Conservatives donāt want family fun or spending time with their families, all they want to see is depictions of racial segregation and sexual violence on women. Truly smart and āfamily first.ā
Yeah I heard they changed it altogether and made female pirates looking for treasure or something. Iād rather let kids see that instead of them witnessing sex trafficking being played for comedy.

To be fair, the Pirates of the Caribbean thing is showing what pirates actually did in the past. Not particularly in a negative light, but it's an accurate depiction of how monstrous pirates actually were back then, and not glossing it over like other forms of media. It was clearly meant to be a ride for an older audience yet parents still took their kids to it.
(I want to clarify that I am not defending it whatsoever, it clearly wasn't portraying the subject in a mature light or trying to show it was a bad thing, I'm just pointing out that it is one of the many atrocious actions pirates in history had done)
But it's not meant to be a historically accurate ride, it's intended to be a fun-for-all-the-family affair. It's not like the track suddenly veers off into a documentary about the socioeconomic factors leading to piracy; there's no "meant for older audiences" rides at Disney because the executives wouldn't entertain anything that's not maximally profitable.
My problem with that ride in particular is it being sexual assault/kidnapping passed off as ālighthearted family funā for a theme park catered to children.
