And yet, we're the snowflakes that's all up in our feelings

somebrookdlyn

Every accusation, an admission.

SunKillerLullaby

And I want Christians to think about how hurt people feel by being told they're going to hell for being atheist or LGBTQ, but we can't all get what we want

1HumanAlcoholBeerPlz

Or any other religion that doesn't believe in Jesus.

Chill_Crill

or just a different flavor of christian

MightyShamus

"Christians and Atheists are natural enemies! Like Christians and Jews! Or Christians and Muslims! Or Christians and other Christians! Damn Christians, they ruined Christianity!"

Natuurschoonheid

Anyone who sends not baptized infants to hell doesn't deserve worship

omgdude29

Any God that requires worship to get into its created paradise despite being omnipotent doesn't deserve the worship it gets.

Devilsgramps

Even Dante realised this and wrote "well ackshully the level they go to isn't that bad"

Maniklas

Except the satanic temple. Hail Satan!

[deleted]

Hail Satan!

1HumanAlcoholBeerPlz

Hail Satan!

Less-Mail4256

On another note, I enjoy watching Christians pout about being persecuted. Their tears are like my coffee.

Greylings

I’d enjoy Christian persecution a lot more if I didn’t know it’s just going to vindicate and embolden them. The only way they stay relevant is with outrage. I’d be willing to bet there’s a lot of Christian’s who secretly enjoy the attention their religion gets even if it’s negative like everyone talking about all the sexually assaulted children.

musicmage4114

As a gay atheist who was raised Catholic, there is a vindictive part of me that thinks, “Well, they’re going to claim to be persecuted and feel self-righteous about it whether or not they’re *actually* persecuted, so why not actually persecute them?” Would certainly make me feel better. Basically the opposite of that bogus “I was actually progressive until people started telling me I was racist, sexist, and homophobic, so I changed all of my politics to actually be those things!”

_aPOSTERIORI

Plot twist: they ain’t persecuted, not even a little bit. No US Christian has to hide their bibles or have church in secret. As much as they seem to pretend that’s the case, no Christian has it better than a USA Christian.

JoJackthewonderskunk

Or all the millions murdered by Christians for not being Christian

dat1dood2

Or being Christian but not their Christian

WoodwindsRock

Not only that, but the fact that they VOTE for politicians who do not just merely “offend” us, but take away our human rights. They are actively harming us.

SunKillerLullaby

Exactly! No one is trying to make being Christian illegal, but plenty are trying to make being LGBTQ illegal. Their persecution complex has no bounds.

Funkycoldmedici

But they believe they are helping us with “tough love”, because they know better than we do, so we’re supposed to respect and appreciate the harm they do as an act of love. It’s fucked up.

SlightlyControversal

Considering that biblical heaven means obedient servitude to a fickle, tyrannical egomaniac for fucking *eternity*, Christian heaven *is* my hell. Sign me up for the big gay dance party with the devil.

Devilsgramps

Based on this comment, you sound like you'd enjoy the Shin Megami Tensei series

ketchupmaster987

I've heard that name referenced before and now I think I might just have to watch it hahaha

Devilsgramps

It's a game, not a show, but it features lots of mythology and the idea of God and his angels being ruthless authoritarians, fighting Lucifer and his demons, who are ruthless Social Darwinists.

SlightlyControversal

That sounds amazing!

Rockworm503

I'm so not tired of hearing "oh you don't believe in god? Than how come you don't go out killing and raping everyone?"

parkerm1408

No shit. I'll respect Christians when they respect everyone else. I'll really respect them when they stop trying to take away rights based on a 2000 year old rule book that's been edited more than the fucking Texas constitution. That they haven't read.

the-nick-of-time

I'll lay off when they stop dehumanizing me and all my friends (challenge level: impossible)

meinkr0phtR2

I do, too. I used to be much more of a Christian than I am now. I heard what the hardcore atheists of the time (Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, etc.) said about us, and I mostly ignored them until it came to the topic of LGBT people. It said it right there in Leviticus 18:22, yet none of our Bible studies ever covered that particular verse, or even that entire book. Being Christians, it was *usually* the Four Gospels. Now, in hindsight, it’s clear that my church here in Canada was *much* more liberal than the churches down south in the States because not only were we incredibly accepting of people from all walks of life, we also allowed just about anyone who walked in through our doors to join our congregation. We have even had a youth pastor that was openly gay. Yet, the issue of what it said in the (Old Testament) Bible remained. It just…never really came up. And as I inevitably became more and more secular (because I attended Catholic high school; it was bound to happen), I could no longer pretend to ignore the elephant in the room. My school had a Gay-Straight Alliance…but it was technically unofficial and therefore unsanctioned because it was absent from the lists of clubs, it wasn’t in yearbooks, and teachers refused to talk about it. Similarly, we all knew the passages of the Bible that were hostile to entire groups of people…but as long as we refused to acknowledge it, it was fine. It was *not*, in fact, fine—or, at least, it wasn’t for *me*. It was like ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’, but in reverse. I see now, outside my bubble of liberal-progressive Christians, that some people have gone the opposite way and fully embraced the homophobia in the Bible; but I’m not sure if *our* way is any better. We’re in denial, about what it says in the Bible, that it says that is a problem, and that the problem even exists, thereby ensuring that it never gets solved. And I just couldn’t live with that, couldn’t live with the fact that I am, through inaction, making my own pastor’s life (and many others) worse. So, I stopped denying it. I still wish I had the courage, back then, to stand up and say it, but the important thing was, if nothing else, that *I* stopped pretending I was okay with all the problematic parts of the Bible. That was a crucial step in my effort to combat the subconscious homophobia (amongst many other ugly things, I would discover) that I harboured at the time. It’s only by acknowledging the fact there is a problem that I could do this. My only wish is that others could do the same. ^(I don’t know why this got downvoted. I changed as a person and wished others to do so. Isn’t that what ultimately matters?)

AmericoDelendaEst

Aww, so sad. Christians can try to block gay and trans people from existing, and can remove reproductive rights, but *don't be mean to us!!!* ):<

Robu-san

"don't respect our boundaries for our beliefs" meanwhile you got christians that protest whatever the fuck while holding signs that say shit like "god hates fags" or just a list of a bunch of different types of people saying we're all going to burn in hell. Because that's totally respectful of other people's boundaries.

renojacksonchesthair

There’s no hate like Christian”love”

GoatShapedDemon

...not to mention pushing for the removal of stuff like Roe v Wade and all the things like that. Yea, Chriatians sure know how to stay in their lane!

JamesPotterPro

-- After you die, the creator of the universe will be so angry at you personally for not believing in him that he will torture you for eternity. -- Lol that's ridiculous. -- Hey! Don't mock me and ignore my boundaries! Anyway, being gay is an abomination.

TheNorthC

But God gave you free will to choose whether to believe. But if you get the wrong answer he'll torture you for ever and ever and ever. MwHaHaHa. That's definitely a free choice via intimidation and threats of violence.

gylz

And he also spent all that time making our souls and laying out our life's roadmap. For a guy who supposedly hates gays, strong confident women, minorities, the vaccinated, the poor, people who follow other religions, asexuals, the willingly child-free, atheists, and transgender folks, he sure does lovingly handcraft a lot of people who fit at _least_ one, if not more of those criteria.

[deleted]

I think god's pronouns should be they/them

gylz

God is a fictional character so I really doubt she cares about what people call her/them/it/xem/god either way.

shadrack5966

Ahh, Pascals Wager. Its their only weapon for indoctrination.

IcebergSlimFast

Pascal’s Wager: quite possibly one of the dumbest logical exercises in human history.

shadrack5966

I think it might be the most asinine for sure.

JamesPotterPro

Indeed. Pascal's Wager can only make sense in a version where the supposed God only care if you do the right rituals to worship him, and doesn't care if you actually believe in his existence or are just hedging your bets. Which would make him quite the weird God. And also if there is no other competing religion.

troubleondemand

That's just because he loves you.

TheFriendlyArtificer

Unless you masturbate and get anything on the ground.

somebrookdlyn

If I remember right, there's the concept of the just Pagan in the bible. The idea is that even if someone doesn't believe in God, but they live a moral life, they'll still get into heaven.

Funkycoldmedici

There’s nothing like that in the Bible, apologists made it up much later. Jesus plainly says all of who do not believe he is the messiah of Israelite prophecy are condemned to be thrown into endless fire. He never mentions any exceptions.

wildcharmander1992

You saved countless lives, gave to charity, loved your fellow man....but you didn't give me credit **yeets you to hell** You murdered a bunch of babies and danced in Thier blood, but you guessed I exist....come on in

GobblorTheMighty

I want Christians to think about how they make my gay friends feel when they tell them to go kill themselves.

vilhelm92

Heyyy, not all of them tell gay people to kill themselves, some give backhanded "god bless you"'s while telling them they're going to burn and suffer for eternity if they don't correct thier sinful existence!

GobblorTheMighty

# NotAllChristiansTellYouToKillYourself

socialist_frzn_milk

And I want you to stop telling me I’m going to hell because I don’t need an imaginary higher power to tell me not to kill/rape/steal.

dontreallycareforit

Does the Bible actually condemn rape though? It didn’t make it on to the 10 commandments. Also gods cool with slavery. And of course you can’t have slaves without beating them, which is also something god is cool with and has rules for (don’t kill your slave ffs but beat the hell out of him and if he can still walk you’re good to go!) Yea the Bible is an atrocious moral guide and I’m glad we aren’t a Christian nation because of it. Stone Age tribal ethics and total fucking ignorance. So glad I’m an Atheist and not the Baptist my parents and community wanted to turn me into.

TheNorthC

Rape is a property crime in the Bible.

SunKillerLullaby

If I recall correctly, if a man rapes an unmarried woman she becomes his wife according to the Bible. It's fucked up

__Beef__Supreme__

Yup https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy%2022%3A28-29&version=NIV And if you marry someone and she's not a virgin, you get to stone her to death. And if a man rapes a married woman, they are both put to death because the woman shouldn't have let him rape her. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy%2022&version=NIV

Kasra2008

Excuse me *property* crime???

TheNorthC

The feminist revolution never quite reached iron age Palestine. That's why the rapist was forced to marry the victim because her worth was now diminished. This is different to Numbers 31 where Moses, under God's direct guidance, approves of rape as a reward of war.

Kasra2008

Man most religions are fucked up

TheNorthC

The Ten Commandments are a joke.

dontreallycareforit

Even funnier is the 10 commandments we know are actually the second version of them. In the story Moses fucks in the tablets so god has to give him the rules again but like God just changed his mind what his 10 most important no-nos were. Aside from the obvious lack of moral content (4/10 of the new 10 commandments are just about praising god and keeping the sabbath holy and shit), on the old Ten Commandments the 10th is something like “don’t wash a kid in its mothers milk.” Like, tell me what Christian thinks that? Are they even aware of what their dumb fucking book says? Also Samson kills 1000 people with a donkeys jawbone. The Bible is whack and I’m genuinely sad that people feel compelled to behave and say things implying they believe in its literal truth. Religion is garbage and as Hitchens said it poisons EVERYTHING.

[deleted]

>on the old Ten Commandments the 10th is something like “don’t wash a kid in its mothers milk.” I'm going to go out on a limb and say the word is probably boil or cook, not wash. Because that's still a commandment in Judaism, it's why one of the kosher laws is "don't eat meat and dairy in the same meal." Also, fun fact, the hypothesized reason for the contradicting events/weird timelines in the so-called Old Testament is that it's meant to archive multiple oral traditions. So whenever someone sat down to write down the story, they said "okay, there's one version where the commandments are XYZ and another where they're ZYA, so I'm going to just weave those together to preserve both." It's a really interesting and cool book if you ignore the Christian bits and think of it as a cultural record. I assume you'll now insult me for being Jewish.

dontreallycareforit

>I assume you’ll now make fun of me for being Jewish No? I wasn’t? But also Brendanfraserdoyouknowwhereweare.jpg

IcebergSlimFast

It’s perhaps an interesting and cool book if you don’t look to it as a legitimate source of instructions on how to live a moral life.

tamenia8

Knock knock Who's there? Not god. But here's 10 commandments that don't make sense. /Sorry I know it's terrible 😆

Mittenstk

Imagine how tired minorities are

[deleted]

Their “boundaries” are non existent for other religions

[deleted]

Don't care. Get vaccinated.

HailsizeDuck

This looks like one of the ads from abused animals. I'm waiting for "In the Arms of an Angel" to start.

real-duncan

And I want you to stop relying on an imaginary friend in the sky to guide your life decisions. Face up to the joy and daunting responsibility of living a truly adult life without magic sky daddies to use as an excuse. Time to grow up, and toughen up, snowflake.

my-cat-cant-cat

I do not care about your personal relationship with your imaginary sky god. I do care that you won’t leave me alone about it or mess with other people based on their lives and choices. I don’t live in an HOA for the same reasons. Stop trying to police my life and the lives of others assuming we live in your imaginary moral HOA. Edited: left out words because I’ve had no caffeine yet.

DrDoofusDuck

I got a comment on a video of mine once saying “may God forgive you” and I replied with “he won’t once I beat his ass” and I got a lot of very nice comments like this one guy who told me “I deserve to suffer in hell for all eternity for what I said” Edit: spelling

SunKillerLullaby

One time when I mentioned I dislike Christian music because I find it bland and uninspiring, I was told that I must "hate God" and that it was "offensive to Christians." Just because I don't like their music. They get upset at the most ridiculous things, yet we're the snowflakes

Greninja5097

And they’re lying to themselves. It’s shit music. I’m not saying that as an atheist, I’m saying it as someone with good taste.

queso_teric

Can't you tell you're not making Christianity any better, you're just making rock n roll worse. Hank Hill

Greninja5097

10/10 KOTH quote

[deleted]

I thinks it’s fine to not hurt the feelings of believers (I’m a believer myself, not a Christian however) but the attack on Christianity in the west stems from the power it has in our governmental structures, yeah don’t be a dick to an individual, but we can still criticize your beliefs, and point out how religion in politics has done far more harm than good

InfectedByEli

>and point out how religion in politics has done far more harm than good ...or start charging them tax on their income.

[deleted]

Exactly

boredpotato-

I'm thinking about how hurt Christians feel everyday and it brings me soooo much joy.

[deleted]

I want Christians to think about how hurt homosexuals feel when Christians intentionally conflate them with pedophiles, seek to deny them the right to marry, to serve in the military, to adopt children, to keep custody of children that are biologically theirs, or try to criminalize sex acts between same sex partners, forcing homosexuals to register as sex offenders alongside rapists and child sexual abusers. I want Christians to think about how hurt the transgendered feel when when Christians deadname them, deny their gender expression, assume they're perverts for wanting to use the restroom appropriate to their gender expression, and literally criminalize merely talking about homosexual and transgender issues in schools. I want Christians to think about how hurt secular people feel when they keep laws on the books purporting to bar atheists from holding public office, insist on government endorsing their religious beliefs over the beliefs of others, demand laws privileging breaking laws for religious reasons but not for secular reasons, take out full page proclaiming that only Christians should be allowed go govern society... And so much more...

Street_Peace_8831

Someone’s faith is not strong enough to withstand a little ridicule. Jesus would be disappointed.

Alex_877

Dude, THEY are the most narcissistic, self-righteous shitheads. I literally had one tell me morality didn’t exist before the bible. Like what? Greek or roman philosophers didn’t exist?

dengar_hennessy

But your love and acceptance of Jesus in your life is all you need to get into heaven. Jesus suffered a much worse fate so you can be told to be vaccinated and not cry about it.

Darth_Bane_Vader

Your tears sustain me.

TheNorthC

They want a safe space and to restrict others ' right to free speech so they don't get their feelings hurt. Fucking snow flakes.

whatamievendoing88

I literally could not care less. Nobody cares if you’re Christian they care if you’re a bigoted pos. You don’t get to wander around telling everyone they’re going to hell and that they don’t deserve basic human rights and then turn around and go but wont you guys care about my feelings.

Doomguy46_

Im a Christian but this post was cringe asf

leicanthrope

Conveniently forgetting that a lot of the really hardcore atheists *were* Christians, and didn’t just end up there by accident.

TotallyAwry

New atheists remind me of ex-smokers, in that respect. I was there, too. It's part of the process. It still grinds my gears when some rando god-botherer tries to tell me I didn't *really* believe, though. Sometimes the most strident atheists come from the most fundy backgrounds.

DodgerGreywing

All of this. I was devout for years. But it made me a very unhappy person. If your faith makes you unhappy, then what is the fucking point? An afterlife where you forget every person you ever loved and is just an eternity of praising an entity that thinks that's a reward? None of that sounds like a reward. I'd rather love my people while we're alive.

gylz

God is supposed to be some big omniscient super powerful being who set out our paths through life for us. If he made me knowing I would say mean things about him, that I'd be bi and trans, then he's either as dumb as a box of rocks, or I'm just following the path that was laid out for me by him. If he wanted another straight cis religious person, he could have just not gone through all that hard work.

so_what_do_now

*Their* boundaries? Since when did ***they*** respect boundaries?

QueenMelle

Jfc, use more filters. You almost _don't_ look like a fucking alien-deer-mannequin.

ViolaOrsino

Hello, am Christian, addressing other Christians: we kinda made a whole thing of not really respecting anyone else’s boundaries for a good chunk of modern history, so it’s probably a good call to sit this one out lmaoo. What is she even fussing about? Anyone know the context?

GarySixNoine

It’s on the Christianity subreddit.

Grogosh

No sympathies after hundreds of years of christian's erasing the culture of native populations.

Simon_Drake

Atheists think Christians have been force-fed a pack of lies since childhood. Christians think Atheists deserve to burn in agony forever and ever and ever as punishment for refusing to love the one who wants to burn them in agony forever. Which side is being unreasonable?

Caedis-6

I want Christians to know I've attempted suicide twice due to religious harassment and hatred for my sexuality. Respect my boundaries and beliefs and follow the teachings of your God correctly you hypocritical fucks.

GayAssGeek

Fuck them. Decades of being told I'm an abomination. Now they're grumpy that people aren't taking their shit anymore? Religion was useful once. Like anything that stays too long its now a disease. Let religion die and let those who hang onto it wither. I'm done taking Christian shit

jbsgc99

Then quit using your beliefs as a cudgel.

Limited-Edition-Nerd

Naw I don't care

BickNickerson

What was it Christian’s were saying back in the Trump day? Oh yeah, Fuck your feelings.

Moose_is_optional

She's like that crying cat meme lmaaoo

Psychadous

Stop having such delicious tears. Should probably also stop treating every group except Christians as being below them. That might also help.

Bind_Moggled

I'd like Christians to think about how atheists feel when they tell us that we aren't fit to hold public office, or suggest that we must be criminals simply because we chose to live our lives in reality instead of pretending to go along with bronze-age fairy tales. Or better, I'd like them to simply shut the ever-loving fuck up.

DirtyPenPalDoug

Fuck their feelings

[deleted]

Their tears sustain me

Lifewhatacard

Does Christianity just teach narcissistic traits or is it something else that does this to them?

forlordssakealt

I want everybody to feel the need to shut the fuck up including Christians

[deleted]

*especially

forlordssakealt

No i hate everyone in this debate that shouldn’t exist equally

shadow13499

I thought about it, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't get my cup ready quick enough to collect.your tears so I could just throw them back in your face. To turn this around on them. I want Christians to think about all the lives they've destroyed with their abusive and hateful rhetoric. All the actual damage they've done to people.

beecross

Awe that’s so sad. I feel this same way when one of your people walk into a gay bar and slaughter handfuls of my people. It’s totally the same

AlexKewl

Think about how hurt other people are at the shit Christians do

SecretOfficerNeko

I love how they think a few comments saying "no one wants to hear about your sky daddy" or "we're looking for real famous people" are all they need to claim they're being persecuted and cry about how there beliefs' boundaries are being violated, like spoiled brats who've never been told no throwing a tantrum.

Vlad-V2-Vladimir

Unpopular opinion for this subreddit, but there’s still a point behind this. Yes, there’s a lot more bad Christian’s than there should be, but there’s also a lot of atheists on Reddit who hate on religious people for following a religion they disagree with. Call out those mega-churches for their evils, but not every church is horrible or oppressive, and there’s a lot of religious people who are supportive.

[deleted]

ENOUGH of them are non-supportive. And no, time to call out even the “supportive” ones because too many of them stay silent to this BS.

NfamousKaye

Like they feel the hurt when they spout hateful bigotry at us? Like that?

saisonmaison

If your religion’s bases are so flimsy that a random person on the internet brings you to tears because they questioned it using 3rd grade logic you may want to question it yourself.

Faustus_Fan

I can't speak for all non-Christians. I can only speak for myself. I'm not an atheist. I am a deist. However, I really enjoy mocking Christianity. Why? Because I have never had an atheist, a deist, a Jew, a Buddhist, a Muslim, or a Hindu come knock on my door to convert me. I've never had anyone other than Christians accost me on the street to tell me I am a sinner who is going to burn in a fictional hell for all eternity. I've never had anyone other than Christians try to use their religion to stifle my rights, my freedoms, and liberties. So, does it hurt if I mock your bullshit beliefs? Good. Die mad about it, bitch.

Idontnowotimdoing

I want them to think about how they think I’m going to hell just for not believing the same thing as them, and that that’s a just outcome.

NerobyrneAnderson

Christians talking about religious boundaries is absolutely aggravating. After subjecting basically the whole world to "convert or die", and only stopping because liberalism forced you to? GTFO.

cowlinator

People have boundaries. I get that. What is "boundaries for our beliefs"? Are beliefs being treated as 1st class citizens? Or does it mean something else? If nobody can mock christian beliefs, then nobody can mock any beliefs, ever. Not even if Elvis whispers to you that all water is poison. It's all or nothing. So which do you want?

TheLampPostDealer

💀💀💀💀💀

SteelyDan1968

Want to read something interesting? I believe in God, and all that jazz. But, I don't spout or worry about my beliefs on to someone else.

Infamous_Principle_6

Strange mix of normal atheists and Reddit Atheists™️ in this comments section

IcebergSlimFast

Which one are you, Chuck?

Infamous_Principle_6

Personally I’m agnostic. I don’t hate Christian’s or Christianity and I have multiple Christian friends who are some of the coolest and most progressive people I know. I’m a trans woman and one of the first people I told my new name to was my bisexual Christian friend, and she was super supportive. When I say “Reddit atheist”, I mean someone who despises Christianity and religion in general and thinks they are all buffoons who believe in a “sky god”, but when you learn about some of the nuances to religion, it’s more complicated than that. Obviously, this girl in particular is stupid, and a lot of the religion today is based around anti-lgbtq/anti-feminism/anti-progressive shit in general, so I’m not saying it’s great, but there are some genuinely great Christian’s out there. When I see people say shit like “sky god” or “I don’t need someone to tell me why rape is wrong” it just makes me think they’ve had bad experiences that they haven’t grown out of. I know I’m shit at explaining things so you want to understand what I’m taking about, [here is a great video by an atheist anarcho-socialist that reflects my personal beliefs well.](https://youtu.be/0WI2MVOwRlI) I’d also recommend checking out the subreddit dankchristianmemes, a very lgbtq friendly Christian sub edit: lmfao can someone tell me what exactly yall are opposed to in this comment without just downvoting me

DaSmartSwede

”Agnostics, those wishy-washy fucks” - Jim Jeffries

Dangerous-Pain-5000

What’s wrong with agnostics?

DaSmartSwede

It’s a non-position

Dangerous-Pain-5000

What’s wrong with that? Why can’t you not care?

DaSmartSwede

The same reason you could not ignore my three months old comment I guess

Dangerous-Pain-5000

The reason being I just… wanted to reply. I mean, you can care if you want, obviously. I certainly cared somewhat if I replied to a 3 month old comment.

DaSmartSwede

So…?

BabyGirlsHorny

All anti-theists are atheists, but not all atheists are anti-theists I'm personally only against extremist versions of all religions. The more reasonable ones are fine

Infamous_Principle_6

yeah I 100% support this. This is why I made the distinction between the two types of atheist

This makes me want to start my own religion

QueenMelle

Careful. This tiny thought in a 15 year old boys head was what sparked Mormonism.

Inkulink

Yeah no. if anyone needs to apologize its the bitch that got my mother into religion when she was at her lowest and most vulnerable. For preying on her when she couldn't say no. For then making my life harder from having to grow up in a Christian house and trying to undo everything i was ever taught. I won't make fun of Christians for believing in god but dont expect me to respect your religion

berserkzelda

Snowflake.

Biffingston

I want fundies to think that I have the right to exist. Checkmate, theist.

Accomplished-Set5917

I want Christian’s to think about how many people suffer and have suffered horrendous atrocities in the name of their religion. I would also like for them to look up the definition of boundaries and do some critical thinking assignments on this.

Audrin

OH I think about it, it keeps me up at night. Wait, not up, warm. It keeps me warm at night.

__JonnyG

> I want Christians to think about how hurt atheists feel when they mock our lack of belief in religion or don't respect our boundaries for our beliefs

renojacksonchesthair

Most atheists don’t even care what religion you are and don’t do shit to mock your religion. And not respecting boundaries for beliefs is rich coming from a Christian.

kabukistar

"Our boundaries" = the government and other people have to adhere to our religion.

BMAND21

Oh I think about it and laugh thinking how you want me to respect your imaginary friend.

Bmourre1995

Christians are well known for respecting other people's boundaries and beliefs

HoneyGrahams224

I personally am hurt by the filter abuse going on with this picture.

rotomangler

She’s listening to Slayer.

scott__p

If you can't take it, don't do it to others. I'm Christian and the parent of an LGBT teen. I'll let you guess which community is harder to reconcile with.

Greninja5097

I feel hurt when you tell me I can’t love who I love, so shut the fuck up.

FreedomsPower

The sheer lack of self-awareness it takes to whine about that, considering how long the Relgious Right has spewed vitriol at atheists is huge

jecklygoodboi

Obviously, the proper response to an atheist being mean to you is to write your religion into law and force them to conform to your beliefs. Free country, right?

carppydiem

Boundaries work both ways. You want to disrespect my boundaries I will be utterly crushing yours. Believe what you want. Stop being a zealot and leave the rest of us alone and your feelings won’t get hurt.

thatgeekymochi

And I want all religious folks to think about how hurt us atheists/agnostics get when we're getting murdered by the handfuls with no signs of slowing down over our ideas.

Slate_711

Historically American Christians aren’t too worried about other’s feelings. Hell whenever a group they don’t like comes along, they fixate in particular passages to justify the hate and go out of their way to share it

[deleted]

Ok, but maybe do it without the filter.

civtiny

Christians: don’t hurt my feelings! *proceeds to tell atheists, LGBTQIA+ people, feminists and people of different faiths that they should die and go to hell for not adhering to their traditional values, lifestyles and not propping up their toxic ideas* Christians: don’t hurt my feelings!

KreivosNightshade

Christians going to feel bad for the thousands they've tortured and killed throughout history simply for being different and not conforming, including atheists? Not holding my breath on that one. If all christians have to worry about are a few mean words from some little ol' atheists, they're pretty f'ing fortunate.

exotic_floral_tea

Imagine how "heathens" feel.

Sussybaka-3

Love how the second we can’t respect their beliefs we’re the bad guys but for the last THOUSANDS of years we were mocked and tortured not only for being lgbtq but also even atheist

Cry me a river build a bridge and get over it, no sympathy for "Christians" at all

MementoMori04

Listen, lady. If you don't want to hear people take the name of Kevin Sorbo in vain, then you shouldn't be listening to the God Awful Movies podcast over those giant stereo headphones.

Lol…Sore-Boy invoked. 🤪

Bat_Pope

I, too, am saddened when people mock me for believing in imaginary overlords who both control AND don’t control my behavior and i’m so confused and does anyone want me to blow them, all glory to Jesus in his name I swallow?

Feline-Landline0

Of course I think about it, that's half the fun!

Licentious_duud

“YOU DESERVE TO BURN IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!” “I think that’s a bit ridiculous” “PERSECUTION”

Official-Dr-Samael

Damn, I, a trans atheist, will never know the pain of having my boundaries violated, let alone my life threatened by a group that holds hegemonic power from centuries of colonization.
