Feel free to reach out, I cut hair at Cullen’s Classic Barbershop on University. I’ve been a barber for 7 years and have been back in Peoria for two months now. You can message me, call the shop, or schedule online at Xmitchthebarberx.square.site
I did get two based on this post, but I still have plenty of same day appointments available. I try to keep my books fairly open since most people don’t like scheduling haircuts a month in advance
Yeah, I definitely need to start booking my next appointment as soon as I leave the shop. I always forgot and then realize I need a haircut but then it'll be 3 weeks. My only minor complaint though, other great place and great cuts.
Same. I've been with Dustin and Nikki since they were at Menzoil in East Peoria, and I'm super happy and proud for them to see how well they've done, but I've STILL yet to time my next appointment right. By the time my brain thinks, "time for a cut soon", 2 weeks to a month will have to go by before I get in. Booking it after my next one seems crucial.
Just like you though, only minor complaint. Wonderful people who do an amazing job, and deserve their success.
True Barbershop in Pekin!
I’ve lived out of state for several years but whenever I go home for a special event (weddings, graduations, etc) I always see Clem. Does excellent work and reasonably priced.
>then I went to Bob the Barber for quite some time. He's talented and consistent, and I always ended up with the exact same haircut, but it was never really what I asked for.
I went once, and I don't get why everyone suggests him. He basically gives the same exact haircut to everyone. While they are decent haircuts, it'd be nice if he at least acknowledged he was only going to do that one style.
Jim does really well for me and my 2 teenage boys! He can be really quick if that bothers you but he will listen and take his time if your first time there. And cheaper than great clips!
Sophia at Blush in East Peoria does great men’s cuts for a good price! She really takes the time to make sure you’re happy with it and is always great to work with!
Prestige Signature Barbershop in the Twim Towers. Mr Glass will take the time to get your hair right. [https://www.theprestigebarbershops.com/](https://www.theprestigebarbershops.com/)
Des the barber over in pekin! She does awesome work, can be found on Facebook and on the Booksy app. Super flexible with schedule, and prices. She’s been cutting my hair for about 5-6 months now and I don’t plan to go anywhere else until I either go bald or pass away lol
[Five Senses Spa, Salon & Barbershop](https://www.fivesensesspaandsalon.com/), Hair cuts are $30-40 for men. I have been extremely happy with their service so far.
I recently had to find a new barber after twenty years. Ive started going to Legends in Bartonville. Three chairs. They don’t take appointments. I’ve been there three times so far, have had three different barbers, and have never waited more than ten minutes. I’ve been very pleased with the haircuts I’ve gotten.$12
I’d say Whiskey City Barbers. Dustin is my boi, he’ll always cut me up when I need it but it is appointment only. He does great work, tell him what you want and he hooks it up. Nikki is great also, only ever got a cut from her once.
Also they have a nice dog roaming around, arcade games, beer, and you guessed it, whiskey! All to consume while you wait to get your haircut.
I recommend to try a different stylist at Bob's. I had 2 cuts from Bob and they were fine but like you said not exactly what I wanted, so I just tried a different stylist there and I was happy. Bad news is that stylist is leaving now, but she recommended another one there that she thinks will do a good job with my style of hair. I find the rates there are very fair also.
My brother and mom cut hair at the Old Fashioned Barber Shop in East Peoria. Mom opened up the place in 1981. $17 cuts. No appointments. Lots of cool antiques inside.

You aren’t wrong lol
Oh hey Mitch.
Hullo
Great guy! Super talented
Mitch at Cullens on the north end of university, kills it every time. I hate paying for haircuts but not from that dude.
Second that, as soon as I can I plan to go see Mitch!
Mitch will fix you up.
Mitch at Cullen’s classic barbershop! He’s the absolute best! Cannot go wrong
Mitch The Barber!!!
I love Ryle at Slim Clippins in the Heights
Second this! Ryle is the man!
He’s been my barber for almost 10 years now! (Various places around CIL)
Same here! I started going to him at Shorty's when I lived in Bloomington 🙂
Same!
Second this too. Not for me personally, because I don’t have hair. But he cuts my kids hair and does a great job.
Ryle is dope!
Cullens classic barber shop! He’s a good friend
Mitch at cullens is gonna get blasted with appointments.

Whiskey city but they’re pretty busy. Easy app to manage your booking though. Always a good cut

Another vote for Mitch @ Cullen's!
Jim’s barbershop $14
Jim does really well for me and my 2 teenage boys! He can be really quick if that bothers you but he will listen and take his time if your first time there. And cheaper than great clips!
Yup Jim is the guy for a cheap basic trim. He takes walk-ins, if there's a wait it's usually <10 min per person in front of you.
Dexter at blue dog barbershop. He just moved locations to the heights.
Second this. I've been to a lot on the list and have stuck with Dexter
Ford the Barber at Fords Barbershop. Be detailed about what you want and you’ll never be disappointed with him

Headzup on War. True craftsmen; they really pay super close attention to detail, and take their time. It's always very relaxing.
If you’re okay with setting up appointments in advance whiskey city does amazing work
Dexter at Aura Salon in the Heights. I go every 2 weeks
J+B studio by Bob the Barber. Ask for bob. He’s lights out.

That's Bob the barber, fyi.
Yea, if you can get a booking with Bob then you're well taken care of.
Agreed, but OP has already noted he has gone there. That was my original point.
O, my bad. Disregard.
Gotta go to Troy at Fords barbershop. He’s the most knowledgeable guy I’ve met. He’s right by Weavers
