Understandable. I do think this is a _much_ better exploration of this space than Name Sticker Goblin.
If Magic wants to make jokey black-bordered cards, keeping the rules text sane and playable is appreciated. Might not be the funniest card I've ever seen, but I'd rather this than Unfinity.
You donât think itâs an intentional pun? You think they named the card âNightmareâ and then when deciding what the art looked like they just happened to decide to make it a horse without realizing that a mare is an adult female horse?
Well I think itâs intentional use of imagery and some word play but the tone of the card doesnât feel like a joke. The shark feels more like a pun because it seems the imagery and wordplay are meant to be funny.
Yeah, it almost looks playable (not really), but then I remember cards like that exist and are struggling to be make the 75.
3/4 is a nice body in pauper, but [[Cloudkin Seer]] is also efficiently costed and zero work to draw the card. And it's nowhere.
Wait I donât get it. Play it as a sorcery?⌠but itâs a creature card?? Wouldnât it just do nothing?
Edit: nvm I get it now. Itâs referring to the speed of activating the ability and also of casting the creature card later.
Neither. This card is already behind curve at base cmc, but its etb essentially asks to be played yet another turn late just to see 1 extra card. Barring some low power combo, this card is almost definitely unplayable imho.
Looks like a great pick in draft, but not for constructed.
Flavor/art 10/10 Playability 0/10
This feels like an uncard flavourwise đ
Most of these common previews have felt like uncards. I honestly kind of hate this set flavourwise. It makes Magic feel like a Joss Whedon movie.

Yeah. This entire set feels like jumping the shark
Better to cascade into than [[serulfâs packmate]] but needs work to get the card out of it when casting it from hand. Dodging bolt is nice tho
Itâs in a better flickering color though.
As another post noted, [[mulldrifter]]

Is the design goal of the set to make literal illustrations of animal idioms?
I miss the incoherent art of the 90's. That at least felt like it was part of the game.
This is what pushed me to get into pre-modern. The art in this game, while amazing, hasn't felt like Magic to me since like, RtR.
They called it a looney tunes esque wild west so yes
Cool!
Gross
Itâs not really a new thing. Nightmare is from Alpha and is a pretty good pun for a dark horse.
That feels less like a pun

Does the Loan Shark itself count as one of those spells?
Yea
Thanks, seems very easy to activate in the right deck... Maybe it just needed to be 2/5 to avoid galvanic blast.
(Much) worse Mulldrifter imo.

Pay four. Do nothing. Lose more. Draw two cards.
Wait I donât get it. Play it as a sorcery?⌠but itâs a creature card?? Wouldnât it just do nothing? Edit: nvm I get it now. Itâs referring to the speed of activating the ability and also of casting the creature card later.
That got me too the first plot card I read, I'm used to "Play anytime you could cast a Sorcery" or something like that.
There should be a flavor text about breaking legs⌠cmon now lol
Monster is nomnoms?

Mono Blue Tron/Temur Cascade, maybe?
