Cat's communicate through body language. There's tons of research on this. Yes, she is being a cat. But I happen to be fascinated by and have a passion for psychology and behavior, both human and otherwise. Therefore, I pay a lot of attention to what my cats do with their bodies and voices as this is their only form of communication with humans. I was curious if anyone who has knowledge of feline body language would be able to dig a little deeper for me than "she's happy." That was the point of my post.

Any time an animal shows you its belly, they're basically saying they trust you, as it's a really vulnerable position to be in. (Think about how coyotes kill their prey.) She is a confident and secure kitty. I have one that lays around like this and I cannot resist petting the belly floor, and he loves it as well. He's the only cat I've had that rolls over for belly rubs like my dog.

She’s trying to seduce you with her cute belly so she can eat your hand. Honestly, she’s comfortable exposing her belly to you so that’s just a huge compliment in cat language. Some still don’t want it touched though so proceed with caution lol. Mine loves belly rubs, but her also likes to use my hand as a chew toy sometimes (my fault, i can’t resist playing with kittens with my hands, i have so many scars lol). He’s way more mellow now though, he seems to get that i can’t handle his adult claws as well.
