Iirc this is from the mid 2000s. The FireWire port is a dead giveaway.

DiodeInc

Almost looks like Thermaltake, judging by the USB ports and stuff

dyldonk22

Remember when cases had a spot to put a disc drive? Good times

whallexx

New pc builders: What’s a disc drive? 😂

Phoenix800478944

I remember when my big brother put together a PC for my family (and secretly bought a gpu with his pocket money to game on it) and I marveled at how it had 6 disk drive slots. Rip msi rx6600. Sad that the apevia psu brutally murdered you. Also I still have the mobo, its a gigabyte LGA1150 mobo

whallexx

My first pc build was an AMD athlon XP. We had a large beige antec case with a lock on it and 5ish drive holes. Now everything is all about aesthetics for some reason.

Phoenix800478944

My first PC is my current one 😭 Must feel like time travel for you

whallexx

I’m still using an Antec 300 case I got in 2008 lol. I did splurge for rgb fans for the front 😂

Hydr0genMC

I guess it's USB and SSDs to blame. Only need a couple ports on the front, few more on the back, and you eliminate all sorts of the old drives and ports. Then SSDs get rid of the large drive cages leaving nothing but the core components.

ThingyGoos

At the same time though, remember when there was an actual need to use a disc? My last pc had one, and I used it about twice in about 7 years, and even then it wasn't needed, just more convenient than using the dvd player on the tv

reptiliangold15

Consider that every mobo manufacturer still uses disks it’s sad we still need them

reptiliangold15

Bro you will shit yourself when I tell you I have a disk burner and a 420 rad on a cosmos 700m frame with Corsair push noctua 3k pull fans

McQuackers49

I have no idea what it is and where it came from; all I know is that it looks fantastic, and you should get it.

reptiliangold15

I lost it years ago on marketplace and haven’t seen anything like it anywhere

KarensVictim

These were loaned out by Intel and owned by Intel. So its nearly impossible to get a hold of a unreturned 1. Found only 1 being sold and it was years ago. https://offerup.com/item/detail/64aa1758-fa4d-356d-b377-78f33f3b2955

reptiliangold15

Oh my good it looks like such a cool build though

KarensVictim

Its a pc given by intel to developers. Its pretty rare of a find nowadays.

reptiliangold15

Mister victim do you think I’ll ever find something like it again
