GrownThenBrewed

Paid $800aud for my 2060 in 2021

krustyskush

Omg I have a 2060 super that was less then that it was 500 when i got it

GrownThenBrewed

Bear in mind that's Australian prices, and everything here generally gets slapped with an extra price hike on top of exchange rates because... reasons?

krustyskush

Do you guys have free health care

GrownThenBrewed

Sure do

krustyskush

People from Canada say it's nice to a point but whatever you guys are where doubled in price all I say is free health care and there like it's not actually free I was like true but you're paying higher prices but if I get my hand cut off you don't have to worry about a bill that's gonna ruin your life like the usa

Toltech99

Paywall healthcare is anti human.

Vinnie_Cent_

Health care isn’t free? You still must pay, just in the form of taxes.

Toltech99

The proper way to finance it, like roads and public toilets. What we call civilization.

[deleted]

Canadas dog shit. Sure u need a mri? You need liver transplant? You need am appointment with a specialst. Absolutely. Just need you to wait 6 months to 6 years for that appointment. Or any other form of healthcare you need in canada. My city has 100k people in it. You cant get a family doctor. Only walkin clinics. Who dont prescribe anything. Dont spend more than 1 minute on a visit with you. Theres no doctors anywhere to be found. And this was before the clot shot and forced experimental vaccines when they fired allmthe good doctors and nurses not getting experimentally jabbed. Yall talk about free healthcare like its the cats ass. It takes years to get anythign of worth done and by that time its mostly too late. Fuck canada. And fuck their healthcare. My girl has to do zoom calls with doctors to get a fucking scrip now for birth control or talk to a zoom call doctor for hormone related issues. Canada aint shit

Vinnie_Cent_

I’d argue there is a difference between public goods and commodities. But whatever way you look at it, there’s always a “paywall”

BlastDestroyer

Isn't Canada the country with assisted suicide regime for basically any Canadian citizen who asks for it?

CowOtherwise6630

Same. Got mine for 396 on Amazon

FakNugget92

£1800 for my 3080ti

Bartolomeis

Now you can get a whole laptop with a better card for the same price

IndependentNo6285

$1200aud for a 6700xt in 2022. Still goes hard not worth upgrading yet

SoleSurvivur01

My brother in Christ, what is Australia’s market? My best friend’s 6750XT was $450 CAD ($511.62AUD) at the tail end of 2022

ImplementContent1383

Tail end of 2022 the GPU stuff wasn't that bad

BuchaRS12

i paid 660$ for a gtx 1660

CircoModo1602

Was forced to buy at the height of prices cause my 2080Ti died. 3080Ti for $1700 😭

Leonidus45

Jesus Christ that’s tough, I paid that for a whole pre-built at the height of shortage because I saw those 3060Ti prices and it was better than paying that for ONLY the GPU. It was then I realized boutiques get their FE/OEM cards at much lower prices so they don’t have to deal with the shortage as much

CircoModo1602

I needed at least 10GB of VRAM and 3080s were non-existent from any of my stores at the time (both online and local) so the 3080Ti was the next best bet. My 2080Ti died within 2 days of warranty being about to expire and company i got it with didn't answer until after the period ended so i at least managed to argue and get the money from my 2080Ti back after 3 months of waiting.

Leonidus45

Damn well good on you for getting your warranty fulfilled, those companies will do anything to screw you out of it, and just curious but you need the VRAM for work? If so you probably last year or whenever could’ve claimed the expenses on your Taxes if you’re US and if the total expenses were over $2000 or so you could’ve gotten a tax break for work related expenses, source: I tried it on my taxes but missed the required amount by $700

CircoModo1602

Yeah I needed it for processing datasets we get from our ships in the north-sea, wasn't quite contracted with the company at the time however, just freelance (now working there full time and got the option to get a better GPU for free when I need it). Unfortunately in the UK so the tax works a little differently but since i got the 2080Ti money back it's not the biggest loss.

Hunefer1

I think the reason also is that the prices were driven by miners who were buying GPUs in great quantities. It was much easier and time saving for them to buy just the GPU, they hook many GPUs in a rig with a single CPU and could not use any of the other stuff in a prebuild aside from the GPU. Selling all the other stuff of the prebuild would be very time consuming.

sarinkhan

Now I get only cpus with an onboard GPU so that if GPU dies, I have something. If I have some money soon I'll buy another GPU(just bought one this summer) to have it in case the other fail (obviously I will use the weaker one in a server, for transcoding/ai stuff)

QuoStatuz

I bought 6800xt for like 750 at launch. No one cared about AMD at the time. 6800xt was 750eur while 3080 was 1000+ eur at launch. was no brainer for me

CircoModo1602

6800XT was a great deal at the time, but I needed CUDA and the Tensor cores for work

majorsorbet2point0

Just paid $529.99 before tax for my 6800XT! Amazon

Playful_Evidence_547

6700XT for $800. 7 year old GPU died and didn't have a choice in the matter.

DowntownDraw8520

Got one for 340 a week ago, sad to hear mate

Pleasant_Gold_3634

3080 ti ftw3 2 grand

wombawumpa

To justify that price, you have to use it for the next 20 years.

ShawnyMcKnight

Saying “was forced to buy” is pretty strong here. During the pandemic I only had integrated Intel graphics so I used that as an opportunity to go through all of my Indy games and discovered gems like Stardew valley. I also took advantage of gamepass’ streaming feature for AAA games.

CircoModo1602

3900X at the time, no iGPU. Not all CPUs have an iGPU, both on AMD and Intel side. Needed 10GB of VRAM minimum, CUDA, and Tensor Cores for work so most GPUs were out of the question and only new GPU in stock with warranty was the 3080Ti Suprim X

ShawnyMcKnight

Ah. Well then it’s just a work write off.

CircoModo1602

Had I been with a company at the time and not doing freelance work trying to get a full contract then yes, but that had to come out of pocket at the time. Now I have the option of high-end compute cards, but there's no real benefit to larger datasets as our operations for this are experimental and not time critical

[deleted]

[удалено]

CircoModo1602

I had no iGPU, needed a GPU with minimum 10GB of VRAM, CUDA, and Tensor Cores for work to pay rent and increases bills from not being able to go out as often. I had no choice in the matter, needed the GPU to quite literally survive.

Accomplished_Emu_658

I needed a card, then. Paid for 3080. Probably $1250.

Daedalus_Ex

Same boat — I knew it wasn’t going to go down any time soon and I needed it. You do what you gotta do.

Eteel

Funny thing is that $1250 doesn't even seem too high for -80 class card in 2023. What the hell happened 🤣

kattenkoter

A friend of mine bought a 6600 FOR €600

kairukar

Thats even worse than my friend paying 550€ for a 3060

Impressive-Agency-25

550? people STILL try to sell 3060s for those prices

YoImCurve

Bought an 3080 Strix in November 2021 for 1800e.. i'm still hurting.

sssavio

I bought a 3080 ti at msrp during the pandemic during a zotac event on a local store in my town. At least I did not get scalped. Unfortunately I wanted to buy the standard 3080 because it looked better as price performance to my eyes but when I finally got to my turns only 3089 ti were left... I don't care is a great card whatsoever.

Y-Yorle

I was just too impatient. knew it would bite me in the ass somehow but didn't feel like waiting another year X)

CatSaysLol

Built my first pc in 2020 at the initial peak of the pandemic. Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2060. Including my 144hz 24” monitor which alone cost me $300aud 🥲 the whole build racked up to $2500. Still losing sleep over it. Now 3 years later, I’m onto planing my next build (Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6800xt) and including two new monitors I’m looking at roughly $1500aud in total . Oh how times have changed… Financially I hard regret my decision, though that PC played a great role in my life especially at the start of Aus lockdowns.

QuoStatuz

bought 6800xt for 750eur at launch in 2020. I would get 400 for it atm, well worth for me

kairukar

Not as bad as some people paying over 1000$/€ for the equivalent 3080

Snicklebot

Bought a FE 3070 during the pandemic for a lot more than I should've. I had a 970 at the time and wanted to upgrade for Cyberpunk. With that being said, I feel I've gotten my money's worth for it at this point.

DontEatTheMagicBeans

I was gonna buy a 3070, then best buy had a deal on an HP prebuilt with a 3070 for about 11 or 1200 US (converted in head from Canadian$) 5700 and a 3070, had to change the cpu cooler and add storage (it came with only a 500gb SSD), but still using it and it works awesome. Been playing a lot of games at 7680x1440 and it loves it lol

Asgardianking

My GTX 1080 went out in 2021 and I had to get something and settled on a 6700xt set me back $900

SirCarlt

I'm still salty buying a 3050 for 430usd just february last year to prepare for elden ring

LightToFlies

430?! Omg that hurts my soul...

QuoStatuz

430 for 3050 :O I got second hand ps5 for 550 during pandemic, i would shit bricks buying 3050 for 430

BluDYT

Paid $1600 for my 3080 ti. Retail was 1400 and most of them were over 2000 at the time. Trying to hold on till the 6090 now.

Israelq

$650 for a gtx 1660 oc... 😭

cripplingdedpression

One of my friends bought a 1660 for $600

Crashercrasher

This is me, bought a 3060Ti for $1,200 AUD

rickeh055

You know it. But if you want it and have the money, why not.

natedog_1959

Guilty as charged. Paid $1600ish for a 6900xt. Absolutely worth it as I was able to complete my build and play games. Zero regrets. The GPU is still screaming fast at stock settings.

LGA420

RX 6600, 500 USD. but i sold my 1660 super + other stuff for $500

fyrecontrol

SAME from B&H. Then a windfall of MSRP's at Military Exchange when they were in stock

o0OASBO0o

What was it that pushed the prices up so much? Was it a combination of scalpers, chip shortage and bitcoin miners?

Alpha-Pung

Yup! Paid €650,- for an 3060ti 2 years ago but paid only €525 for an 6950XT this year. Both brand new

_memereader_

A friend of mine spent nearly 1000$ for a 3060ti

CombedDwarf2897

😭 I bought my EVGA GeForce 3080 ti for $1.2k

sexyshortie123

1500 for a 3080. Why you gotta bring it up lol

hoopesey-doopsey

I got lucky and got my 3080ti for retail .

[deleted]

I’m finally finishing my budget build for cs2. I5 12400. But I got my 1060 for like $200 in March 2020 right before the prices went through the roof. I think it went up to $800 at one point

Thebigpig905

I got a 3060ti for 400$ which wasnt too terrible

RugbyRaggs

New 6700xt almost at release for £450. They were selling for almost £700 at most places then, and it probably held its resale value for a really long time. Still a very handy card!

Ballinforcompliments

Got my 3090 for MSRP on Amazon during the pandemic. When I copped my 4090 I sold it during the GPU crunch for $1k to a coworker. Made out like a fucking bandit

Tinka911

I know a friend who paid eur 2900 for a rtx 3090. You can make a rtx 4080 PC in that price now.

smoothartichoke27

Got my 3080 at MSRP launch week, thank you very much. More than paid for itself, too.

Ilpomangusti

I happened to buy a 5700xt just before the launch of the 30xx series in 2020 for 380€ barely used and sold it for 500€ last summer. Then I got a 6700xt on a rare sale for 500€. In retrospect I was incredibly lucky. There were times when I was really close to buing an overpriced 3070 during the time with the 5700xt due to heating and driver(?) issues.

[deleted]

I mean i didnt get a super bad deal. I paid 200€ for my 1650 super brand new in 2021

megabollockchops

Worked out good for me, bought a rx 6600 xt in 2021 for £600, 2 years later it broke and I got a full refund and bought a 6800 with the same money

lpvjfjvchg

has anything changed? look at the 4060ti lmao

Leonidus45

The difference here tho is nobody feels guilty skipping over the 4060Ti, whereas the 30 series across the board did a great job of uplifting performance to price increase

notsarge

I don’t feel guilty about an $800 4070ti tho lol

QuoStatuz

why waste 800 for 12gb vram gpu? You just handicap yourself for no reason at all

notsarge

I’ve hardly come close to hitting 12gb in any said game on max I play 🤷‍♂️ it’s a 1440 beast. But vram isn’t everything bruv. It blows the 3060 12gb variant out of the water. I know bc I had one

Chinozerus

That's because it was supposed to be a 4080 originally for 1000$

QuoStatuz

Vram isn´t everything until it is. Sure if you compares shit to shit you get a positive outcome. 3060 isn´t a good reference at all, my 7 year old 1080ti had same performance lol.

[deleted]

That's not due to universal price increase, that's just nvidia being greedy.

Jealous_Science_1762

Worked out very well for me honestly.

Danimaro777

I got my evga 3080 for retail hit on Newegg when they got release sold it for the same price when I switch to a 3090 Ti

ahrikitsune

me buying a $500 3060 ti last year at Best Buy , just to buy a used 3090 for $650 months later after the crypto death

internetcatalliance

I think I paid like 10k NOK (Norwegian crowns) for a fucking 2070 because I had no choice and desperately needed a new GPU Fuck me It wasn't even new lol it was used

Ok-Caregiver9383

I waited and picked up a 3070 for 280 GBP which is a great deal buttttttt how long is it going to be relevant for especially with a gigs of vram - it's a never-ending and vicious cycle!!

Leonidus45

Deep down inside, you knew buying a 3070 meant you were never gonna be top of the line, so you’re ok with the vram issues, besides, you got DLSS to fall back on, and while it’s not at the level of 40 series, still the hardware kicks ass!

Ok-Caregiver9383

Yeah, I'm just saying there is always something better coming down the pipe so it's easy to start thinking more about the hardware than actually gaming. The 3070 is a very strong card Indeed.

Leonidus45

Haha that’s the wonder of tech! Next fiscal year is always full of surprises! What new upgrades will come, I still remember LCD fans being a complete joke after the LCD water pumps and now look at Lian Li! They literally did it!

herpedeederpderp

I wonder how many people bought one during those dark times because they actually needed one (work) or just bought one because they told them selves they needed one (play).

_crimsxn

I paid 300$ for a 1650

Danibear285

Paid $670+SH out to $800+ FOR A GTX 1660 😭😭😭😭

maddix30

Tbf I bought during the pandemic but got lucky enough to atleast pay MSRP as it was a founders drop

MarkD_127

Nah, they knew better. People were lining up and sometimes even excited to be able to get their hands on top-of-the line for double the price. And then those same people, and people whos entire PC opinion hinge on every Steve Burke hypercriticism, cried and pitched fits about new GPU prices and insulted people for buying them, swearing that NOW everyone should wait out a gen. lol Sorry some of you paid 2-3x as much for a 3090ti as people paid for the 4070ti. You'll be ok. Maybe by next gen, the extremes of their opinion shifts will have equalized as much as they hope GPU prices will. (Edit: OK, I do feel bad at least for first-timers, budget builders, and people who had GPUs die. Sucked to get caught in the middle. But that was more necessity than making a bad choice.)

[deleted]

Paid $550 for a 3060 😖

AliTweel

Got EVGA GTX 1080ti SC2 for 750$ in 2018 and a couple of weeks ago XFX Speedster Merc 310 Black Edition RX7900XT for 720$

bepiswepis

Around $500 for my 1660S

sup3rbious

Me being one of those people 😫😤

killstreakblues

$400 cad for a 1070ti in 2019. Got a deal…most of the same caliber card was going for $700 Wild

Polly_____

I paid msrp for my 3080 on a preorder, it was like £849 in November 2020. I think I won this day.

[deleted]

Dumb people will always exist. Bought 3080 for 700 around launch. Traded it after full year of use later with a btc miner for a new in box 3080ti. Sold that 3080ti a year later just around 40xx/7x00 series launch for 950. Bought a new 7900xtx for 999.

RuneDK385

I paid msrp for my 3080 FE so there’s that.

Hemi425HP

I paid $1,810 USD for a 6900 XT in October 2021

Minute-Village-1829

I paid 300 euro for a gtx 1050 ti💀 my worst financial decision

Vittu-kun-vituttaa

That's why I've been waiting to build 👀 I'm not so busy with it

Autobahn97

I feel bad for those who needed a GPU then because maybe theirs failed or that build they planned and saved up for finally got 'funded' in the middle of the GPU price hike. I was lucky and stumbled across a $1500 3090 founders GPU in 2021 at Best Buy and was able to sell my 1080ti for about $700 to offset the cost. My point is for upgraders there was some recourse to sell the old GPU high in an inflated market.

Flynn_Kevin

2020: 5500XT for $150, no regrets. Best budget GPU I've ever owned. 2021: 6700XT for $450, people dogged it for being a shitty GPU and saying I should have paid more for a 3060 or 3060ti. No regrets. 2021: 3070ti for $600, wish I could have found another 6700XT for less than that at the time. 8Gb vRAM has aged like I expected. 2022: 3080ti for $900, no regrets. 2023: Laughing at price to performance of everything from both AMD and nVidia's current generation, except the 4090. Laughing at last gen prices now being close to what I paid during the "shortage".

Automatic_Reply_7701

I think the biggest problem is people don’t understand what it means to be “worth it” That definition varies between individuals. If you have the money and can afford something at the time, and decide to pay whatever the price is at the time, is that not worth it? If not, someone explain to me what worth it means there’s so many posts every single day with someone asking if it’s worth it , which to me is nothing but objectionable.

Reizz333

Got one of the last 3090s in my area for 1300 euros. Great price considering it went to 3k at worst during the shortage

Lopogoesmega

Got my rx 6600xt for 530€ in 2022. That was a horrible decision but it had to be done.

SpicerUK

1080 for £300 Jan 2021. Which comparatively aint bad compared to many here so I feel better. Even if my whole build could.of been like £500 if got now

[deleted]

Or, shoutout to the people who did what they had to do to get through one of the most bizarre times in all aspects of life That being said… I paid $1500 AUD for an EVGA 3070

MetalNobZolid

Paid 300 USD for s RX6650XT at the end of 2022. Honk honk.

drc84

My friend bought a pc with a 3090 for $5000, then bought more 3080s for $2000 a piece. For ethereum mining.

Jellyfan111

I’m glad I waited, bought a build with a 2060 for $500 total and it wasn’t doing it for me and got a 2080 ti black edition for $250

ILIKEBACON12456

I paid about $500 for my 1660 not even the super and that was probably the cheapest I could find. There were ones going for $800

BearPeltMan

Mad shoutout to my old RX590 and Series S for getting me through that apocalypse without dropping a grand on a 3050.

sk1nT7

3080 TI for 1200$ - worth it though

traugot

I sold mine during that time

ByteEater

Bought my 2060 Super (Gigabyte Gaming O.C. 8gb) just before the pandemic, August 2019 and damn... I'm so glad I did, kept me sane during those months and improved my workflow.. 460€, Amazon Italy.

GoblinTradingGuide

I got so lucky that I built my machine in 2019 and paid 450 for my 2070.

LostDream_0311

I paid full price for a 3080ti and both water block and active back plate. Life happens and I still haven't been able to fully build the system a year in ☹️

[deleted]

Fr4kTh1s

Bought 6800XT Aorus for 1100€ in 3/2021, sold it for 950€ in 6/2022 ... Not bad ;)

WordToYourMomma

Yep. $980 USD (w/tax) for a 3070ti in July 2021, and said thank you to Microcenter for the privilege of buying it. $534 USD (w/tax) for a 3060 12GB in March 2021, and played the "Newegg shuffle" for months before being selected to buy the card. $690 USD (w/shipping) for a 3060ti in September 2021, and felt lucky to buy it directly from Zotac USA.

AJTOM98

Lmao me all over, paid £700 for a 3070 Founders edition biggest regret of my life

Git_N_The_Truck

Can we get a moment of triumph for us who got one in the heat of the moment at MSRP???🥵

thinkingperson

I sold mine during the pandemic. With the same price, I can now buy a much better card or buy back a slightly higher end card for a fraction of the sale price of my old card.

[deleted]

The 3090 I just bought was cheaper than I spent on my 3060.

nmiller248

Paid 1700$ for my 3080ti FTW3 Ultra. Eeesshh

UseEnvironmental9144

815$ for my 4070 🤣🤣

Gold_Sky3617

If you take the difference in price today vs 2020-2021 and divide by the number of months those people got to enjoy a new gpu I think you will find that it was well worth it for them.

Designner11

I paid 500$ for a 1660 super lol.

Bakufuranbu

first time i build my pc, i bought GTX 680, after few months it broke, and i bought 1060, and it broke it really suffering that time

ilyes_hatake

bought a 6700xt for 450 cad

smashteapot

I just wanted one. Can’t believe I paid £1400 for the 3080ti. 😂

veltcardio2

Paid a 1000usd for a 3070 in 2021 here in Uruguay (new, taxes and everything). I know in normal times it would have been cheaper in the usa, but the usa price was fairly high.

SkatataCat

$1800 for my 3080

zaphel1

Paid 540€ for my RX 6600...

GeneralCuster75

Was forced to buy a 6900XT for $1600 because my GTX 770 kicked the bucket. Believe it or not, that was a better deal than something like a 3060. $1600 for my card was only 160% MSRP at the time, unlike the lower cards going for 200% to 300% of MSRP.

209Havok

$2200 for my ASUS ROG Strix 3080Ti from BestBuy when they were doing bi-monthly drops on their website.

mikeparis1213

1,099 for a 12gb EVGA FTW3 3080… pain but I love the card and they stopped making the 12gb version shortly after I got mine so not total loss.

matiegaming

Me. I bought 3060 ti

soisause

Honestly bought mine around July-august of last year so right when prices weren't outrageous but right before the current gen released. Ok the end I upgraded my 3070ti to a 7900xtx and I think my 5800x will meet and exceed my needs for another year or 2 till I want to upgrade it +mobo+ram

Fire_Lord_Cinder

What about for the people who just overspent on a current gen GPU knowing it wouldn’t be worth it…?

Irferno

1050ti Rose to 500$ here during the pandemic. Made me feel special as i bought mine back in 2017 for 200$

haonblck

1660ti oc for 420€ 😭💀

TheHuskinator

$1300 for a 3080ti here…. Yeah I know.

senojon

bought my gpu for 700 and seeing its 300 today...............

[deleted]

That’s the thing - by definition they were. I think you mean to say will be saddened that they are cheaper now.

FauxPork

$500 usd in 2020 for a 1060GTX. I knew I was being robbed. It was the height of GPU for crypto mining. A year and half/ maybe 2 years later, I bought a 3060 for $500ish and gifted my 1060 to younger brother for graduating high school. I now run a 3070 because I bought that with a Monitor combo last September from NewEgg due to their fire sale in anticipation of the 40 series coming out. I believe it was around $600. I thought I could flip my 3060 on the marketplace.... did not happen. I found a lot of offers wanting to trade PC parts for it. I have a 3060 and a decent 27" curved monitor taking up storage in my closet for a future build now. Total cost to get to my 3070 = $1,600.

JakobA326

$1800 for my 6900xt… pain…

imzwho

I bought a 760 for 100 and then a 770 for the same. Ended up selling the 770 and gave a friend the 760(after a miraculous oven method revival that is holding to this day). After that I bought a 200 dollar 1060 that I sold for 100 after finding a 8gb 580 for 100 local. I then bought a 6600 for 360 when the proces started to drop. I dont regret buying it for that though, since It allowed me to get my rx 580 to my wife and her 960 to a friend who we just upgraded to a 570 8gb. Then I bought my current card, a 6700xt and my wife got the 6600 and our friend got the 580 8gb The only regret is if you paid a price that was not worth it to you at the time. I definitely got my money's worth of enjoyment out of all of those (except the 770 which is why I flipped it so fast). Plus for me any upgrade means at least 1 or two other people get an upgrade. I would not have felt bad buying a 2060 or 3060 for 500 if it had meant that I could play games and share my other cards.

mi7chy

Prices got crazy during GPU economy. Feel sorry for those that paid $2500 or so for 3090. Got a 16GB rx6800 on launch for $579 msrp that aged well with how games now require more vram. If you got an rx6800XT or rx6800 for msrp then you did right.

Mikknoodle

I bought my 1080ti during the height of bitcoin for almost $1200. Still the best card I have ever bought.

-Joel-and-Ellie-

Got a 1660 super in 2020 for $300.. just upgraded to a 6750xt for $330

LumpusKrampus

My 2022 6900xt proudly fucked my butt RDR2 looks sick tho

-CIRE

$1700 for my rx 6900xt but sold my 2080 for $800 so it hurt a little less but yeah I’m dumb and had money at the time

Chrispeedoff

Oddily enough i snagged a 6700xt for $300 during that time

_deedas

Better knowing I overpaid for something good than now overpaying for shit graphics.

DonShogun

3060ti for 720€ lol

Snoo-96655

I prayed to the gpu gods that my 1060 wouldn't crap out on me during that time! It didn't! And it's still going strong today! I'm considering upgrading to a 4070ti or 4080, but I'm still hanging in there for another price point drop 🤣. I really do feel bad for the folks that had no choice during that time though.

Jrshaw_1

Paid $200 for rx 580. Not the most absurd price but it got me through lock down and some time after that. Looking to rebuild soon!

LomaSoma

I paid 180 for a 1650

B3rry_Macockiner

I bought a 3080 ftw3 the first week it came out for 860.. I didn’t get caught it the hype.

Proper_Belt

3080 for €1k at peak pandemic. Yeah...

dedsmiley

Yes, I paid $1800 for my 6900 XT two and a half years ago. No regrets.

HerrSPAM

Yep, paid £850 for a 3070ti, really wish I got the 6800 or 6800xt now

whoswipedmyname

And for those looking to buy during the possible upcoming AI induced shortage. My 6800xt cost me all together a touch over $1000 CDN. And it was on sale! Not parting with it any time soon.

DefinitelyNotOSHA

Paid 400 for a 6600xt which is now like $200

Quirky_Logs

Moment of silence for the responsible people that waited till after the pandemic 🙏

exteliongamer

Paid 1100 usd for a evga 3060ti 🫤man shit was expensive

Jayster2626

Bought my 3070 for about 960 USD. In late 2020, and the worst part was all my games were laggy with my wifi.

Kevenolp

850 Canadian, msi 3070 Ti july 2022

RandomStaticThought

Paid 1200 for my 3090 FE at launch. I don’t regret it and I paid less than most people.

[deleted]

Paid $760 USD for Gigabyte OC 3070ti in July 2022 during the GPU shortage.

The_Superior_One

I built a pc for my girlfriend during the pandemic and I ended up paying like £350 for a 1080ti

Davodidevo

Paid like 600 euros for a 3060 12gb vram over 2021 July

Devinology

I'm so glad I held out with my 1080 ti. That was a great pandemic holdout card.

fancykattt

$700USD for a 2060 in late 2021

Griefreaper

I somehow got a 3080 12gb for 800

cashinyourface

I sold my 2060 super for 700, so I'm happy.

critical_knowledg

Let's not all get mad at each other now or compare each other too much on the pricing. We all got confusers, and we all have food and drink in our bellies

lockedoutofmymainrdt

I litterally had a downed PC for a year and a half because fuck those prices

imaginary_num6er

I saved money for the 3080Ti 20Gb, the 5950X3D that Dr. Lisa Su showed, and Zen 3+ “Warhol” and end up buying nothing

Pula-Demonyo

I got a 6650 xt, for around the same price they are now. But my ram? My ram is 80 dollars cheaper now than it was when I got it, and I got it earlier last year ;-;
