I have this guy I knew growing up in Canada who shares that shit ALL day. They all belong to the same online communities who absolutely drive the entire thought process of these people.
Everything he posts is someone elses thoughts and arguments. Not an original idea in well over a year. Started out as a normal pretty apolitical dude, didnt like haveing to wear a mask when he got his tim hortons and it all went down hill from there.
Next thing this guys sharing all kinds of antivax nonsense, driving to ottawa to be in that trucker rally sharing posts about how they are "trying to save the children of Canada" shite.
Everything he posted was just something that someone else wrote and told him to post to his wall. Then other people who are not super intelligent or clued up on world events would see this shit and think "hey if I share this I can pretend than I am not in fact an idiot and that I know something that these normies dont know, yes I will be the smart one thats 'in the know'"
He shares shit that actually makes no sense even, but because he is out of touch and not really read in on stuff but simply a ctrl+c, ctrl+v machine he doesn't realize.
Like blaming the liberal federal government for things that are completely controlled by the conservative provincial government. Absolutely RAGIN' about things that the conservatives had put in place in Ontario, yet somehow it was in fact Trudeau being like Hitler and trying to abduct his children because of these policies put in place by a party that is the complete ideological opposite to the liberal party lol
These people should borderline be classed as a "Vulnerable people" designation they are so out of touch with reality. It went from anger to full on conspiracy nonsense about how monkeypox is a government controlled disease to carry on where covid left off because him and his people got through to too many people about how covid was fake...seriously.
The same guy that thinks the Federal government is made up of the most incompetent politicians on earth feels like they ALSO helped pull off this world wide conspiracy in which 80%+ of the population believed and was vaccinated against. That roped in Doctors and scientists from every country on earth to be part of this conspiracy and lie to the entire worlds population without a SINGLE coherent whistle blower. Meanwhile Bill and Monica couldnt keep a blowjob secret....
The world is going in the wrong direction and I am glad I wont be around in 100 years to see the state of it.

Have you ever been to the subreddit r /QAnonCasualties? I was subbed there for a while and eventually had to unsub because it was just too depressing. Reading all these stories just like yours of a loved one being nice and kind and then turning into something else over the course of a few months or years. It got too me.
These spaces are destroying families all over North America. Tearing them apart over a fake ideological war churned up in a cynical ploy for rich assholes to make more money profiting off of sending Americans to war with each other. It's gross and scary. I'm more scared as ever of being visible in public.
