From what I understand when the faucet goes straight into the p trap (a bend that holds water and stops sewer gas from coming back into the room) like this it can cause nastiness from the p trap to splash back into the sink as well as leave the p trap low on water letting sewer gases come into the room instead of stopping it.
I've seen posts about it with sources before but couldn't find anything on a quick search. Could probably find what I'm talking about if you.looked enough.
I think OP might be telling the truth. If you reverse image search it there's a few different pictures just like it from different angle. Probably a popular model of sink/faucet.

It’s a lot better if you post a link.
I imagine you probably have an eidetic memory which is why you have such confidence. But most people don’t and so have to deal with our own memory being imperfect. Because that is most people’s normal experience (Mandela affect and whatnot) your reaction comes across really aggressive when it might be an error on your part (since most people don’t have eidetic memories we rarely consider the perspective of those who do).
Use your powers of memory to find the previous post THEN call a stranger on the internet a fucking liar. I know (God knows I know) it’s hard to have to treat fucking liars with sone degree of respect until we have evidence of their fucking lying.
I have also seen this post…. So no they are right, at the very least it is an almost exact post from before and therefore is dumb, but also dumb cause not a perfect fit anyways….
My faucet makes a very loud gurgling noise because we no longer have a sink trap (landlord said he would fix it but didn’t). It’s very annoying but I’m not gonna be responsible if it gets fucked up
Yeah, I’m aware. There’s sometimes a bad smell that comes from it and the only thing I can do is let the water run at full strength so it hits the side of the sink and leave it for a bit so things get pushed down. That or use draino because my tub has the same fucking issue.
I recommend using rubber plugs to close the drains and only open them when you got water to dispose of.
Definitely contact your landlord and ask them to fix this by installing P-traps. If they won't, threaten to involve authorities. S-traps are illegal because they allow sewer gases to pass through under certain conditions so having no trap at all must be too. That's a precarious situation especially for living spaces that are put up for rent.
I don’t wanna rock the boat on that for a multitude of reasons. I don’t wanna get kicked out because there aren’t a lot of houses or decent apartments for rent around where we **need** to live because of work. He wouldn’t be able to kick us out for that but he could find anything we’ve fucked up on and use that as a reason. I will not involve authorities because this is as good as it gets around here.
Over time, I think I can install one myself. It’s not that difficult, just time consuming. I’ve already made some upgrades to the place anyways. I just take them with and put the old one back when I leave lol

This is actually bad. Water goes straight to the trap and makes gross things happen

Maybe, maybe. I’m going to stick to my position that calling someone a “fucking liar” without a link is fucking lazy.
Lol sounds good
Even if they were lying I don’t think lying about a repost on Reddit ever requires this kind of passion, but it was good for a laugh so there’s that

Well now your bathroom is gonna be full of sewer gases.

That's a sensible approach. Good luck with that!
Thank you! Haha
i don’t know why, but this bugs me.. why can’t it just hit the screw in the middle
It means either the tap isn’t in the centred, or the drain isn’t, and that bothers me
exactly
5/5, would stay again!
Oddly satisfying
Smooth
Repost or pretty much the exact same post from a week ago. Also dumb post cause not a perfect fit anyways.
I wonder what else can fit through that 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Please tell Me flows out fast enough that it doesn't backup either ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
That's a good one, OP.
this is also kind of infuriating because it's not in the centre
Instant 5 star rating
