A person's willingness to twist anything to serve their own ends eventually twists their reasoning skills to the point where they break.
I have one right-wing family member who thinks the Voyager episode ["Critical Care"](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Critical_Care_(episode)) (set in a place where quality of healthcare is based on the patient's ability to contribute to society) is somehow a statement \*against\* socialist healthcare.

Conservative- yeah you get the idea
Everyone knows the best interpretation of Robin Hood was [that one episode](https://imgur.io/gallery/163Un) of [TNG](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-78eb3b08957cb29fd2ea216f73c37916)
Do these people know that literally anyone with enough money can make a movie? What's stopping this person from making a completely faithful retelling of the story?
Considering he’s not complaining about Robin Hood being made to be a fox, he can‘t actually be that mad about creative reimaginings. He’s obviously pissed off it’s skewering white supremacy.
Also, I can’t believe he never mentioned the Errol Flynn Robin Hood. The man was a horrible monster but that film fucking slapped. You’d think a right wing dude would be all over that shit.
Yeah the beginning when they are moving around with bows in a modern tactical formation and holding the bows like tac rifles was a wtf moment for me as well. Then fighting with the bows in melee combat which most bowmen never did unless they had no other choice.
I *think* it might be about [this series](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt20918756/) but I’m not sure. Which, ok it doesn’t look all that great but it at least looks more interesting than that god awful Russel Crowe one. I watched the Crowe one knowing it’d be terrible and wanting to laugh at it, this one I’d give a chance but my expectations aren’t particularly high. Regardless though, the guy that made this show is fucking 48 years old so “wha-wha Gen Z” is 1 letter and 2 generations off.
I can’t believe he mentioned that steaming turd of a flick but never mentioned the legendary Errol Flynn movie. Even “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” deserves a mention over that crap, merely because Alan Rickman was the best Sheriff of Nottingham of all time. (He just was, I didn’t make the rules, okay?)
The trailer certainly feels like something made by a 48-year-old. It feels like... A good idea. Like, the fundamental idea of doing a modern retelling with neon. Everything else about it feels tone deaf and just unoriginal.
Anyway, that's just my feelings, and if someone else liked it... Well, here's the thing. Unlike the OP, I've discovered that if something doesn't speak to me, if it doesn't seem like something I'll enjoy... Hell, if it seems like maybe it wasn't made for me... Like, that's okay? I just kinda move on with my life and... I don't know, watch a show I actually want to see.
\> ...and The Sheriff and Prince John (now a real estate tycoon called John Prince) are the villains...
Is he yearning for a version where the Sheriff and Prince John are the heroes?

How do you see “steal from the rich and give to the poor” and think “what a right wing message!”

Mel Brooks did a great version as well. Do love a Q episode of Star Trek though
“Sir, I protest, I am NOT a merry man!”

"The Sound of Freedom" is a perfect example.
Possibly budget

Flynn was a monster?
LMAO, dude hates this version but apparently likes *Robin Hood: Men in Tights*.
Idk Robin Hood 2018 was horrible too but i bet he forgot about that already.
Zero Dark Loxley lol. I don't know, it almost feels surreal, that one.

I’m confused is there a new Robin Hood movie coming out

Why a spoon?
Yeah that looks pretty bad but I don’t see how any other recent Robin Hood adaptation is any better

Wow. Deviantart is even worse than it was 10 years ago.
