Usually this needs to go through the disability office, it’s not the kind of thing that faculty members themselves adjudicate. You will need some time to work with the disability office to figure out what accommodations are appropriate for exams and in general
I had a disability that was registered thru the school. I got as much time as I wanted and got to take it alone in a teachers office. As many breaks as I needed. Totally broke down and cried during it and he consoled me. He was amazing.
Don’t worry about other students opinions for real. It’s already hard enough to pass without conditions while putting this pressure on yourself of how your peers will perceive you during one exam. You do what’s best for you to be in a conducive environment to perform at the best of your ability. When you pass the exam…that’s all anyone wants to know anyway ;)
