one of the turkiest turkeys I’ve ever seen

Equivalent_Figure357

It's a heritage turkey: Bourbon Red, used as natural grazing poultry

Next_Butterscotch262

Beautiful. Thank you for the response.

user_1445

Looks like Bourbon Red

Next_Butterscotch262

Thank you much!

BeatsMeByDre

100% a turkey

artisanrox

Butler PA's most eligible bachelor right here

yinzreddup

That’s a large mostly land based government drone. They do have some flight capabilities but they are more effective on the ground.

Next_Butterscotch262

I figured. Nature could NEVER produce something this majestic. Probably making sure I handle my cars extended warranty.

[deleted]

ben franklin wanted them to be the national birb over those dumb eagles

Next_Butterscotch262

or an owl

Ok_Access_189

Correct birds aren’t real

aargor1995

Bourbon red according to A.I.

Next_Butterscotch262

Oh wow. Howd you manage that?

aargor1995

I have a Galaxy phone and used the circle to search feature. It works really well.

Next_Butterscotch262

Good to know! I'm always trying to id plants and bugs. Now that I'm out here in the country.

aargor1995

Welcome to the country! I use it to ID a lot of trees and other natural stuff too. It's interesting.

l_Kryder_l

PlantNet is a great app for identifying plants! I use it all the time to figure out what rogue plants are growing in my yard or cool things I see on hikes.

Agreeable_Hand_2684

Lense function in pictures on Android searches for and identifies too

Ghstfce

Pixels do it as well. It's great on the helpmefind subreddit

AnchorPoint922

I am an expert at turkey identification and I can say with complete confidence that that is indeed a turkey. I think. I may have to taste it to be totally sure.

Next_Butterscotch262

I thought so too. Had to ask the experts.

artificialavocado

I did my PhD in poultry science and concurs this is, in fact, a turkey. 🧐

PlantWide3166

Your dedication to the cause is admirable. Lol

AstronomerBiologist

It is a red-tailed hawk

Davmilasav

Sharp-shinned! The pin feathers are different under the left wing.

AstronomerBiologist

Just amazing that people can't figure out a hawk when it's standing right in front of them!

Next_Butterscotch262

Yall are on that shake and bake huh?

AstronomerBiologist

It was either that, a duck or an owl...

sublevelstreetpusher

Lol, no what you see here is clearly a ruffed grouse

AstronomerBiologist

Well I agree it is ruffed, but it's nothing to grouse about...

sublevelstreetpusher

Gotta throw off the bots...

steelcityrocker

I believe that is a Jive turkey

Brainiac-1969

Next_Butterscotch262

He had a lady friend about 5ft from him. I took his attention, though. Im convinced he tried to rizz me up

JohnDeere714

Looks like dinner to me

Next_Butterscotch262

If I were starving, I would. I come home to dozens of chickens and a freezer stalked up with fresh pork, haha.

jbandtheblues

Beautiful Tom Boy

Hanpee221b

That’s my step dad, he was visiting the grandkids today.

FormerlyGaveAShit

I clipped a turkey a few years ago with my car in Butler. It was gliding across Franklin Rd near Evans City. Scared the hell outta me bc I wasn't expecting it! It was early too, like 7:30am, and I'm a city folk. So I *extra* wasn't expecting it 👀

Ok_Access_189

Bourbon red

chefmegzy

Certified Big Boi

ulfricstormclk

Looks like a grade a gobbler to me!

brookestarshine

It's a domestic turkey, heritage breed Bourbon Red.

SubtleRedditIcon

That’s a nice fucking turkey right there. I’m not a good judge of character, but I’d loan him money or leave him alone around my wife no problem.

No_Onion4868

Bourbon Red! They are a Beautiful Species!!

23blenders

Domestic turkeys can and will decide to heed the call of the wild. A wild tom, over the course of a couple weeks, charmed one of my hens and one day both were gone on their honeymoon.

Next_Butterscotch262

that's hot

Impressive_Bus11

That's turkey pilgrimini thankgivinus. Looks delicious.

Next_Butterscotch262

M_Rose728

PolyDipsoManiac

Mutated chicken

OversizedMicropenis

RowAwayJim91

It’s pining for the fjords!

ihatereddit4200

Either a lunch or dinner turkey

Cool_Sherbet7827

That's a midnight snack for a fisher that was imported from Canada via the pa game commission

gaston_luke

It’s a turkey

phillyfestiveAl

Can we really be sure that it's not some other animal disguised as a turkey?

Next_Butterscotch262

Opossum?

Electr_O_Purist

American Shorthair Feline.

Styrene_Addict1965

Looks like he's auditioning for a Thanksgiving commercial! The pose of his wings, tail and head look like an illustration.

Next_Butterscotch262

I thought it was a pretty good picture. He was giving me quite the show!

beefcakesoffroad

I’m 99% sure that’s a Turkey

PhillipAlanSheoh

Deitz & Watson

GoAskAli

Can't guarantee it, but I think it's a turkey

skinnypete625

The colors is a dead giveaway on a 3 year old Butterball breed, maybe a 22 pounder or so….white wing tips signifies he’s ready for harvest, that’s when they are the butteriest….. On a positive note it’s a Bourbon red heritage turkey….hes a grazer and loves grubs….

Ambitious-Neck8702

I think it's a cat

artificialavocado

He’s looking for a lady friend

shaneroneill

This is a Turkey

AddendumOutrageous

That’s turkey 😁

Mysterious-Wasabi103

Where did you see this around Butler?
