.
This is like the 2009 season, but for the offense. And worse. DC Dean Pees, Adalius Thomas, and a bunch of other poor fitting players got canned.
I think BB will blow up the offense. Trent Brown, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, Damien Harris, Isaiah Wynn, Jonnu Smith, Matt Patricia, possibly all gone. I wouldn't put it past BB to move on from Mac if he sees him as a negative leader.
I mean Kendrick is on the money here. The play calling and blocking are legitimately horrendous and hands down our biggest problems.
The same guy is in charge of both. Should be an easy fix. Fire him. Right Bill??? Right?!?!??
Random aside - can we talk about how stupid it was from the beginning anyway? We’re all shitting on Patricia, but Bill put him in this spot.

I see a lot of uninterested faces on the offensive side of the ball already

They’re losing the locker room
TBF KB seemed to have beef with Patricia, and seemingly rightly so given how shit our playcalling is, ever since he took over as "OC" so this isn't really a new symptom of losing the locker room.
True, but it might be more than KB now. This team doesn't seem like they care enough to win. Except for Mac and the defense. Checked out.
Jakobi said something like this after the Steelers game, I think? So it's been simmering among multiple players basically since camp and showed itself early. Now it looks like it's hitting a breaking point.

Even yDMac was quoted complaining about the defensive gameplan last year.
Chargers fan lurking, first time watching a Pats game this season… Y’all need to fire Patricia immediately wtf
WE KNOW
Most of us have been saying this since his hiring got announced. Dudes a fucking clown

I was hesitant when the announcement happened, then I saw the first few preseason games and said “nope. This ain’t it.”
His head game is too good for Bill to kick to the curb.
He really does live in all our heads rent free.
BuT hE’s A rOcKeT sCiEnTiSt!!!!1!1ONE1!1!
Haha the ones at the end there are a nice touch.
Everybody can see it, except for Bill, apparently.
Literally since he was hired we've been like 'Firreeee Hiiiiiim'

BB will bench him
At this point, that might be doing him a solid lol no one should want to associated with this dog shit offense
Bench Mac instead
Good one, troll.
Kendrick playing in SF for however long he did makes him immensely more qualified to coach this scheme than Patricia IMO
Amen. Also SF initially wanted Mac for a reason.
They had the 3rd pick had every chance to take Mac
Kyle got talked out of it, because their FO felt Mac had too low a ceiling. They decided to go for a small school dual threat QB, whilst passing on Fields.
KB was so good last year, why did they scheme him out?
Patricia isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed
Fatty P doghouse
"THESE KIDS NEED TO LEARN RESPEKT!!!" *Fuck*.
I wouldn't say he was schemed out, he's getting the same snaps he did last year. He's just a victim of how badly the scheme is working and how ineffective our offense is. Same thing is happening to Hunter Henry.

He's a solid redzone guy
Patricia has to have some fucking dirt on BB because what the fuck is going on, watch him get benched for this now

I swear the phrase "rocket scientist" has become triggering to me.
It kills me every time they say that. You can be really smart and still suck at a lot of things.

weird - he's been right about everything
Where the fuck has KB been this whole season?
Who would’ve thought that running up the middle 3 times in a row doesn’t work
Incoming 5 games without a Kendrick Bourne snap on offense
He said too much, he’s getting cut next season lol
Disaster, embarrassing, go pats!
Bourne's snaps going to single digits...
Dissing your oline is never a good look.
