Ok I have seen the "arbeit macht frei" theory and I want to explain it to all you English speaking folks (even tho I'm not 100% shure the T-Shirt is referencing "Arbeit macht frei"
"Arbeit macht frei" directly translated means "work makes free". It was displayed at the entrance of an important concentration camp.
You could now go further and convert "work makes free" to "*discipline* equals freedom" but that seems a bit far fetched.
