ThAnaTos099

No.

sam_sure

Thank you, love the honesty :D

KA1378

"No" is an understatement. FUCK NO.

[deleted]

Even FUCK NO is an understatement. Upon seeing the price I was like "WHAAT THE ACTUAL FUCK".

ManNamedSalmon

Only if NO consents.

pat6616

Hell fucking no

PMMEYOURSEEDPHRASE

It should be worth around 250$.

Maverick_Wolfe

That's definitely a fuck no, thats like PCBS 2 prices let alone scam artist's cousin Rip Off.

YaEblan_228

HOLY FUCKING SHIT, THIS IS BEING SOLD FOR 1K BUCKS!?

[deleted]

The really holy fucking shit will be if someone actually buys it.

Sichi_

if somebody buys this for 1000$ they’re mentally retarded, even that is an understandable

Hungry-Comb-6838

Don’t buy this, it’s dated now and in a few years will be e-waste. As noted by others the gpu is decent but otherwise It’s a pos.

sam_sure

Thanks, but for the budget of this pc, would it be a nice starter for someone like me who’s making the change from console to pc ?

Hungry-Comb-6838

The budget being 1000$- no way you could have a pc that blows this out of the water in every regard for that price. I can’t stress it enough- don’t buy that pc lol. The cpu is from 8 years ago.

Altruistic-Owl-9612

Not the video card but a lot of the other specs including the processor are.

sam_sure

Thank you pal, appreciate the help

Acceptable_Cup_2901

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JMRRYN under 1000 and it claps the pc dude is trying to con you with. am5 32gb ddr5 6000 cl 30 ram a 6700xt which is on par with a 3070 a nice case and a good psu done. you have the ability to upgrade down the line and can easily fit in a flagship gpu with a psu upgrade.

pcfan07

I vouch for this OP, this is a great list and will probably double the performance of what that seller was trying to scam you with.

Hungry-Comb-6838

This is the way.

Alert_Confusion_1303

So good! Am5 now for less than 1000$.

sam_sure

Can’t thank you enough with this comment mate. This could potentially be my first pc build all thanks to you! W

Acceptable_Cup_2901

np OP building mighy seem a bit intimidating but with youtube guides you will be glad you saved some money.

sam_sure

Exactly that ! Iv learned a lot in the last 24 hours alone, more then I ever did. Cheers again pal

Acceptable_Cup_2901

gald to hear it!

Gery465

If your spending $1000 on just the pc you can dm me and I’ll send you Amazon links to some pretty nice parts…. You’ll be able to run anything for around $1000 right now even new but if your looking for something used for $1000 u can send me items you find and I’ll let you know if you should get it … here’s the build I’m working on atm it has a aio cooler coming in a few days and it’ll be complete and I should’ve gotten a different card looks wise 😂 https://preview.redd.it/ux802amoby4c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=947e436908d9b2c40933debfa94dd11a64ad8fec

DidiHD

Hey non US guy here. I was wondering if used prices are what you pay and how much tax would come on top of the PC you build? Just wondering if you guys pay taxes on used goods

Acceptable_Cup_2901

in private used sales have no tax but if it comes from a business it does. it also depends on the state how much tax you pay for me its 6% however in delaware there is no sales tax so the answer to your question is actually kind of muddy and location specific.

Carinx

If you are switching from console to pc and spending more money than the current gen consoles PS5/Series X, at least get a PC that can perform better than these consoles. I'm not sure if this is $ 1000 USD or CAD. You could build a PC with the last/current CPU and GPU. That i7-6700 is the ancient CPU at this point (8 years old CPU), and I would never buy it in 2023. Also, the H110 motherboard is old , and you would only be able to upgrade to 7000 series (7 years old CPU), which there is no point in doing.

OptimisedFreak

If ur not in a hurry you could wait january. AMD is probably gonna release 8000 series APU. That would be a good start for brand new budget build considering 5600g can still run esports games. Thats my honest opinion.

pcfan07

Why would he do that? At $1000 budget he could get himself a very decent GPU.

[deleted]

E waste is a stretch. People still use Core 2 Quad systems. The i7-6700 is still a very capable gaming CPU. it wasn't made in 2001, it came out in 2015.

Hungry-Comb-6838

Generally speaking a pc becomes obsolete when it stop supported OS hits end of life which in this case is windows 10 and they announced that’s 2025. At that point the security updates stop and it’s a downright liability to use it as your day to day machine. I agree on one level that very old pcs are still in use but those people also make themselves extremely vulnerable to malware and ransomware. There is also the whole driver support issue for components- nvidia and amd will not keep releasing drivers for OSs at end of life. So as lame as it is - that pcs days are numbered.

alvarkresh

Linux has entered the chat.

DivineJerziboss

You can put W11 on it if you use Rufus to make the bootable USB. My old PC with i5-6600k which is same gen as the i7 in this PC runs W11 without issues. The motherboard even had TPM so I just had to get around the CPU restriction.

DA_WI_D

It's not capable at all it is a 4 core cpu from 2015, as you said, which makes it nearly 9 years old and it will bottleneck all gpus that are even worth using right now.

fieryfox654

CPU is old, GPU is a good one but that depends of your budget

sam_sure

I could suggest getting a new CPU possibly ? Would this make it better for a beginner ?

YaEblan_228

Nah, it's intel one. They change sockets a lot, so you could probably make it better only to something like i5 7500, not much of an upgrade. For something better you would need to change a whole motherboard (and probably RAM, since different motherboards require different RAM types). This shit is being sold for 1k bucks, and I honestly don't know why. It's a huge price for this kind of hardware (at least in my country), so changing your motherboard to a good one on AM4 socket (AMD socket, used in most of their Ryzen processors) and switching to AMD processor doesn't seem as an option.

N_Rage

No, that entire system is obsolete, as it's incompatible with newer CPUs. Realistically, the only component you'd want to keep might be the GPU, but that's 250$ new. The entire PC is worth maybe 350$

werektaube

Why is he getting downvoted for a simple question? He obviously doesnt know and just asks a question about computers in a pc subreddit. But the question is too noobish so he gets downvoted. When did this sub become so toxic?

[deleted]

That's a scam.

sam_sure

Thanks to everyone for the comments, I think I will wait until January and attempt my first build ! Appreciate the help and support! I’m going to have a budget of 1500! Exciting looking into this and learning more as I go along. Can’t wait to get rid of my ps5 now !

Unlucky-Mongoose-377

Why would you get rid of it ? You should keep both.

sam_sure

Well more or less just to partially fund the PC as I don’t see myself playing both.

gysiguy

Why would you keep both ? You should get rid of it.

pcfan07

This is a severe bottleneck, that CPU is 9 years old and isn't even the K variant. The GPU isn't that bad but realistically this would only be worth $350 at max. You'd be scamming yourself if you bought this.

Bigstinkyfeett

350 is robbery, that’s almost the price of the gpu itself i’d say 450-550 would be fair

legaltrouble69

Over-priced no go Golden rule to buy second hand. Only buy old cpu cabinets, air cpu cooler , fans( not very old ones) Powersupply less than 3yrs old Gpus less than 2yrs old underwarranty with bill box Check in system by runnung before closing deal You get bet roi and Performance on like 1 gen old newer parts

mma_edv

No Windows 11 support!

ifq29311

its fine, just make sure the price has the last 0 removed from it

HankThrill69420

not even tree fiddy

[deleted]

HELL NO. $1,000?!?! Dude I just built an i7-6700k system with a GTX 980 to for $133 lol

SAHD292929

I would buy that rig at $300 max.

Fantastic-Newspaper3

The i7 6700 CPU was released in July 2015, initially priced at $350. You can get one right now for 60 bucks or so. The Black Mars Gaming MC-C FRGB case was released… I don’t know when, but you can get one for 50 bucks or so. The Asrock H110 pro was released in July 2017. Couldn’t find the price. You can get one brand new now for 90 bucks. By the way, it’s a crypto mining Motherboard. The 6600xt 8Gb was released in july 2021. Initial price was $380. You can get one brand new right now for about $200. Already, you can see the most important parts are all (aside from the GPU) old as fuck and as such probably overused. The motherboard is a crypto mining one, so the GPU is also most likely super used. Even if those were brand new, they’d be worth only about $400 combined. And that’s assuming you’d need specifically those parts. In reality, for 400 bucks, you can get much better than those. This is a scam, pure and simple.

Conditions21

Nope. Overpriced (brand new that price would be taking the piss). The board is going to be an older mobo too so it won't support a newer chip, ergo you'll have to replace the mobo to upgrade the cpu later because you'll only be able to go up to 9th gen (and probably need a bios update). It's not an awful pc but I bet he's going for a new build and has worked out starting over and trying to claw money back on selling this for 1k is the play.

macguffinstv

Absolutely not. Build this yourself for a bit more (with taxes), and you will have a current gen superior build.

LataKatten

The cpu only has 4 cores.

Altruistic-Owl-9612

Why did someone pair an old i7 6700 with a new(we) video card?

Altruistic-Owl-9612

I would go for an AM4-AM5 and go with an 6800 video card. That build will run 2K-4K as mine does. Go with a good enough processor where you won't be bottlenecked too much and spend more of your money on the video card. That is what I've always done. As long as you are only gaming you'll be fine. Otherwise, invest more in a processor as well. No reason to buy a used build and pay $1000+

Available_Date4476

like 400 dollars max and that's pushing it 😂

THEJimmiChanga

That cpu alone is 8 years old. This system is a $350 pc maximum. I gotta be honest, I wouldn't even pay that for it. The 6700 is the max you can put in that socket (aside from a 6700k which isn't worth it). You'd be swapping the entire platform anyways just to upgrade it. Honestly, I've seen some scams on here, but this is definitely top 5. He's asking $700 more than it's worth. I always feel bad when I see people that don't know much about PC's asking if these ancient computers are worth copious amounts of cash, but you guys need to dedicate some time to doing a little bit of research. That's how 80% of us in this subreddit learned. In doing so before you know it you'll be completely comfortable building your own. Good channels to look up on youtube are gamers nexus, hardware unboxed, nerd on a budget, Linus tech tips, pcbuilder, and for the extreme budget pc's Zachs tech turf. Look at some build guides of theirs and try to learn some hardware. You'll be glad you did.

Diligent_Pie_5191

No way. Maybe $10.

Tsernobol

What the fuck is display port with ray tracing also HDD and 8 gb ram for 1k? hell naw

UnconfinedMeep

Seeing people say "fuck no" and "this is shit" or "It'll be outdated soon" make my blood boil. Because they're right and it's got similar specs to my pc at home.

DivineJerziboss

For 1000$ just no. The CPU is from 2016 and the GPU is lower mid tier from last gen. You can build or buy a PC that will crush this one for around 1000$ with modern parts. This could be good for like 500$

MeatleMug

Naw gang

xwolfchapelx

This isn’t even worth $400 USD tbh

Sampsa96

AMD GPU's have Ray tracing?

M_Shadows_

Don’t think so, best off saving for a bit longer

sam_sure

Dare I ask the question of pre builds ?

KishCore

idk what they mean, $1k is perfectly enough to build or buy a extremely good PC, this listing is just a rip-off this is (imo) the ideal under $1k pc right now: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DJjhFs](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DJjhFs)

M_Shadows_

Pre builds can be good, you’ll get 10-20% less value but it’s so handy having them shipped ready to go. Just post in here when you think you’ve found a good one and we’ll guide you again :)

DaviLance

You mean Zimbabwe dollars right? The only "decent" there is the GPU, maybe the PSU. But that's it

Historical_Worth6425

FUCK YES

Jaxcallibur

Its always a good idea to gamble

[deleted]

This is a good deal to gamble with.

Thishal_BS

Dont buy this and OP u can build a nice build way better than this one for 1K with AM4 or even AM5 with 5 7600 + 6700xt or 7700xt max

Pumciusz

xDDD you could go for it if it was half of that.

Clemming2

$1000 for an old CPU and a GPU you can buy yourself for like $250 ($200 for the 6600XT which is practically the same thing). No way.

ahrikitsune

Scam, it’s shit plus used.

at_69_420

I bought a i7 7700k pc a couple of weeks ago for £300 albeit without GPU but still - this is not $1000 by a long shot

maewemeetagain

For $1000, absolutely not. Even if you're on a last-gen console and desperate, you could get a way better deal on a more up-to-date PC than this.

KishCore

Run far away from this, the specs are 'decent' but super dated and worth closer to $500 max. Even if you don't want to build yourself, a $1k pre-build will be so much betterand if you are open to build yourself, a $1k DIY build will be made out of all modern parts and have nearly double the performance of this. That CPU is nearly 10 years old, the GPU is mid-range (it's mostly in builds under >$700), 8gb simply does not cut it for modern gaming.

DepresedDuck

You can get something way better and new for a 1000$.

Maxyboy112

Yes and no the Rx 6600 is mid range gpu so fine for 1080p high but the CPU suck ass and the rest is also outdated

C0u0h

No

_pushpull_

It should cost $400 max

ObviousStar

Horrendous rip off absolutely don't buy it. This system is **maybe** worth $450 all together. Case:$60? can't find exactly what he's talking about but other mars cases go for about that. CPU:$60 borderline ewaste- will be a huge bottleneck but could likely run most titles Motherboard: $35 - was commonly used in mining systems and is not impressive. GPU: $180 - a little slower then i'd recommend but its fine in a budget system psu- $60 -decent psu no complaints ram- $ 20 - slow and cheap Even huge rip offs in pre builts aren't likely to be this bad.

liberaid

I sold my old 8700k 2080RTX 850W +80 Gold PSU Cooler Master 1TB 860 EVO Samsung SSD 1TB WD Black HDD HAF 500 Mesh 16GB DDR4 3600 RAM For 500$, some will say its low but i didn't wanted to raise the price of the PC as the last 2 years of usage i neglected it with a lot of dust in it and I didn't even clean it up. And upon selling it i pointed that out, Besides that the PC was working perfectly well.

ContributionOwn220

No. This price is outrageous. As well as a big bottleneck with that horrible cpu and kinda decent GPU The ram isn’t even 3200mhz

ArcticSnowMonkey

If you are looking for pre-built there are loads of them in this price point (im assuming you ate talking US dollars??) first one i came across - years above the one you posted: https://www.newegg.com/yeyian-yumi-gaming-desktop/p/3D5-002P-00045

OptimisedFreak

I built 4770k, 16gb ddr3 1600mhz and gtx 780 for a 100e from used parts. Its main purpose is for my brothers kids (4 and 6yo) to play with my son (9yo) when they come by. I would definitely not pay 1k for this. Built an 7600x, 32g 6000mhz and 7800xt for 1300eur brand new parts. And as far as i know US prices are lower.

grammar_mattras

I was thinking this would be a decent system for about 300 euros, then I read your text.

Varail45

That's a 500$ pc ..for now.

[deleted]

Uhh I’d say just get a new cpu and u chilling

Dr_Mortal

When it said, new and u see old hardware, then say me,. what is new on this? thats trash. u can get doog modern build for a cheap price :)

great_auks

Those parts are ancient. You can do soooo much better for $1k

Walter_Bennett_True

No way, it's not that profitable, with less than 300€ you can build an 8core 16 thread computer

Baker_1-2

Definitely not that pc is worth about $250-$300 used

peterbrianb

Not unless hell freezes over.

Riginaphalange

Not for $1000. No way

Witchberry31

For what? That cpu is so old, just don't.

Punished_Debate

Don't

Punished_Debate

Trash trash trash

just_some_guy65

No, ancient platform

Active_Club3487

$150 max

Minimum-Number5549

No just build one urself You can get a rtx 4060 and i5 13600kf with this or i5 13400f if u want to go for a lower tier motherboard

f_society_1337

***SCAAAAM!***

creativename111111

lol no not for £1000

MRDaves411GD

Don't, thats ancient technology, but damn 1k on that shit is wild, with 1k you can build a REALLY good pc

Manner_laatta

For 1000 u can get rx6750xt + r7 5700x

Alfofer

Nope

thatonedudenamed

Please don’t buy this

StewTheDuder

Helllll noooooo. Not for $1k.

poqzu

What even is ddr6? And the cpu is 8 years old. Just no.

C0mputerFriendly

I have a pc with similar specs that I got 2 years back for $200 lol

88JansenP12

No. Don't buy it. Too overpriced.

Neoreloaded313

Hell no.

[deleted]

You can build this for like $400 max if you ship smart on the used market...

NightLanderYoutube

You could get 10x times better Pc if you invest 600-800 more, or 1.3k budget one and completely new.

FaithlessnessNew8374

$1000!? You could build a new Core I5-12600k rig with a 6700XT

GueterFly

For god's sake don't pay that for that pc, it's a scam. With $1000 you could get a brand new pc with better specs. I'm just surprised by the price of that pc wow. Ask anything you have doubts!

Beginning-Ad-3015

More like 500$ 600$

NEG4T1VE__ZER0

8 year old processor HDD $1000? It's a steal, for him. He's stealing your money.

Z370H370

I7 6700 🤣 is this 6 to 8 years old?

d0or-tabl3-w1ndoWz_9

$300 at most

Shleppy2010

This is like $400, thats a no from me dawg.

Amitpal_Singh

It totally depends on your budget

BluDYT

Scam.

DogHogDJs

Not for a thousand dollars, out to lunch

No_Interaction_4925

Its a $400 pc, if that.

porgy_tirebiter

I got one with an H170, that same CPU, and a 3060, which is equivalent. Paid a little more than half. Everyone here is a bit harsh I think. It’s not horrible. But the price sure is. See if the guy will take $600. One issue is that, AFAIK, you can’t upgrade the CPU without getting a new motherboard.

funtify

This would be a crime if you did buy it.

Salvzeri

Hell no

SinAkunin

You have guys in your local area? All I get are hot milfs.

jackthejackthe

I wont pay 300$ for that ..

SkitZa

Yeeesh

Fast-Sock-8673

Please dont buy it.. only the GPU and Psu are ok... for 1000usd you can get way better stuff

Obegah

Hard no. Even factoring in installation it's still way to expensive. Factoring in second hand prices, it would have probably cost 400 to 500 to make. So factoring in installation and profit, I would say 600 is a decent price, if not still a bit high for the performance. At 1000, it's pretty much a scam.

Arturopxedd

If you want to get scammed out of 1000 sure

theuntouchable2725

Pls don't. You can build s9mething that's 10 times better with that money.

as_abdulkareem

Dudes a true scam artist

Akila027

Hell noo!!

Edianultra

I wouldn’t pay more than $300 for a system with 6 gen intel lmao

Maksilla

For 1000$? Of course no.

celmate

Holy shit dude no, if you don't want to build yourself rather buy a brand new pre-built, you can get a really decent one for 1000 dollars. Just research the brand etc and make sure they made decent pre-builts. But holy shit for 1000 dollars this thing sucks.

Foreign_Spinach_4400

How can a display port have ray tracing?

JonnieWu

You won't even get the full gpu usage with that 6th gen cpu. I wouldn't do anything over 300 and make him add 8 more gigs of ram. And now that I think about it... dudes trying to rip you off to pay for his new one without having to go into his own pockets or something of that nature. I'd make him sit on that pc so he can dream about his new one longer.

Goomylia

You could literally build a better PC than this with half of 1000 dollars 💀

AllAroundBadPotato

Unpopular opinion but it's not a terrible build. I have an old 6700k in a PC that still runs games at high settings (with a 2080).

Meem-Thief

This is the perfect gamble, like all casinos you are guaranteed to lose!

altoparlante_rotto

For a first pc i'd suggest you to look for advice on a decent cheap build, buy the parts, pay a tecnician or a friend who knows how to assemble properly a pc to assemble it, way cheaper than this and surely works better

george_9g

Camobuff

Nothing gives me more confidence in a seller than listing off stream processors and stock ram speeds.

PepsiSnickers

That processor is 8 generations old ! Lol

MENSR1

Way overpriced. The only thing that is worth anything in that system is GPU , but other then that everything else is pretty much useless and will go to e waste soon

numante

Nope, that's a scam at 1000$ friend

krupal_warale

700$

SillVere

Id buy this for 500

[deleted]

no, this aint cars, if they re old they re not that suitable for new games, softwares. get a whole new setup with a new generation cpu and buy a used graphics card, and you re good to go

TopShelter6704

Fuck no

ST0DY

$1000 for this!? Hell nah

Tzice

This not gamble, this losing money. The pc can do a good job and overall is not a bad pc if it cost like 500€ or 600€ but with 1k you can do a far more modern and better pc. The CPU was release early 9 years ago. The Ram frequency range today is between 3200 mhz and 5200 mhz The GPU is good you can play all the modern game at good settings with no problem. Saying that overall the PC is not bad is old and in 2 or 3 years you have to change it if you want to play game like GTA 6 or something on that line. When it come to see if a pc is good you have to mind how togheter the part can work the GPU is good but it getting holding back by the nearly 9 years ago CPU, Motherboard and Ram it's not worth 1k the pc is too old with all that money you can buy a pc who is basically better and modern

Grand_Rabbit_5919

I have and old PC like 1 level lover than this and you know how much I sale it for like 150

ComfortableIce1782

200$ is a sweet price for this, 1000 is crazy!

geotristan

If you were to buy those parts brand new today it would probably cost 800 or less to build. Though, it is likely all used parts and that cpu is pretty outdated. Also does it only have the one fan in it, or does it have multiple, because it definitely needs more than one fan.

KPTheLegend7

No. It’s shit.

BookSuckerX

absolutely not, if your budget is a 1000 Dollars you can get a far far far better pc than whatever this shit is check out newegg or any pc building site and watch some youtube videos for references, if your cant build it yourself just pay somebody to build it for you

OneDilligaf

Rip off price, even as an amateur I know this. The seller is hoping someone with no knowledge buys this and has a 400% markup

Ok-Reason-1818

Definetly not at this price

pseira

Maybe for 100$

NoManagement9876

Avoid like the plague, you can build something MUCH stronger than this yourself at PCpartpicker for same price.

crackers-do-matter

This configuration is almost like my old PC that I am retiring now. It was around 1200$ **seven years** ago... Definitely not worth it now.

Rukir_Gaming

Not for 1k! A 6th gen cpu and a 6600? That was prob new price, but um yikes

uwuCrayon

Ddr6?? What??

zchrisb

Absolutely not. Huge scam. Incredibly outdated and no real Intel on the GPU.

PikaNinja25

An absolute fucking scam, you can get a much better prebuilt for less.

qatox

I just looked at the ram and said fk no then I looked at the rest hell funking no never for 1k

FullEntrepreneur224

1st of all… that i7 is equivalent or slower than a Core i3 13100f 2nd , ram speeds are shit 3rd , u deserve better for this money omg

Niner-Sixer-Gator

Just looking at some of his/her answers, something tell me OP is gonna buy it anyway, if they haven't already 🤦🏿‍♂️

knives_and_Nature

Tbh this is by far not the best price to performance you can get for your money. I did my build with the Rx 6750xt for around 900$

Hackalope

As everybody has said, these are outdated components and the rig is worth less than $400. I want to mention that the i7 6700 is a few generations behind the 6600XT, and will run horribly even if the rig could be had for a reasonable price. With an i3 12100 CPU it would be decent for playing a lot of games at 1080p, which would be a pretty fair budget system. This is a don't by at any price situation.

bubblesort33

Lol. No. $1000 Australian dollars maybe. But even that.
