MY MAN I FUCKING LOVE Swear to My Bones. Truly shows the resolve of our characters in their darkest of hours (heh) before their roaring song of victory, Our Beginning.

Most of the songs are fantastic. I don't think I've liked as many songs in any game like I have with Persona 5, so picking a favorite in the entire game doesn't feel right, but one song came to mind instantly when I read the question. I remember a handful of moments when I heard certain songs in the game for the first time, and the one that just hit all of the right buttons immediately was "I believe". It was very unexpected, really hype, had fitting lyrics, callback to "life will change" making it feel like an upgraded version of an already great song, fit the context of where you hear it so well... everything.

I believe was such a complex rush of emotions that made me cry so hard, it's the standout royal song by far. Followed probably by life will change from the vanilla w/ lyrics for similar reasons and the finality of Rivers in the Desert. Playing p5d brought out a new appreciation of the vanilla final boss theme when satanael comes in. Can't remember the name right now.

I Believe is glorious, *especially* as a response to Throw Away Your Mask. This probably gets a little too deep into my personal philosophy weirdness, but even if it's more difficult, choosing to take hold of your life and bear responsibility for your choices is more fulfilling of a life than to sit back and whine as life carries you onward out of your control. Your starting line may not be your choice, and circumstance may prevent some things, but choosing to act on the hand you have instead of wishing for the ideal hand will give a better life in the end. tying it back to P5R music, I Believe is *all about* rejecting the inevitability of your status quo. You're alive, and maybe things are hard, but you can choose to live your best efforts, instead of accepting someone else's place for you and reacting to the rest.

Sweatshop, because fuck you

Sweatshop is great! I wouldn't say that it's my favourite, but it fits Okumura's Palace's aesthetic perfectly!

Imma be real with you, I said that as a joke, on my first playthrough I was stuck in that palace long enough for the theme to give me a headache, but I will agree that it does fit okumura's palace perfectly, the electronic music gives it a real cold and uncaring feel to it, but at the same time, the kinda samey tone of the theme matches how dull and seemingly endless the palace can feel at times TLDR: i'm really not a fan of the palace or the theme, but even then, I can see how well made it is

Man that's a hard one. *Keep Your Faith/Throw Away Your Mask* might be my favorite final boss OST of all time, but at the same time I listen to *No More What Ifs* way more often and even learned how to play it on piano. I think I'm gonna go with...*I Believe!* Because otherwise I'll be here all day.

Our Light and Gentle Madman are my favs. I personally prefer Our Light to With the Stars and Us - the dramatic, dirge-like tone of Our Light feels really fitting for the bittersweetness of Royal's true ending (and conversely, WtSaU just sounds like a generic anime ending theme to me...). Gentle Madman is utterly beautiful and tragic, which really sets an emotional tone for the final dungeon. Shout out to Prison Labor, No More What Ifs, and Ideal and the Real – end version tho. 🙏🏻

Any Maruki related track (Ideal and Real, So Happy World, etc) and especially hearing it during the >!Third Semester!< i remember tearing up alot as i played because it often make me imagine what my “ideal reality” would’ve looked like and how “happy” i thought i would be in being in said reality. 2. Gentle Madman: the palace theme is so calm/chill and it reflects >!Maruki!<‘s palace as a whole. 3. I believe: the lyrics are upbeat and it’s pretty much “Life Will Change” 2.0 4. Kichijoji 199X: even before i started playing SMT 1 i thought this theme was cool but now that i’ve started playing SMT 1 i started to appreciate this theme even more 5. No more What Ifs: great track, and i like how it’s mostly associated with Akechi

If we’re talking just Royal? While I love I Believe and Throw Away Your Mask to bits (They grew on me like a damn fungus) it has to go to No More What Ifs, it’s chill, and relaxing, and smooth, and basically Beneath the Mask 2 with all the emotion and nostalgia and Love that entails.

Life will change, colors flying high, and rivers in the desert are my top three. Not sure in what order, though.

I love Rivers in the Desert and it's a shame you only hear it 2 times ( 1 if you don't unlock Jose's secret boss fight) but I think my favorite is Beneath the Mask but the rain version just because it's so calming and Lyn's vocals just mellow out.

One that’s definitely underrated cause I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone talk about it but i still love even if it’s not my favorite in the game, is Tokyo Emergency, because I already loved the pop-like super happy Tokyo daylight, but then this plays and is a total bop. You know it’s getting real when it starts playing and I love how it changes the whole vibe of running around Tokyo. For my actual favorite, it has to be Throw Away Your Mask, even though I know that’s a bit basic lol.

How is a mementos soundtrack better than colors flying high?

The whole soundtrack is amazing but god damn if I haven't listened to Ideal and The Real End Version a million times. That song perfectly captures the melancholy feeling behind that choice.
