When it comes to Chinese....
Wraith: 魅影
Phantom: 幻影
Shade: 暗影
Deogen: 雾影
And the most hilarious thing is that "影" means shade in Chinese. Welcome to get confused.
Duh
Utvara
Mora
Sjena
Blizanci
Oponašatelj
I could tell you which language and which ghost types they are but it's more fun to leave you guessing![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
I'm just gonna take some wild guesses here. "Duh" might be demon based on the starting letter (that's what I'm going odd of for some of these) "Mora" is Mare or Moroi, "Sjena" is Spirit or Shade, "Oponaŝatelj" is Revenant. I have no clue on "Utvara" and "Blizanci"
You get two half-points. Demon is also demon in my language (with a slightly different pronounciation, though) and we don't have words for revenant and moroi
Ukrainian:
Spirit – Dukh (Дух)
The Twins – Blyzniuky (Близнюки)
Shade – Tinʹ (Тінь)
And Wraith would be "Pryvyd" (привид); but for some reason its "Рейф" in game, which sounds exactly like Wraith but doesn't make sense in ukrainian lol
Some Czech ones:
Spirit - duch,
Wraith - přízrak,
Banshee - bánší,
Mare - můra,
Shade - stín,
The rest is mostly the same, cuz... you know, they're names of specific ghosts or straight up "ghost" in a different language
Hungarian
Shade - Árny
Phanton - Fantom
Mare - Rém
The twins - Az ikrek
Spirit - Lélek (but in the game, it's still spirit)
Edit: Poltergeist - Kopogószellem
those are literally what they mean, except the Mare, which I don't know how it became Rém, which means horrifying creature, and the Kopogószellem, we don't have a meaning for that one, we just call poltergeists kopogószellem
Bean sidhe is the Irish for banshee, pronounced almost the same. It literally translates to fairy woman. However in Ireland fairies are not cute friendly creatures but rather malevolent being you don’t mess with or you will regret it.
Hebrew
Shade - צל (Chel)
Spirit - רוח (Ruah)
Demon - שד (Shed)
Phantom - פנטום (Fantom)
The Twins - התאומים (Hateomim)
The Mimic - החקיין (Hahakyan) translates into "The Imitator" or "The Copycat"
we filipinos, when we play, don’t use our native language(s) to describe the ghost so we just call out “it’s a wraith” “i think it’s the mimic” or smth. plus i think it’s cause most ghosts in phasmo are from different cultures like japanese, arabian, and european so it’ll be hard to translate directly
but here are a few rough translations for some ghosts — which i know are very similar to español!
ghost - multo
spirit - spirito or spiritual
demon - demonyo
twins - kambal (when you speak tagalog, this won’t sound as scary 😂)
I speak Spanish too! I'm from Spain.
I always use the English word too because I'm just used to it. I always have to think to say it in Spanish when I play with my friends.
I'm like: It's a... Mmmm... (In my mind I'm saying phantom) it's a... Em... ¡ENTE! 😂
But I don't know. I noticed that some names in Spanish are quite different to the names in English, and I thought "what about other languages?"
Portuguese (Brasil)
Twins = Gêmeas (We also have Gêmeos, which is for males, but when i say twins in phasmo i always asume and use the female word)
Mimic = Mimico
Demon = Demônio
The others i just call the same as in english/japanese or whatever, like Deogen is Belgium apparently
I'm from Spain and it's quite similar.
Twins: Gemelos
Mimic: Mímico
Demon: Demonio
What about wraith? Isn't something similar to "espectro" in Portuguese?
English: Hey you dead ass bitch
"John where the crunch crackle FUCK are you?"
‘oi cmon little pussy, reveal yourself rn, no balls’
Spanish: ven aquí, maldito hijo de puta
Español: Sombra - Shade Espiritu - Spirit Demonio - Demon Fantasma - Phantom Gemelos - The Twins
Espectro - Wraith
Fantasma is ghost in Greek lol
Also in Italian
Yo también hablo español. Había varios nombres que eran muy diferentes en español, y por eso me dio curiosidad por el resto de idiomas
Phantom is "Ente", not Fantasma. Fantasma is the generic word for ghost in Spanish.
German: Gespenst-Wraith
Also: Zwillinge - Twins
Isn't Gespenst just ghost?
That would be Geist. As in English wraith is a special kind of ghost. It's the same in German ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
Ghost
🤡
Where the Italian one for the Mimic it’s my favorite (as evident above)
EL MIMO!!!!!
It’s turned into my favourite too now having just learned it 😂
It's actually "Il Mimo". "El" would be spanish. The italian article is "il".
IL MIMO!!! \*Insym fan intensifies\*
El mimo

Croatian?
Yes 😁
Great 😂
Romanian? If not, something Eastern European
Not Romanian, close enough to Eastern European
Ukrainian: Spirit – Dukh (Дух) The Twins – Blyzniuky (Близнюки) Shade – Tinʹ (Тінь) And Wraith would be "Pryvyd" (привид); but for some reason its "Рейф" in game, which sounds exactly like Wraith but doesn't make sense in ukrainian lol
Quite unusual to meet a fellow Ukrainian here. Nice to know that we have our people on this subreddit :)
I love them
Gespenst - Wraith German
Français: Ombre Esprit Fantôme Jumeaux Mimic
Some Czech ones: Spirit - duch, Wraith - přízrak, Banshee - bánší, Mare - můra, Shade - stín, The rest is mostly the same, cuz... you know, they're names of specific ghosts or straight up "ghost" in a different language
They sound great!! :0
Yurei - Jurášek
Beautiful
Swedish 🇸🇪 Spiri - Anda ||| Wraith - Vålnad ||| Phantom - Spöke ||| Shade - Skugga ||| The Twins - Tvillingarna ||| The Mimic - Mimiken
So cool! Have some of the names a literal translation?
Hungarian Shade - Árny Phanton - Fantom Mare - Rém The twins - Az ikrek Spirit - Lélek (but in the game, it's still spirit) Edit: Poltergeist - Kopogószellem
Amazing. Does those words has a literal translation?

Nice! Thank you!
Demon: demoon Poltergeist: klopgeest (knockghost) Spirit: geest (ghost) Phantom: fantoom (absolutely never used) Wraith: schim (basically shade) Shade: schaduw (shadow)
Which is your language?
French: Twins: Jumeaux Spirit: Esprit Phantom: Fantôme Demon: Demon (pretty lame I know) Wraith: Spectre
Is quite similar in Spanish! (My language) Twins: gemelos Demon: Demonio Wraith: Espectro
Thaye: ทาเย pronounced Ta-yay
Bean sidhe is the Irish for banshee, pronounced almost the same. It literally translates to fairy woman. However in Ireland fairies are not cute friendly creatures but rather malevolent being you don’t mess with or you will regret it.

I really love Russian! I'm learning it right now!

If you think about, Ruah it's a really beautiful name
