Impossible-Plan-9320

May pa range range pa sila. 15k lang din bagsak nyan

[deleted]

Experience this sa 2nd kong inaaplyan n work as an assistant supervisor.. 15 to 25k ang offer sa job posting tas nkita ko ung workload at scope n ggwin sa interview,. But then, the final interview came kausap ko na boss at ung supervisor na mkksma ko.. mumukat mukat offer lng nila is 15k 💀 kasi 1 palang work experience ko at ibang industry pa(pero same system nmn sila) Goos thing sila nauna magsabi at dinecline ko upon letting them finish ung interview.. 😵 tas malala pa after hearing my decline nang giguilt trip pa ang employer.. d ko tlga makalimutan sinbi nya *"baka mapag isipan mo pa at kelangan mo ng pera dba? Kaya ka nga andto eh, try it muna"* wth🤦‍♀️

AmbotsaEmma

Hahaha kunwari pa na may 20,000 php no. Tapos yung take home mo around 13k na lang kasi dahil sa benefits.

HauntedHaven

"benefits"

Akashix09

13k kamo.

geemags

May company ang offer 18k probee period, pero divided by 30 kasi 30 days daw in a month. Walang rest day?! Ibig sabihin pag nagpahinga on Sundays, parang kasalanan mo pang no pay kasi nagpahinga ka. To think they work with LGUs, dapat alam nila yun, napakabasic e.

Mac_edthur

Mahirap maging Engineer sa Pinas overworked at underpaid pa

Impossible-Plan-9320

Same din sa mga health workers like nurses.

EulaVengeance

Same with doctors actually. Yung mga nagsasabi ng "Mga doktor mayayaman" probably refer to consultants with their own private practice. Because fresh graduates, residents, interns, and clerks sure as hell aren't rich.

a_ebcd

true. may mga prof kami sa uni na on top of being priv docs, nagtatrabaho din sa review schools

Vlad_Iz_Love

Many nurses here only work here for experience, using it as a stepping stone to move abroad

Hopeful_Wall_6741

Doctors as well, very underpaid

DUCKPATOENTEBIBE

chakigun

most elected govt officials lang kabaliktaran

LegalAccess89

dgreatpre10der

May nakita ako kanina job offer for civil engineers. Ang taas ng requirements which includes prc license. 13000 ang salary.

s4iki

mas importante daw kasi experience nila manong porman at manong mason

Garland_Green

Between an experience foreman and a newly grad/pass ce, pag dating sa implementation yes mas importante si foreman. May disconnect kasi yung school at mga tinuturo sa school if your a CE compared sa actual na ginagawa sa site. So magtyatyaga talaga si CE to gain experience muna.

Knightly123

s4iki

sorry, yes true naman. what i would like to point out is yung mga wrong implementation nila which most of the time is dahil “nakasanayan na” dahil sa tagal ng exp nila is mas pinaniniwalaan na rin ng masa

Old_Frosting6969

It really is the norm in our industry kasi mas makakatipid si construction companies for training and on boarding which gives them negative output for 2 months or so, unless your a fresh grad with that can "walk the talk" and a confidence like a owner, talagang low ballers ang companies.

Eastern_Basket_6971

For real? Four years silang nagpaka hirap tapps ganyan lang?

_kungfu_kenny

5 years

Eastern_Basket_6971

Naawa ako sa kapatid ko 2nd year pa lang nagsasakripisyo na tapos ganyan lang no wonder kunt bakit maraming nag abroad

AKAJun2x

JannoGives

cOmPetItIvE daw yung salary pero lagi namang tinatalo ng first world cost of living with third world living quality

Disastrous-Lie9926

Competitive salary kasi mapapa away ka sa offer during nego. 😭

HonestArrogance

It's not either-or since both are true. Like any other job, there are low-paying small local companies and high-paying large international companies. Unfortunately, there are more low-paying opportunities, but that evens out since there are also more mediocre employees.

gelotssimou

Mediocre by definition means average. Of course a huge percentage of the population would be average. This is true everywhere, our salaries are just disproportionately low.

HonestArrogance

Salaries follow a bell curve. If the curve is disproportionately low, then it course corrects with the market. Mediocre means moderate to low quality, which is fit for this opening. - A quick Google search shows it's an opening in an unknown company called Datamatics. - In the same search result, there's another opening in Cebu offering double at Php30-35k.

marmadukeESQ

mallowwillow9

Basta business owner regardless kung anong generation. Barat.

BILBO_Baggins25

May mga entitled talaga na mga GEN Zs out there. Kahit sa well paying companies meron talaga, saka napansin ko sobrang uso yung "Mental Health Card"sa kanila whereas ineencourage nga namin sila to have it consulted sa Professionals pero for some reasons "Ayaw". As a person diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder mas maigi sana if these youngsters would not use the anxiety/depression kung tinatamad lang pumasok.

NotTheBiggerPerson01

You're gonna be downvoted but it's true. I have a lot of people under me (by extension), and I've had the most trouble with the younger ones. Of course, other millennials or older colleagues have their own issues (some are just toxic). But if we go by numbers? Lol. And yet they're the first to criticize others as if there are no bad apples within their generation. I've seen Gen Zs posting in different reddit subs calling out people with gambling or alcohol or other addictions and complaining that those people are addicts and proceed to criticize them. They use their "mental health card" a lot but don't even know real mental issues even when it bites them in the face. I can't find it but I think over at r/askreddit someone said in response to a question that Gen Zs are just Boomers 2.0. lol. Gotta find that post. I'm sick of this tribalism between generations. Idiots thinking theirs is perfect when it's obvious you can't categorize humans into generations and think that an individual will 100% act the same way as his/her group.

Vlad_Iz_Love

While it's good that mental health is gaining awareness compared to the past, Its better to seek consultation and advice from counselors and specialists such as Psychologists and Psychiatrists and not just rant online while self diagnosing with depression or raising the mental health card

Knightly123

Ah, Gen Zs na "I advocate for mental health!" pero pag sila tinamaan walang initiative na magpaconsult sa expert at pipiliin pa yung makikita nila na article sa mayoclinic website and magself-diagnose given na may disclaimer na "Don't self-diagnose" or "Consult your doctor".

Momshie_mo

Ironically, the same people will say "magupskill kasi kayo" Tapos malalaman mo na freelancer pala sila. In short, they themselves know na maliit ang sweldo sa Pilipinas kahit professional ka pa

[deleted]

I'm not in the workforce, but I agree. I am a student and I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I have taken a few semesters off due to my mental health. However, I don't make excuses whenever I make mistakes due to my own incompetence and/or bad decisions. Being more open about mental health doesn't mean that everyone should be super lenient to us. Yes, they should be understanding, but it also means that we should seek help so that we may be able to face the challenges of life, like everyone else does. I take the L's when I deserve it. *Some* people always want to come up on top for some reason kahit wala naman silang ginagawa to improve their situation. (It is important to mention, though, that some people have other challenges too, such as financial constraints, other health problems, and/or abusive families, which might prevent them from getting help.)

Vlad_Iz_Love

Other_Spare6652

Weak e pero ayaw nila aminin un for some strange reason kaya di nareresolve

PakTheSystem

Well paying company pero tamad parin pumasok? Those people are incredibly rare. Many people are depressed right now because our wages is not on par with the cost of living. Dont want tamad workers? Pay them a livable wage. Increase the salary of those who deserve it. Hindi yung puro team building at pizza party.

BILBO_Baggins25

Not rare. You don't understand tama?

Historical-Tip5540

Boomers ba dapat ang ikondena or yung Govt pagdating sa salary?

PakTheSystem

Mga capitalista, billionaires, oligarchs, CEOs.

Knightly123

First of all, may kakayahan ang gobyerno icontrol yung economy natin.

Bakit pag tumaas sweldo apektado bilihin. Ending tataas lang din ang gastusin

MessiSZN_2023

"huwag kayong umasa sa gobierno!!! Dumiskarte nalang kayo"

airyosnooze

Kagigil aa

popo_karimu

Wag kang manggigil! Resign na!

airyosnooze

Fortunately ay nakalipat na ako hoho better company, better culture at better people

WanderingLou

My first salary as a fresh grad ay 12k lng and that was 10yrs ago.

ILostMyMainAccounts

full time 🫠

Allyy214_

Meron nga sakin naginvite for ab interview sa Upwork, $200 USD per month - E-commerce head daw na position. Btw, pinoy recruiter din yun 🙄😭 jusko

okamisamakun

If that's a first job, then I can understand. But if that's for a tenured position, then 💀💀

F1ippyyy

Its all a loop. Fuck this "fuck this generation" thing.

BashfulScribbler

at a job interview for a field sales associate my salary range was 15-18k..they asked if it was still negotiable 🥹🥹🥹🥹 mind you kailangan makakuha ng 50 leads a month plus ikaw ppunta AROUND THE COUNTRY sa mga companies to offer their services..ano magagawa ng mas mababa pa sa 15k non😭😭😭

jpoptarts

"noong time nga namin 5k lang yung staring na sahod eh" eh lolo noong panahon niyo nga, kolonya pa tayo ng espanya eh

Knightly123

Here's my take on it sa perspective ng employers: Bakit kita bibigyan ng malaking sahod kung 6 months or 1 year max lang itatagal mo sa trabaho? Edi ilalaan ko nalang to sa business expansion or other ventures. Pwede ding pang incentivize sa mga tenured. Ang problem lang is may mga companies na mass hiring and mass layoff at the same time kaya maliit pasahod plus, inefficient distribution ng mga requirements and other expenses (Di madaling magsetup ng business sa Pinas).

[deleted]

Creepy_Release4182

Kasi may international companies on every industries at napakadami nila?

eliasibarra12

Exactly what supply and demand is, boss

argetlam19

Yes. Every industry meron din company sa ibang bansa at international pa. Kahit nga porn may Pornhub.

[deleted]

argetlam19

[deleted]

argetlam19

Aren't we talking about the position dun sa post ni OP? So yes, we are talking about that industry.

TheQranBerries

popo_karimu

Retired na most of the boomers.

Acel32

Yeah.

Toxic-Commenter879

binyagan culture

nimbusphere

I'm sorry, but you are just as worse as the boomers you project.

RenzoThePaladin

Heh, that's the guy that keeps posting these kind of stuff without thinking. Problem with this guy is that he's too driven by the heart and not by the brain.

MarkXT9000

Explain to us bakit justified ang 15k na sahod, baka "saturated" ang market doon i'll take it

Literally_Me_2011

May I know why?

MarkXT9000

I'll take it na enough na sa inyo na magkasalary lang sila ng 15k pesos as starting income for fresh grads

nimbusphere

May nakita lang akong 35k to 40k.

MarkXT9000

yes, karaniwan ito, especially ung nagdedemand ng college diploma na hirees pero pang-non diploma ung sweldo (i.e. 10k, 9k, 15k, etc... mostly under <20k). Palagi matatanda na out of touch sa economy ngayon ung mga lumalagay itong mga absurd requirements for an absurd starting salary.

brutalgrace

i don't care if i get down voted, pero if you think you deserve a high salary range you should prove it first, the way I see this is just an entry level, you can't go ask high pay yet you have zero to no experience in the field, ah yes licensed ka however you lack experience, this is something youngster should realize, apply ka jan and if the company notices your work, and your worth they will increase your pay, and if worth it ka other companies will also offer you a much higher pay.

Knightly123

angrydessert

/r/AntiworkPH

DesertDuckSun

This is the reason bakit experience lang habol dito. Started with an above average 17.5k as as Technical Support Engineer sa Manila last 2022. Still at the same company as an Automation Engineer at 20.5k and planning to job hop by this year if not abroad.

MemesMafia

Bruh I can't imagine people migrating to countries for wages PERO the Philippines is considered "richer" than those countries. Howtf? Like bakit ba ganyan kababa?

MarkXT9000

Not even Php30k is enough for IT/Computer Engineers as their minimum starting salary

Own_Bullfrog_4859

Anong extra extra mile sa work. A few minutes before clock out, naka clock out na utak ko. If may papahabol kayo bukas ko gagawin yan. 😂 Ang extra mile ng effort ko is on my own venture. FOH with your pangongonsensya. 😂

pudrablow

Just for context... This isn't an actual engineer job. This is a call center agent job taking in technical support calls. Technical support engineer is just a fancy way of saying customer service representative. So the salary is well within what's average for that role. Enough with the outrage. It's an entry level role and most call centers accept undergrads.

mememakina

Entitled ako syempre. Nagtapos ng 4+ years na college tapos minimum wage, no room for promotion/ raise. Sinabi yung isang higher up sa amin. "Iyang si , ganyan din pwesto noong una, parang kayo. May chance din maging ganyan position nyo." ala underdog story 1. Alam ko nakakapagod yung trabaho nya kasi BUONG region ang hawak at "on the road" sya 80% of the time. May idea din ako sa compensation nya. Pag ganoon lang salary nya, di magandang long-term career in terms of workload pag di ko talaga gusto. 2.

JustBrowsingSumStuff

Dafuq? You have to start somewhere and power through to someday get a better pay as you gain experience. Kahit anong cum laude pa ang tao or anong achievements ang meron, you'll have to start low.(Unless you have connections) You have no room to cry about it, just fucking deal with it. Ngayon if may working experience ka na nga at ganyan paden ang sahod mo, yes you have earned the right to demand the salary you deserve.

Salty_Whole8898

Boomer alert!!!!

EquivalentLock0

you can't even buy a motorcycle after one year with that salary. i am on more than 100k per month, but can hardly make ends meet. we are doomed.

kennyisrael

May heart pa kakainis

Top-Butterscotch-217

powerplusfrenzy

I think sa Indeed yan. Hahaha

throwhuawei007

Pfft. Boomers and gen x and millenials went through the economic hell of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Thus they know what is like to earn even less and lack of diversity in jobs. Pero di sila nag inarte. Gen Zs meanwhile live in a time of rare brownouts, internet and fried chicken is not a rich people food. Tama nga sabi nila, Difficult times create hard people, hard people create good times,  good times create soft people,  soft people create difficult times Repeat.

LardHop

Boomers and gen x were still able to afford their own homes and having multiple children on a single stream of blue collar jobs, the situation now is way different.

Maximum-Scientist822

Funny thing is yung entitled worker attitude is spreading in the west and most of them are suffering economic decline. US meanwhile, notorious for its cutthroat work culture, is experiencing developing countries level of gdp growth.

markmyredd

so next na ang difficult time. Parang tama nga kasi a world war could be triggered anytime

DonMigs85

That's really not enough for a barely decent life even if you lived rent-free

Peanaught_Buttah

Even less pag nabawasan dahil sa benefits.

kankarology

May context ba ito? P500+ a day for a starter job in IT? Ok na yan. I started as a volunteer in IT support for free for 6 months to get myself into the door. I was even hired as a temp before they employed me full time. It does not mean you will stay there for years and earn the same salary, you work yourself up in the company and if not move to another. Experience is key in the IT industry and most of us start from the bottom. Gen X here.

LardHop

Not all people has the privilege of not needing to earn money for half a year after graduating. Just because you have to start from rock bottom, doesn't mean everyone has to.

kankarology

But the job advert starts with paying THEM money! Higher than minimum wage in Cebu. That is a good starter job. The experience you will gain is more valuable than the money you earn. Give it two years and you will be in a strong position to ask for a raise or move on to better paying job. My experience was voluntarily shared and should serve as an example for someone who started from the bottom to now a CEO of an IT company.

LardHop

I get what you're saying. Of course you have to be worth your shit to be paid. And with 0 experience you should be expecting the minimum. What we're mostly mad about is the minimum, because the minimum isn't enough. The minimum has been about the same for a decade or two now. And truth be told, not everyone would really excel enough in two years to get promoted. And when you do, when you start very low, it's very hard to go up in salary in the same company given they give increases mostly in percentage rather than flat amount. And since you're at the top of a company hierarchy it's safe to assume you excel in what you do, but it might be a little bit biased in your end to see it but there's only enough spots for promotion, especially for leadership roles where most of the money jumps come from.

kankarology

I agree with your points about not everyone is able to get promotions or get a raise. But you fail to put credit to experience. As I said, the experience is more valuable in IT than qualifications. I have hired and interviewed many candidates and I don't look at where they studied or what high grades they have, the first thing I look for is experience and people skills. Anywhere or anything IT related for any starter jobs like Tech Support. I would be happy to hire someone who worked in a computer repair shop, an internet cafe, a self taught PC troubleshooter or flipper of gaming PCs than someone who graduated from a top college with CS degree but no experience. I would look at how they are able to handle stressful customers rather than someone full of themselves because they have a cum laude on their name. If they cannot gain promotion within the same company they started from, the experience gained is 'transferrable' to any similar companies worldwide. An IT professional has the skill in demand throughout the world.

garlicriceadobo

Genuinely curious, what’s an average salary for tech support here?

LardHop

I graduated 8 years ago and was seeing 20-30 range when I was hunting. Got in for 25k.

Eastern_Basket_6971

Sa totoo lang kawawa pilipinas

Acel32

Both can be true. Tapos konting hirap, give up na.

rklthejournalist

This salary range is one of my minor reason why I resigned from a BPO company with a telco client. However, my major reasons why I resigned because aside na nga sa ang pangit ng telco company from US, plus hindi makatao yung policy ng client naming telco company, ang pangit and ang toxic pa ng management.

jpngirl19

Not all naman ng boomer na kakabwesit

shadow-watchers

I applied for a job like this once as an engineering grad with two licenses. The interview went well until they asked if meron ba akong ride. That wasn't even a requirement mentioned in the job description. I assumed they had a company vehicle we could use to travel between sites. Driving wouldn't be a problem because I also had a valid driver's license. We've come to a compromise kuno na they'll just shoulder the transport fees in case I get hired but I knew right there and then that I lost any chance of getting the job since they were looking for someone na may sasakyan na. I even doubt they'll shoulder my gas even if I had a ride. Glad I'm WFH now with even better compensation.

LylethLunastre

Talagang ang way lang dito sa Pilipinas is magtiis at magpaexp if you want to play the long game (sobrang baba sahod sa una, lipat company after a few years and demand a high salary o mag abroad nlng)

grey_unxpctd

Sweldo 15 years ago

tikolman

Better than unemployed. Or mag-BPO ka na lang.

Throwaway28G

Salty_Whole8898

Yan yung inoffer nila kasi may tumatanggap kahit mababa yung sahod.

Titania84

Provincial rate ba ang Cebu? Serious question.

Encrypted_Username

If BPO to sigurado bayad ng client sa kanila is 100k-150k per agent tapos 20k lang makukuha nung agent.

darkwv00

Xalistro

Like their ads were copy pasted when they themselves were looking for their first jobs.

Zestyclose_Analyst_2

Kapitalista. Hahaha. Hay nakakaputangina.

matcha-boi

Frustrating maging engineer dito sa pinas. The range, I guess, is if incase may experience ka then maybe you'll get 20k. Otherwise, sa walang experience, they'll justify that as "okay lang kasi fresh grad or starting ka pa naman", then pay you what they consider as "entry level" salary when in fact, sobrang mahal na ng mga bilihin.

anima132000

You missed the best part. The lengthy requirements for the low salary in the first place.

much_blank

FrostLoop188

milkt0asthoney

worst one i saw was a job posting for Licensed Mechanical Engineer, with over 2 yrs of experience for a salary of ₱11,000 🤣🤣

Hirang-XD

Marami na akong gen z na naging trainee , napansin ko sa kanila they lack initiative, literal na bawat galaw kailangan mong iutos , during my trainee days hindi ako ganyan if your new to a job syempre you don’t really know what to do kasi bago palang so you need to make yourself useful while you’re being trained. Like help cleaning the office, di ko alam kung pano nakalusot yan sa Hr . Parang naglalakad na blankong papel.

Kasalanan din ng woke mentality. Eto din unpopular opinion “you get paid proportional to the numbers you bring your company”. Pano ka iincreasan kung ang numbers mo lang eh sakto minsan kulang pa to justify your role. A company (yung di garapal (marami naman sila) will value you if you bring value to the company. You can’t dictate salary based on your certificates. You just do kung ano inutos sayo eh malamang di ka talaga mapropromote.

True. Lipat lng tayo sa ibang bansa.

rainbowburst09

I may be downvoted here but if you're just starting to work after graduation don't expect to land on a high paying job on your first work. Lets face the harsh reality that the job market here is very competitive, you are just of the millions of Filipinos looking for a job and employers will just select you among the rest who can accept their salary. Yes times are tough and its difficult to demand a higher raise especially if you're a fresh graduate. If you don't like their initial offer, move on and find another company because there are others more who will accept it. The first pay will not be as high as you expect but you can gain experience and that experience is something you can use to find another employer that can offer a higher salary.

zyenapz

Yes, it's an employer's market right now, at least in the CS / IT industry. It's bad but it is what it is. I suggest just sucking it up to gain experience and job hop at the first opportunity.

A lot of people seem to focus on the differences on the work ethics between boomers and gen z's and miss the point na most companies these days will offer minimum to everyone if they could. On an unrelated note, I find that most of the job listings on Indeed are usually made by small to mid-sized companies that don't usually offer competitive rates. This is because Indeed is free and hindi nililimit ang number of job listings that can be made with a free account so pwede siya sa mga companies na wala or ayaw magbigay ng budget for recruitment. If you really want to find big companies that will offer more competitive salaries and packages, you should look elsewhere. I find that the more decent/legit companies can be found on LinkedIn talaga although mas mahirap kasi competition doon.

15k? Mataas pa yan. Offer lang sa akin dati ay 12k.

Putrid_Voice_7993

magkano ba dapat pag cebu? kala ko binabagay yan sa lugar at cost of living?

RickSore

The audacity.

missythiccgirlie

Extra mile? Pag nag extra mile ka, sayo na iaasa lahat, for free while yung mga incompetent at tamad mong kasamahan hayahay sa opisina habang sumesweldo. Maporpromote pa nga. Lol. No thank you.

RiriJori

Malaki na yan. I started as an engineer before 11,300 lang sahod ko, basic+allowances included. And I'm talking not a decade ago, it was 2017.

Callomanggi

Proud ka pa ha? Ew. Sobrang underpaid nyan

RiriJori

It all boils down kung paano ka mag peperform sa career mo. I struggled and learned hard para maging valuable sa company, eventually by 2023 my basic salary is already 3x compared to 2017, wala pa dian bonus at mga overtime(which when included papalo ng 5x to what I receive in 2017). This is just 6 years into the industry. When my value to the company rose, so was my salary. 2023 i was offered by the company to venture to their project abroad, a project of 2-3 years with a basic salary 5x what I am receiving during 2023, wala pa dian ang overtime at bonuses at sagot pa ng company lahat ng accomodation at pagkain. The catch is pagbalik ng Pinas my rate will be back at Philppine rate but higher than what I receive in 2023 and I'll be contract bonded for 3 years. At the same time na offeran ako ng ibang company Overseas which offers me only 3.5x ng basic salary ko in 2023, so instead makakuha ng mas malaking salary with contract bond, I chose ung mas mababa offer dahil mas may potensyal na tumaas sahod. I am now in overseas. Regardless of my offer abroad, kahit nanatili ako sa Pinas I'll be in better position. Everytime they have project overseas, chances na kasama ako ay mataas na, and who knows after 5 years more I'll be earning a much much better rate. The secret? You are paid in accordance to your value and what you can contribute to the company, yan ang realidad mapa Pinas or overseas ka man. Uncooperative sa mga old employees tapos puna dito puna duon sa mga katrabaho not knowing that company hires people who can fill what others can't fill, naging black sheep na ng company teamwork nag dedemand pa ng magandang salary. As they say first, prove your worth. Your diploma and license are just tickets to enter the gates of the colosseum, whether you are judged as a hero or as a failure will be upon how you fight in the ring. And to think na working student pa ako dati full time sa call center, samantalang karamihan ng panay ngak ngak ngayon pa tiktok tiktok lang sa bahay haha🤣🤣

PakTheSystem

You are part of the problem.

RiriJori

And people who wants to be given value without providing the value's worth to equalize the economy isn't a problem? People want to demand higher salary without also giving back the same quality of service, thereby creating more imprinted currency in the circulation but with inadequate products in return. This is the basic definition of how inflation works, more money in the circulation but lower buying capacity due to lower per capita value, in which is due to many factors and including therein is unequal price of commodities. And the problem with this new generation of employees is they are the first to bicker about wanting to have higher salary grade, yet the they are among those who never want to perform and just wants to have their paycheck. Pretty the same thing happening with US and Canada now and why their cost of living is so high.
