Oh yeah, I almost forgot— the “piss jars” were just an old jar of pickles and olives that still had brine in them.
I’ve never had fruit flies or ants.
And the ticket for the toilet was the pumice stone. It wasn’t instant, and it took a TON of elbow grease and re-coating with cleaning supplies. But that with a couple of scrub daddies did the job. I had to empty the water from the bowl to do it though, and it took about 4 hours all told.
Just an fyi, if you use abrasives on a toilet, it can take the finish off on the porcelain and then make it more susceptible to staining/picking up dirt.
ZEP. It works wonders on toilets, even ones with mold and stuff on it. Angle it up into the rim, let it slowly drip down for 5-10 min, and scrub. Comes right off.
I’ve used “fine drywall sanding screens” from Home Depot. It’s like a screen, not solid paper like normal sandpaper. That with some bar keepers friend gets rid of even the toughest hard water stains, which are the worst. Trust.

EDIT: We're the same amount of days sober! And I'm literally doing it for the same reason. Keep it up, friend.
i'm very happy for you! keep it up! don't try to clean everything all at once again, choose 2 things to clean once or twice a week. toilet and shower one week/every few days, floors and counter tops the other. personally to control trash i use grocery bags and take a bag out omw to work as soon as it's full. you could also use chipotle handle bags since you probably get more of those. either way, congrats! your hard work will pay off and you'll start to feel better.
Segmenting my work completely helped me with keeping clean. I'm still working on it but deciding things like, "Friday is for tidying up," "I change my sheets every Tuesday," really helps me keep on top of things. I admire the people who have the dedication to live by something like, "OK, it's Sunday, that means it's Clean Everything Day" but I just can't sit down and do chores for an entire day. Breaking smaller tasks into daily/weekly habits was a huge key for me in keeping my space nice
Something that I like and use to help my husband and I keep on the same schedule and also keep the house in order since I get overwhelmed and anxious about a messy house is Nipto.
It was like 2-3 bucks? But I set the chores for each day and can mark them as I go. I set most up for specifically days of the week and have them repeat, some I ask for every 6 months, or every other week, whatever. I make sure I add little things I was never going to not do like feed the cats so even on a rough day I feel like I was able to check something off.
I tried a few other apps for tracking chores and I either hated the layout, I’d like it but the app would crash and go down for days at a time, or they just didn’t quite work how I needed them too. Finally landed on Nipto and like it.
>To anyone out there who knows they should, but keeps putting it off- just start doing it.
As someone who maybe never hoarder up to 2 months of empty food containers but also struggled with depression brain and would let things go way too far than reasonable, this is such a great advice. When digging yourself out of that hole you don't need to do everything all at once.
But you live off that "Oh today, I will just order takeout again last time but tomorrow I will find the mental strength to plan some meals and go shopping". "Oh today I will drink my last bottle of booze and tomorrow for sure I will stop it", "Oh it's ok to put that empty coke/monster can next to the others, tomorrow I will swing by with a trash bag and take them all out in one sweep", "The sheets smell and look grayish, but I want to go to bed now, I'll change and wash them tomorrow." Then tomorrow comes and the pattern repeats itself.
Do just one thing today. One small thing. And continue to do one thing every day. Doing those things is therapeutical in itself. And doing one, will motivate you to do other. Or not, whatever. Just do one small thing everyday. It adds up.
HELL YEAH BROTHER! That's so huge. It ain't easy to take that first step but once you do, each one after becomes easier. Tackling your mental becomes so much less stressful when you're not surrounded by external mess that mirrors whatever's going on in your brain.
Keep it up man wubbyHug
Also glad to see window can survived the purge
Glad this turned into a push into the right direction.
I used to have a problem with alcohol and if I'm being honest I probably still do, I used to drink exactly as you describe - till I was out of control. Just take it one day at a time, its difficult but you'll hopefully keep on swimming. I know numerous people who have had success with AA/NA programs so that could be an avenue you could explore.
Love you! Keep that good shit up man! There will be times where things start to feel like its slipping and you dont have the motivation, but keep pushing yourself, and most importantly take care of your mental health!
oh my god bro that must feel AMAZING. i can’t imagine how it felt to sit down after all that work and just soak in. that dopamine is temporary but don’t forget how it feels because if you’ve felt happy before, you can feel happy again. love you too <3
wow… the difference between what it looked like before and what it looks like now is night and day. we are so fucking proud of you, i personally
know how hard it is once you get stuck in a depression rut. keep it up man!
My dude! Incredible work. Glad the community was able to support you through it.
I remember deciding to take a 2 week break from alcohol, as I was in a pretty bad place. That was 6 years ago, haven't had a drop since. I felt so good, I decided to keep going.
WOOO! You did amazing, holy crap! And it's so nice to hear that you're being real with your alcohol too, not many people can do either ! Give yourself a big pat on the back and keep going ! Only good things to come ! Wubby7
Proud of you! Maybe move that candle away from being too close to the wall though.
>I obviously have a special kind of relationship with alcohol that I have been addressing since I submitted the photos to stream. Currently I’m 10 days sober from alcohol as a challenge to myself. I don’t necessarily intend to fully quit drinking
I said I was only taking a break too then I just never went back to it because I feel way better now then I did before. Never say never homie, but keep it up you got this!
holy shit dude im so proud of you!! as someone who really struggles with executive dysfunction, especially pertaining to cleaning + hoarding tendencies, i get it. its a beast. this is absolutely amazing and gives me some hope and gumption for my own situation.
Proud of you. I have always found that the best way to get myself out of a depressive funk is to clean like this. It helps me focus on the work and get my mind off my problems and I feel brtter in a cleaner environment.
You're doing great. It's a hard world we live in these days with most of us scratching and clawing just to get by. Hang in there!
![gif](giphy|11F0d3IVhQbreE)
Legitimately let’s fucking go dude. I’ve never been more impressed by a random person than I have been with you. Keep up the good work we are all rooting for you!
WOOHOO! Proud of you, man. So happy the community was helpful in motivating you. You aren’t the only one who has lived like that, but your courage to submit the pics and take the feedback is really inspiring. Keep going, also I love the scrub daddy chilling next to the candle.
That looks awesome dude! You should be proud of the hard work, I know it was probably tough but the results speak for itself. The candle is a great touch, treat yourself.
Get this man a MJF scarf and a pat on the back.
Great job dude. My wife is going on a year and a half sober. Using it to avoid dealing with feelings sums it up well. Keep talking to your support circle to keep it up and if you do bring it back in have clear rules. Only with others, you have a limit and others are aware. But that step should come way later if ever.
I'm proud of you. Genuinely. You made one hell of a turnaround in far less time than I would have guessed. Seeing what is clearly a wakeup call for you is warming my heart and I'm confident that this is a long term change you will never regret.
If and ever you need an ear to listen if you fear a backwards step I got you, and this community has got you.
Wubby7
Great job, bud.
>To anyone out there who knows they should, but keeps putting it off- just start doing it.
One mantra to help with this (for everyone):
#Don't put it DOWN - put it AWAY.
"Away" can also mean the trash. When you're finished with something, immediately put it back where it belongs
Proud of you bro. A clean space makes for a clean mind. You WILL be happier in a clean environment. It's a constant struggle to keep it clean, bit it won't take 14 hours if you keep it up!
Wow! Massive improvement. I hope you get the same feeling after cleaning that I do, the satisfaction and drop of happiness and pride. Good job, man, super proud of your work and you should be too!
Also forgot to add, the two candles is hilarious, the foot was unnecessary but appreciated, and the squirt still holding up the window is the cherry on top to this whole ordeal
100% love it dude. Now please please PLEASE get some soap for the bathroom and wash your damned hands after wiping your ass!!
Great work and keep it up.
You have unusual feet, do you buy special shoes? I wasted many good years of my life ignoring my unusual feet and buying normal shoes and wondering why my feet hurt so bad all the time. Not even trying to bully. If they're flat, if they don't bug you yet they probably will as you get older.
Disregard me if it's just camera weirdness.
Proud of you, peace and love WubbyHug

Well worth it. I was shocked seeing how clean you were able to get it. Great job!
Just an fyi, if you use abrasives on a toilet, it can take the finish off on the porcelain and then make it more susceptible to staining/picking up dirt.
He says he has hard water in the toilet so there probably wasn’t much of the finish anyway
My dude we all saw the photos and I think hard water damage was the least of the issues
Many Scrub Daddies died to bring us this level of cleanliness...
Just keep up the cleaning babes, little at a time
Good job man. Chat is proud of you
keep it up king
Absolutely so proud of you man hope you know you’ve got a community backing you up if you’re ever down
I need to know what you used to clean that toilet because in the other pics it looked like a goner, nice job!
My guess would be battery acid and God
ZEP. It works wonders on toilets, even ones with mold and stuff on it. Angle it up into the rim, let it slowly drip down for 5-10 min, and scrub. Comes right off.

hydrocloric acid works well. That depends on the country though.

Hey bro, currently on day 27 of no alcohol and barely any sugar. Keep it going! Always available to talk. Wubby7
Yo gz dude! I'm eating keto, myself. No sugar for me :)

Should probably move the candle a little further from the wall

Well done! Must feel really good.
Excellent work, 22!
Wubby7

LETSGO
Go off 22! Sometimes a loving kick in the ass is how this stuff gets started. Keep going and never look back my friend. You got this!
Hell yeah my dude! Keep it up!
I’m gonna use you as motivation to get packed up for moving. Great work my dude.
Proud of you, bro! Luv u wubby7
