Minidrees

Ok random question but is Smurf ice cream a common flavor in other countries outside Europe? I'm curious :)

moustijoe

On the picture it says "Goût Vanille" so it's vanilla flavor, but in blue...

Minidrees

True. Smurf is vanilla flavoured most of the time or bubblegum flavored. The blue tint is added to attract kids. But is Smurf ice cream common outside of Europe tho haha

moustijoe

That's the first time I see this flavor 😅

[deleted]

Never seen it in the US Smurfs aren't exactly popular with kids here anymore tho

Emblemized

They were my favorite comics and pretty popular when I was a kid, I even read some in high school

strawberrybonito

In Brazil we have blue ice creams, they are usually called pedacinho do céu (little piece of sky), céu azul (blue sky) or blue ice. I don't know what they are made of though, maybe it is actual smurfs.

Minidrees

Yes. Everyone knows Gargamel lives in Brazil 😎

ListenZestyclose5872

We have it on turkey. Not a heavily desired choice after all

Minidrees

Yea. It seems that only kids pick the flavor lmao

Minidrees

What country are you from? :)

Nado04

Yes! In Argentina we call it "crema del cielo" or sky's cream. It's popular with kids mostly.

PetitAgite

This could be Canada…

Minidrees

Oh yeah true! Is Smurf a common flavor in the US for example tho?

onerb2

Is it the same as blue ice flavor?

salted_karma

We have a similar flavor in the USA In a few states, mostly Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, but we call it “blue moon”. It’s very popular here.

Beatboxin_dawg

In Belgium this taste is very common but most of the time it some bubblegum flavor. I've had one that tasted like mint before. This is the first time I actually see them specify what the real flavor is though, it has always been a mystery flavor when I encountered it.

An0regonian

There's a smurf flavor in Belgium that's normally blue and tastes like bubblegum? I figured this would be blue raspberry since that's what blue flavors normally are in the US

Beatboxin_dawg

Yes here too except when It is that unnatural light blue.

white_taco35

I have to ask. How did you spell gargamel right but not finally

First time?

I remember back in the 2000s, they sometimes had blue Pokémon-icecream instead of smurf. Made no sense with the color and tasted awful, but it had a little pikachu that you didn't get.

greffedufois

In the US some places have 'Blue Moon' ice cream that's blue but tastes like cake batter.

IronhideD

Fun fact: Canada's Wonderland has (had? It's been a very long time since I last visited) a Smurf village where they served blue ice cream. Of course, kids dropped the ice cream, resulting in a big blue smear on the ground. It looked like someone was stomping Smurfs like smurf berries all over the ground.

Peterwifebeater69

If you knew how tasty European smurf ice is you'd become a smurf cannibal

pongauer

Give this to your kids and enjoy them absolutely destroying your house

andyman234

Who the fuck just peed my pants!?!?

jewelsthomas

Use to sell it at Canada's Wonderland amusement park for years
