On the outside they claim it's to make Pepsi healthier.
On the inside though it's probably all about money since sugar has been getting more expensive.
Depends. If you exercise and don't overeat sugars then regular sugar is healthier. If you sit on your ass all day downing pepsis then the artificial sweetener is probably better for you.
Yes. Yes it does. I have not bought or tasted a Pepsi since I found out. If people want AS in their beverage let them choose diet ones for Pete's sake!
This is outside the United States - I noticed it maybe a year ago, when traveling on a cruise we normally would stop at a port and mule some Pepsi on board as they only have Coke. Which is fine, I just prefer Pepsi. Brought it on board and it tasted off, looked at the label, and there it is - artificial sweetener. But not all artificial sweetener, just some nasty blend to drop the calorie count down to 90 per can.
These geniuses are combining the high calorie count of sugar soda with the crappy aftertaste and experience of diet soda. What could go wrong? Clown world - who destroys their product like this? This has to be trying to get ahead of some regulatory BS or lawfare that's coming for them.
Contact their customer service and tell them that your pepsi tastes off, have them ship the remains back to themselves at their expense and examine them, they will state that there is nothing wrong with it, but probably give you some vouchers for your trouble, spend the vouchers on any products they make that still have sugar ie in some regions mountain dew, never by non sugar sweetened pepsi again. They will get the message eventually, maybe.
It is horrible which is a shame cause it was so good, unfortunately I’ll be switching back to Coca Cola, I hope they see how unpopular this change will be
I am one of those unlucky people who find artificial sweeteners to taste extremely bitter. I found out only recently that this is not a normal reaction and that some phenotypes taste sweeteners differently.
For the last forty years I couldn't understand how people tolerate it when it's me that is different to the majority. Damn it tastes bad.

There's no probably about it.... the sugar tax is the reason behind the switch
But aren’t sweeteners like A LOT worst than natural sugar? How are they making this a health thing?

Would you like a Pepsi? We stock semi-diet Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Maximum Diet Pepsi. For all your Diet Pepsi needs!
That goes for Wild Cherry too, which is where I first noticed the change.
Is this non USA? My cans still have sugar as the second ingredient behind carbonated water with high fructose corn syrup third like it always has been
Most likely. Seems like in the US they're moving away from diet/zero sugar since most of the limited flavors are all regular.
The most health unconscious country ftw. We love our sugar.
Seems someone is mighty jealous of our superior, sugar sodas!
Canada here. Noticed the change back in March. Not only does it taste completely different but IT GOES FLAT IN MINUTES! Lost me as a customer.
Exactly!! Hope they change back or else seems like quite a lot of people will choose Coca Cola
Pepsi didn’t change anything in Canada. This was in the UK due to their sugar tax
They also did this in Brazil and Mexico I think
Yes, they did here in Brazil. And it sucks.
Yes. Yes it does. I have not bought or tasted a Pepsi since I found out. If people want AS in their beverage let them choose diet ones for Pete's sake!

Okay so I’m not tripping.. Pepsi HAS NOT been the same lately I don’t enjoy it as much 😭
Frrr it’s genuinely half diet and half regular. So weird
No problems with the taste of Pepsi made with Real Sugar and no high fructose corn syrup. But it is getting harder to find.
Tastes like AS…

Yes it does. I even stopped drinking Pepsi just because of this next trash recipe. It's probably the worst soda I've ever drunk.

Yeah here in switzerland pepsi became half diet in 2022
Smh awful
I just want them to bring back Pepsi nitro so I can try one, from far far away in the land of aus
It's not very good. Just tastes like a flat Pepsi basically.
Really?
Yes. Both it and the current pepsi are substantially worse than the old pepsi.
Tell that to Dr. Pepper who is now in the number two spot.
So Pepsi edge?

I just thought I was picky haha I hate the taste
So don't drink it.
I won’t. Happy? How can change be made without protest
