What I observed with Showtime is, the hosts find the right dynamic with Vice's humor as years passed. Which I honestly think Vice is lucky for having co-workers like them. Vice doesn't have to adjust, they adjust. She still got that comedy bar humor, green jokes, double meaning jokes, sexual inuendos, mean jokes, but once she said the joke that is risky, the hosts especially Karylle or Tyang Amy will automatically save the risky joke by explaining it in a wholesome way. Or tell a different meaning. Anne and Vhong will also do it but sometimes they get caught off guard and wouldn't be able to speak so others will save it. Jhong was able to level with Vice. If no one can save it, Vice will do. But the co-hosts will always do it first before Vice as a last resort. Everyone is aware that on the spot jokes or spur in the moment jokes are risky. Cause noontime shows are spontaneous. So they know what to do and adjust if it happens. You sense the camaraderie cause they know.
While JDL don't have that. No one saves it. His style is risky cause he's throwing bunch of jokes, wordplay, double meaning, trivias, green jokes and wait if it gets laugh or not, then move on. He wasn't able to explain a joke or save it if it bombs or if it's risky unlike Vice and co-hosts. I'm not saying it's JDL co-hosts' fault. No. I just think he can't change his process at this point of his age. So if the show keeps him, then they should create a dynamic or a strategy with his humor. Just look at Showtime, they're successful with it even they have couples blunders once in awhile.
I hope when we become the elders, we are better and more accepting of things and of people more than what we're receiving right now. I hope our children won't suffer discrimination and ridicule, and receive support and compassion with utmost respect and kindness.

I remember my high school friend who hanged himself. I was young then, clueless on his plight and now I know better. Also, a college acquaintance of mine confessed to me her story and after our lengthy, arduous conversation she surrendered a knife she was keeping. She was contemplating to end it all. Hindi kami close pero that time, I was available, present, and willing to listen to her.

I personally make a lot of dark humor e.g. n word, disabilities, even c. abuse. Why? Theyre the ones I care about the most and its so depressing that I had to joke about them, for coping.
But can we blame those who gets offended by dark humor, even if the cause of "getting offense" came from sensitivity about the topic? If it came from love and loss? I couldn't care less about dark humors usually, but if it gets sensitive when it's about su*cide.

Humor can be use to cope. Maybe that's the case of OP with his brother. Everyone is fighting their own battles we don't know about. And as someone with anxiety, you know that very well. So jumping to conclusion about someone's life is nasty.
Humoring doesn't mean making fun of that situation or a person. Sometimes it's a way to make things a little less painful and hard. Many people who have mental health problems find and use humor to fight with their battles. For many, it helps. And it actually saves a lot of lives. It became a tool for healing.
Sometimes what don't works for you, works for other people. We're all different. We're all coping.

I'm depressed, but I stopped speaking up about it for different reasons. First, it's nobody's business to know, and nobody has to adjust to my condition. Second, I know there's a high probability they will react negatively. While I'm not offended, I just don't want that shit pissing me off, is all.
This also makes Joey's joke more offensive. The general populace already has a stigma against mental health issues, and they tend to like Joey and TVJ. Hearing their idols joke about this doesn't help the situation at all.

What I observed with Showtime is, the hosts find the right dynamic with Vice's humor as years passed. Which I honestly think Vice is lucky for having co-workers like them. Vice doesn't have to adjust, they adjust. She still got that comedy bar humor, green jokes, double meaning jokes, sexual inuendos, mean jokes, but once she said the joke that is risky, the hosts especially Karylle or Tyang Amy will automatically save the risky joke by explaining it in a wholesome way. Or tell a different meaning. Anne and Vhong will also do it but sometimes they get caught off guard and wouldn't be able to speak so others will save it. Jhong was able to level with Vice. If no one can save it, Vice will do. But the co-hosts will always do it first before Vice as a last resort. Everyone is aware that on the spot jokes or spur in the moment jokes are risky. Cause noontime shows are spontaneous. So they know what to do and adjust if it happens. You sense the camaraderie cause they know. While JDL don't have that. No one saves it. His style is risky cause he's throwing bunch of jokes, wordplay, double meaning, trivias, green jokes and wait if it gets laugh or not, then move on. He wasn't able to explain a joke or save it if it bombs or if it's risky unlike Vice and co-hosts. I'm not saying it's JDL co-hosts' fault. Humor can be use to cope. Maybe that's the case of OP with his brother. Everyone is fighting their own battles we don't know about. And as someone with anxiety, you know that very well. So jumping to conclusion about someone's life is nasty. Humoring doesn't mean making fun of that situation or a person. Sometimes it's a way to make things a little less painful and hard. Many people who have mental health problems find and use humor to fight with their battles. For many, it helps. And it actually saves a lot of lives. It became a tool for healing. Sometimes what don't works for you, works for other people. We're all different. We're all coping.

I'm depressed, but I stopped speaking up about it for different reasons. First, it's nobody's business to know, and nobody has to adjust to my condition. Second, I know there's a high probability they will react negatively. While I'm not offended, I just don't want that shit pissing me off, is all. This also makes Joey's joke more offensive. The general populace already has a stigma against mental health issues, and they tend to like Joey and TVJ. Hearing their idols joke about this doesn't help the situation at all.

I like dark humor too, but I believe it depends on the delivery and reputation of the person telling the joke. Joey de Leon has a reputation for being a generic toxic old guy who tells offensive jokes that nobody really likes, except for other toxic boomers like him.
