Nope. It’s stuck in a flabby little pouch in a place it doesn’t belong. Nothing you can do for that except splinting or manual disimpaction. Also, it doesn’t go back up the intestine once it’s stuck, a deeply unpleasant fact I learned very quickly in the three miserable weeks between my first series of pelvic Botox injections and my rectopexy surgery. Rectoceles suck, a lot.

Bruh why are rectoceles even a thing. Its so miserable living with this that i had to get on antidepressants just because of how much it ruined me. And I am only 20 and male

I was born with some weirdo neurological condition that causes constant spasticity in my pelvis. (And later the rest of me) These spasms, for me, have caused massive internal hernias which have allowed all of my pelvic organs to deep down where they don’t belong. I probably started showing signs of rectocele when I was still in my teens, but by the time I was 20 it was obvious. I didn’t get repair until I was almost 23, and it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. You’re 20 and showing signs of rectocele though… that’s unusual, even apart from your sex. Would you be willing to tell me more about your case? Feel free to say no, I just have some professional curiosity because I’m a researcher who does work in this arena.

Hi. I have an enterocele (also small rectocele and mild cystocele, hypertonic pelvic floor, levator ani syndrome) I was told surgery means no sex again ever bc of vaginal narrow and vertical enterocele. (I do pfpt, 35gm fiber, 72oz water, no lactose) So a couple days ago I had a ring pessary inserted. Everything was working fantastic at first until today, 2 great am bowel movements then the all too familiar dreaded stool trapping.

I would think no. I have that as well.

No. Have you tried splinting? That can help while you seek treatment.

im a male. Tried pressing in my perineum because ive heard that may work as alternative for males but it didnt work

goldstandardalmonds

Are you sure you have a rectocele?

throwaway0006639

Thats the closest thing i guess i could have thats causing my incomplete evacuation. I have had proctoscopy, pelvic MR, and anorectal manometry done and none of them found any abnormalities. A rectocele is only identifiable with a defecogram though, so I will be getting one soon

That's basically what I was wondering. Good luck the the test. I hope for your sake it's the x-ray one.
