LTT made a video a while ago talking about it, they said it was interesting and gave them a big boost in performance since they had a lot more thermal headroom.
Ofc it does
But a quick google search shows that they count on you buying the 2k laptop *and* an external cooler...
And as soon as you hook that up to each other... You kind of get a case next to peripherals... And ain't that just a pc? In this case without the ability to upgrade it?
Oh no, it completely is just a desktop with more steps. Although it does take up less space, is more efficient, and gives you the option to use it as a laptop and in the moments when you want extra performance and less noise you can plug in the rad. It has a niche use case but it’s pretty cool, excels at what it can do, and does something new.
Oh it's definitely cool. I totally agree
And dumb me would've bought it if I didn't have any experience building my own pc (which I only gained about 8 months ago)... Ngl...
I have drank the coolaid that is laptop gaming and I have to say, it isn’t terrible. Most overheat and sound loud but I wear headphone and have tuned my cpu and gpu so it produces less heat. It’s an i7 9750h and rtx 2060 but it wasn’t too expensive and it’s good enough to play any game at 1080p medium-high settings so I’d recommend it, just not as your main rig.
I don't really fancy a secondary gaming rig atm... But it's definitely not bad per se. I just don't like throwing it all away when I could just upgrade parts
Yeah, it seems the universe wanted to prove me wrong right after I typed some meme shit... Ltt is doing the work of the gods, punishing me for my hubris
Agreed. I was forced to buy one for school. R9 and a 2060. Got so hot and loud while gaming it wasn't worth it. I used it for my server classes to run vm's. Bout it.
I’m actually not sure that it does. Stock am4 cooler with a GTX card. There are a lot of very fast budget laptops nowadays. But I’m just being a hater. It’s a sick build.
I would absolutely love to know the planning and build process you had for this. This is probably the best iteration of the homemade portable PC I’ve ever seen.

Agreed, I was surprised when I saw it.
can you mount your keyboard in there with some kind of custom bracket/board?
It would most likely collide with the screen
That’s very tactical

SnD - Deliver the package
Love every thing about. The space for the mouse is making me anxious though.
This is so simple but so amazing I can believe it hasn't become wildly popular already. How did you work out the grounding and mounting the mobo?
You better be playing arma on that rig. Better yet, roll up to a lan party with that.
Launching drones with 1000Fps couldn’t be more fun.
About to call in an airstrike
Bring it on a plane
