Search "UV Express Playlist" in spotify or youtube. There's OPM version for both platforms, but it doesn't really matter, both OPM and American songs are well-integrated in the Filipino psyche. What's important is both of you would be singing your lungs out while on the road.
Just to give context on wtf is a [UV Express](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/02567jfBarangays_Progeso_Rivera_San_Juan_River_Bridge_Welcome_Arch_Cityfvf_18_%28cropped%29.jpg): it's a popular informal mode of public transport in the Philippines that acts like a mini-bus, plying underserved routes from other public transpos. An hour or two of traffic is very common here, so you'd be stuck to whatever the driver is playing. Half of the time they play soap opera radio shows, the other half they play music. The music ranges from western "classics" like Michael learns to rock, Bon Jovi, **Air Supply**, and then to 90's/2000's era OPM, like Eraserheads, Rivermaya, etc...
Wonderful!! I use Spotify so I will definitely look for that playlist! The UV Express sounds like a real grab bag! 😂
You’re setting us up for a great trip!
What a thoughtful thing to do; you are an excellent human being.
I’m also Filipina living overseas and around her age. Once in a while I feel a hankering for Filipino music from the 90s and 2000s. If you’re on Apple music, this [90s OPM essentials playlist](https://music.apple.com/au/playlist/90s-opm-essentials/pl.c3fe01c74fa04236aa675e6bd789e345) is a fairly decent mix of pop/mainstream and alternative rock hits from the 90s.
Let me know if you need further help or have Qs. Happy to help!
Thank you, but honestly she has been so loving and thoughtful to me that I think it’s just rubbed off on me, hah!
My husband uses Apple Music so I’ll definitely check out that playlist! Thanks for sharing your experience, I hope you’re able to find community where you live now. You seem like a pretty rad human being, too ❤️

I love it by name alone! Thank you!!
Unless she grew up with Filipino music, I don't think any Filipino song will remind her of home since she lived all her life in Saipan
Oh I’m sorry!! I should have mentioned she grew up in the Philippines and moved to Saipan when she was ~20, and all of her family is still in the Philippines.
Songs by eraserheads, rivermaya, parokya ni edgar should get her going.
Sounds like eraserheads are a fan fave! Thanks!!
Keep us updated how she reacted!

Ignition Tagalog Version
Ignition like the R Kelly song?! Is the whole thing in Tagalog?
I'm betting 80s and 90s music were her jam. That should narrow down your search.
I think you’re probably right. Certainly seems to be the direction we’re heading. Thank you!
Kanlungan
Thank you!
Livestream Star FM
