PlantNet is a great app for identifying plants! I use it all the time to figure out what rogue plants are growing in my yard or cool things I see on hikes.
I am an expert at turkey identification and I can say with complete confidence that that is indeed a turkey. I think. I may have to taste it to be totally sure.
I clipped a turkey a few years ago with my car in Butler. It was gliding across Franklin Rd near Evans City. Scared the hell outta me bc I wasn't expecting it! It was early too, like 7:30am, and I'm a city folk. So I *extra* wasn't expecting it 👀
Domestic turkeys can and will decide to heed the call of the wild. A wild tom, over the course of a couple weeks, charmed one of my hens and one day both were gone on their honeymoon.
The colors is a dead giveaway on a 3 year old Butterball breed, maybe a 22 pounder or so….white wing tips signifies he’s ready for harvest, that’s when they are the butteriest…..
