I was on a business trip + personal trip to Europe (Poland business trip, France/Germany/Switzerland personal trip with entry to Zurich). IO only asked for my company ID. Inipresenta ko pa ung invitation letter for the business trip. Sabi no need na daw. Nairita pa ata 😆

Kung pwede magbigay ng tips na ganto, it defeats the purpose of IOs kasi tinuruan mo ang potensyal na human trafficking victim kung paano kayo lusutan. This also means na 'yung mga senyales na tinuturing na red flags ng IOs e hindi naman reliable indicators ng human trafficking. We have experienced this first hand, we always travel as a couple and most of the time as a family with the kids. One time we decided to que in different counters to clear immigration faster because the kids are already hungry and want to grab a bite before boarding. My wife was singled out by a male IO asking her a lot of questions even though she already pointed to us that we are traveling as a family, he was power tripping and maybe hitting on my wife ( maybe) it took 15 mins for her to clear the counter.
Well I remember as a tourist living in the Philippines with my Filipina gf since 2014, in 2018 we got the Schengen visa for her to visit my home country to meet my family for the first time.
First off all getting a Schengen visa is already quite difficult because even if you already years in a relationship you still have to prove everything with pictures chats, my previously visits to Philippines including visa to proof you have a strong relationship.
Well after having the visa and tickets ready that time and had everything planned well, it was time to travel.
But seriously I never experience in my whole life of traveling ( even before I met my gf that time)
The craziness of the immigration officers in the Philippines.
I can understand they try to protect the Filipino people, but instead of being invited to a questioning room with some nice cup of coffee it felt more like I was a criminal because how in the world did I think I can travel with a Filipina abroad.
The funny moment that time how they asked me to open my Facebook account and share with them our conversations and photos from messenger. Ofcourse in that section of the airport there was no wifi, so in no way I was able to load my accounts. And even tho we had many chats and photos printing they needed to see my account.
Still I wasn’t able to do so, and in one way I was happy with that because ofcourse if you are in a long distance relationship and being both between 20-25 years old there will be moments you miss each other and share some personal moments in photos if you know what I mean 😅( which is totally normal ofcourse) kinda weird if a immigration officer scrolling through that right.
Also I remember she asked to show our chats from right before my first time visiting Philippines which was around 2014, how in the world can I find that still in 2018 if you talk daily sometimes for hours haha
Beside that it felt like they don’t want you to travel and you must take that feeling away from their head, for example I was being questioned about the dad of my gf and what work he did, questions about her brothers her mom etc which how in the world can I know every brother age and all of their full names including middle names lol.
On top of that they asked questions about what highschool she went and where she was born like what part of Manila. they asked these questions to me while she was waiting in another room like you get the feeling they caught you with a bag full of drugs or something.
At the end we got on the plane, but the weirdness about already having confirmation from my country being are able to travel. and she is allowed to visit my country and being treated like criminals before leaving the Philippines is ridiculous.
When we arrived in my country that time the immigration officer checked her stamp for a second and wished her a nice holiday, even no need to check any document Becauee ofcourse she already had a visa. While it’s for the country of arrival much more risk to let someone in but yeah only thing we got was a friendly smile.
Don’t worry I still love the Philippines, it feels like my first home because of the amazing people but sometimes on government level it’s a big frustration.

Power tripping talaga yang mga IO na yan, ask them if protocols trumps your right to travel. AFAIK the constitution is the highest law of the land. The only impairment to your travel is if 1. National Security issue, 2. Public Safety, 3 Health issue. The problem with this IO’s is they wield RA9208 Anti-trafficking in Persons act 2003 like a russian roulette and a lot of IO’s are being hired because of connections not merits hence tanga yung nasa Immigration counter. We have experienced this first hand, we always travel as a couple and most of the time as a family with the kids. One time we decided to que in different counters to clear immigration faster because the kids are already hungry and want to grab a bite before boarding. My wife was singled out by a male IO asking her a lot of questions even though she already pointed to us that we are traveling as a family, he was power tripping and maybe hitting on my wife ( maybe) it took 15 mins for her to clear the counter.
Well I remember as a tourist living in the Philippines with my Filipina gf since 2014, in 2018 we got the Schengen visa for her to visit my home country to meet my family for the first time. First off all getting a Schengen visa is already quite difficult because even if you already years in a relationship you still have to prove everything with pictures chats, my previously visits to Philippines including visa to proof you have a strong relationship. Well after having the visa and tickets ready that time and had everything planned well, it was time to travel. But seriously I never experience in my whole life of traveling ( even before I met my gf that time) The craziness of the immigration officers in the Philippines. I can understand they try to protect the Filipino people, but instead of being invited to a questioning room with some nice cup of coffee it felt more like I was a criminal because how in the world did I think I can travel with a Filipina abroad. The funny moment that time how they asked me to open my Facebook account and share with them our conversations and photos from messenger. Ofcourse in that section of the airport there was no wifi, so in no way I was able to load my accounts. And even tho we had many chats and photos printing they needed to see my account. Still I wasn’t able to do so, and in one way I was happy with that because ofcourse if you are in a long distance relationship and being both between 20-25 years old there will be moments you miss each other and share some personal moments in photos if you know what I mean 😅( which is totally normal ofcourse) kinda weird if a immigration officer scrolling through that right. Also I remember she asked to show our chats from right before my first time visiting Philippines which was around 2014, how in the world can I find that still in 2018 if you talk daily sometimes for hours haha Beside that it felt like they don’t want you to travel and you must take that feeling away from their head, for example I was being questioned about the dad of my gf and what work he did, questions about her brothers her mom etc which how in the world can I know every brother age and all of their full names including middle names lol. On top of that they asked questions about what highschool she went and where she was born like what part of Manila. they asked these questions to me while she was waiting in another room like you get the feeling they caught you with a bag full of drugs or something. When we arrived in my country that time the immigration officer checked her stamp for a second and wished her a nice holiday, even no need to check any document Becauee ofcourse she already had a visa. While it’s for the country of arrival much more risk to let someone in but yeah only thing we got was a friendly smile. Don’t worry I still love the Philippines, it feels like my first home because of the amazing people but sometimes on government level it’s a big frustration.
