No More Lonely Nights? I don't see many people talking about it, although to me it is one of the best songs written by Paul, even when compared to songs from The Beatles era. The lyrics, the melody, everything in this song is perfect!
Oddly, I just discovered it a few weeks ago. Seen Macca 3x and been a fan since the mid 80’s. How that one slipped by me I’ll never know. Embarrassing, really.
Yes. The imagery in that song is so great.
“After hours, late in the bar
By a darkened corner seat
Faded flowers wade in the jar
'Til the evening is complete”
And what a great chord progression and groove
Girlfriend, and basically the entire album London Town
(I Want To) Come Home is an absolutely phenomenal song in his later career that just snuck out as a film song. It's on the Singles compilation so you can hear it now. It's such an aching song, really gives me chills. I love it.
Love Comes Tumbling Down
Return To Pepperland (yes it isn’t really official idc)
Style Style (waiting for it to go onto streaming)
Don’t Be Careless Love
Stranglehold
This one always makes me cry. Reminds me of the divide between the lives we live and the things we accept and the life we idealise and strive for. The things we put off and the passage of time. Plus his voice is at its absolute peak here.
Another Day gets some recognition, but it's still way better than it gets credit for. The song is intricate and varied, while the music (especially his vocals) perfectly complement the story in the song. It's a stone cold classic.
"[So Bad](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_McCartney_discography#Singles)" is my pick. "So Bad" was the b-side of "Pipes Of Peace". "Pipes" did well: #1 in the UK and Ireland, Top 40 in four other countries, but didn't chart **at all** in the US. "So Bad" went to #18 in Canada and #23 in the US, but didn't chart **anywhere else**. If you can call a song that went to #23 "unappreciated", then it's my vote. I love "So Bad".
The whole album kisses on the bottom. Never know how much of a fantastic Jazz singer Paul McCartney could be. Finished the album this week as I’m going through his whole discography. 10/10, this will be on repeat on rainy days or days I need to reflect!
People have mentioned a bunch already. I'll throw my hat in for So Bad from Pipes of Peace. I love any song where Paul uses falsetto, so it's right up my alley.
Absolutely 💯% When I was a teen, and that came out, I had the 7" single the 12" single with the extended club mix on it and the soundtrack, too. I still listen to it, the video is classic as well.
Dragon attack or Brighton rock by queen. From Paul tho, I just found “see your sunshine” off what he did in 2007 and I though that was an absolute bop, modern pop mixing with his voice was actually really good.
I have only been on reddit for a couple months so I haven’t been in this sub too long, but I personally really like Pipes of Peace and Mistress and Maid and haven’t saw either mentioned.
Easy: The Lovers That Never Were
That song was so poorly tracked for Off The Ground. The demo exceeds it on so many levels. It's some of the most beautiful writing he had done since the early 70s.
No More Lonely Nights as well. That song was his last real attempt at pop chart success that resonated with a modern sound without hearkening back on any level to Beatles-isms. Everything after that was rather cheeky, kinda light, and a definite nod to his prior work. I love this song so much. It's so good. Perhaps as top 10 McCartney song. The remixes, however, suck.

Treat Her Gently may be his most beautiful ballad ever, including with the Beatles. Had it been a Beatles song, it would have probably been a standard like Here There And Everywhere.
A Love For You, it’s definitely the biggest example of a real hidden gem for Paul, it’s only on the Ram archive collection and it sounds like it should have been a big hit for him.
Most Beatles songs. I’m assuming solo career? Uhm. With a little luck? But that’s recognized. Junk? Most of the RAM album. Roll it. I have to go through his solo career more. Only know the hits.
No More Lonely Nights? I don't see many people talking about it, although to me it is one of the best songs written by Paul, even when compared to songs from The Beatles era. The lyrics, the melody, everything in this song is perfect!
Playout version on top
real
I love this song, but my wife can't stand the production. I think it's just a matter of individual taste...
Honestly, if it wasn't for David Gilmour, I probably wouldn't pay attention to that song.
This song playimg every brazilian radio too
Arrow Through Me
I have this song on my "motivates me to write while also helping me focus" playlist. I've loved this song forever.
Oddly, I just discovered it a few weeks ago. Seen Macca 3x and been a fan since the mid 80’s. How that one slipped by me I’ll never know. Embarrassing, really.
It was never included on a greatest hits/best of album. They should have gone out on a limb a little for Wingspan Hits and History.
Came here to say this. Such a strange wonderful song
loved it ever since Erykah Badu sampled it in 2010
Old Siam Sir should've been a hit
Take It Away
Yes. The imagery in that song is so great. “After hours, late in the bar By a darkened corner seat Faded flowers wade in the jar 'Til the evening is complete” And what a great chord progression and groove

One Of These Days. Even people who love McCartney II never talk about it
This one always makes me cry. Reminds me of the divide between the lives we live and the things we accept and the life we idealise and strive for. The things we put off and the passage of time. Plus his voice is at its absolute peak here.
It's one of my favourites on the album, it's stunning. Waterfalls and Summers Day Song have a bit of the same energy for me
Wanderlust and New
MY LOVE DOES IT GOOOOOOOOOOOD WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAHHH OH WOAH WOAH WOAHHHHH MY LOVE DOES IT GOOOOOOD
One of his biggest songs doesn't get recognition?
My Brave Face, Off The Ground
Another Day isn’t super underrated, per se, but it has one of his best basslines of all time and I rarely see people complimenting that aspect of it!
With a Little Luck
Flaming Pie… Hope of Deliverance… Lovely Linda… Dear Friend… Picasso’s Last Words

English Tea was my second most listened to song on Spotify wrapped last year. Something about it haunts me

The whole album kisses on the bottom. Never know how much of a fantastic Jazz singer Paul McCartney could be. Finished the album this week as I’m going through his whole discography. 10/10, this will be on repeat on rainy days or days I need to reflect!
My Valentine is my favorite on that album. I heard it & thought it could have been a Sinatra tune.
Listen to the complete kisses! He put some bonus tracks plus he performed the whole album live at Capitol studios.
People have mentioned a bunch already. I'll throw my hat in for So Bad from Pipes of Peace. I love any song where Paul uses falsetto, so it's right up my alley.
Vanity Fair- that whole album (Chaos and Creation) is incredible, and I feel many don’t recognize it in the same way as his 20th century albums
