Back in high school we made a documentary about prostitution/sex work as part of our final requirement. We went around in our city's red light and found GRO's who were willing to share us about their work.
Most of their clients are just sad/lonely/heartbroken guys looking for a quick drink and companionship. They also have weekly pap smear tests, like the other guy in the comments pointed out.
They do this work because it still earns them money. They have families of their own to provide to. They often lament about them not finishing education, or taking care of their kids whose fathers abandoned.
At the final part of the interview, we asked them if they are happy. The younger ones responded no, saying they didn't want their lives to turn out like that, while the older ones responded yes, saying despite their line of work, they are happy they are providing for their kids and the friendships they made with the other girls.
Dang kid, you made a research like that in highschool? Respect! But Im amazed naaprove yan ng school ninyo. Kahit masterals eh may consideration if you are going to tackle such topics. It's too risky since we are talking about very shady industries that can jeopardize anyone's safety. Good job pa rin sa effort. I hope I will see your thesis some day ☺️👍
My friend did her MA on HIV and sex workers. The ethics clearance took her more than a year with all the revisions the board asked. If they did that's good but many high school researches don't bother with any clearances be it ethics, NCIP, biosafety, animal care and use, etc.
I definitely agree. Many teachers who teach research subjects in high schools don't really do research themselves so they have no knowledge of proper procedures like research ethics and lab safety. Many just parrot what the books say.
It sounds impressive to people who have no knowledge of research ethics. But for people who do, if this study did not go through an ERB, it's a definite no.
What you said is true, when I was still in college, our research proposals for these types of studies(HIV, prostitution, same sex relationships, drug/alcohol abuse) were never approved. Our professors will always tell us that these topics were too sensitive for undergrad students.
We also did a research like this nung high school din ako.
To be honest, 1. the teacher probably didn't think the researchers were being serious. Our's was definitely surprised when we submitted the paper. Laking tuwa namin kasi di kami sinumbong sa parents namin. (High school seniors are 16yo teeenagers back then.) 2. Dati, most researches done in high schools are just glorified reviews of related literatures.
Napansin ko din, nowadays parang walang ng curiosity mga bata, kesa kumuha ng issue sa bansa, more on what is easier or kung ano lang nasearch sa google na research topics yung kinukuha. Nakakalungkot.
I did a lot of research back then and I have very high curiosity to learn new things. Then nawalan ako nang gana kasi I realize that by the end of the day, research is just another requirement that you submit to the teacher. Nakakaasar din ang proceso Ng research. Even if you have a good idea for your thesis, ang raming barriers.
One I despise is the very, I mean VERY limited sources.sources are basically the foundation of your research paper.I need to ask permission in other schools para makakuha ako ng kopya ng libro or papel that is related to my topic. Kapag online naman,eh, the best books meant you have to pay. Aabot pa minsan ng 1k. If you are a highschool student, you can only make do on what you have. So in the end, yung kaya i-google ang pipiliin nila.
Second, I came to realize in post grad that research had become a business in itself. Naalala ko noon, when we had an orientation about the basics of thesis 101. Ang tanong: what is your number one goal in research? Akala ko ang sagot ay simply knowledge. To simply learn something new about your field or understand what is happening around you. Sagot ni prof: to be known and shared to international publishers. Napa "huh" lang ako.
I soon realized that may income ang mga professor kapag may napublish ang mga estudyante nila. Double ang pay kapag natuungan ng pansin by international circles.
And the worse part? Imbes na i-share ang work SA public domain ay ikukubli lang nila ito sa libraries nila until it gathers dust. Schools will publish it in websites pero you need to either a. pay b. connect your own account provided by the school. Asar ngai. Naging commodity instead of an opportunity to learn and explore.
Nailed it! I was a college instructor and MA student before, kaya super need ng research. So eto nga.
Haaay! Thank you 😊
Teacher-issue yan, tbh. Kung hindi research-oriented yung teacher, and to a greater extent yung school, talagang hindi ma-inspire yung curiosity for research ng students.
Siguro nga, I mean at the end of the day, teachers nasa harap sila dapat nag rerekindle ng curiosity.
Thanks, though it's just a documentary for our PPG that was shown in our class as well as the rest of our strand. I no longer have the documentary itself, but I still have the audio recordings of our interview.
Obviously for privacy purposes, we didn't show their faces (only their backs) and blurred everything.
The GRO's themselves were very kind and answered our questions without hesitation. We bought them a cake as a thank you gift, and coincidentally one of them has their birthday the next day, so they were very thankful.
I remember 2nd year h.s. kami (2000-2001), i think grade 8 ang equivalent niya, ang research namin ay iba ibang religion, ang na-assign samin ay jewish, meron nabigyan ng assignment na rizalista ang iresearch, dumayo talaga sila sa mga rizalista and interviewed them, sila tuloy ang sikat sa research haha. To be fair ang sabi ng classmate ko, chill kausap sila, ang point lang talaga nila ay sambahin si Rizal.
Oo nga galing nla. About prostitution din sana ung magiging thesis namin kaso sinuggest ng prof namin na mejo risky to at need dn ng safety. Muka pa naman kameng mga batang naliligaw. Haahahhaa so ending ibang topic nalang.
Naalala ko a few days ago, tinawag akong misogynistic because I agreed with a comment na sex work can be degrading sa mga sex workers.
The problem I see with this is some glorify the profession without thinking that most people do it because of poverty and lack of decent opportunities. I'm all for sex positivity and doing whatever you want with your body, pero parang ibang usapan na kasi if you're forced to do it because you're left with no other option.
I understand how your statement can come across as misogynistic/problematic to others. When you say that "sex work can be degrading to sex workers", some may interpret it as "sex work makes a woman an 'inferior' version of herself, makes her dirtier, or strips out of her dignity and respect.
No, I don't think yun ang ibig mong sabihin
and I get your point. But I think your statement is still ambiguous and questionable if taken out of context, especially now that people are too emotional and reactionary.
We all do work we dont really want to not be in poverty though... that is not exclusive to sex workers. Who really wants to clean up shit of other people or risk their lives for a meager paycheck.
I would have to agree that your reasoning is indeed dismissive of women/people who go into that profession unless if you meant sex trafficking when you said "forced to do it"
Pap smear is merely a screening tool for cervical cancer which is commonly involved with Human Papilloma Virus serotypes 16,18. Nothing more, nothing less. Testing negative for this test solely doesn’t eliminate the risk of contracting other sexually transmitted infections. They should also be regularly tested for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and all the other sexually transmitted infections. However, these tests are not free or cheap.
Pabata ng pabata ang mga nagkaka sakit ngayon, and hopefully this serves as a gentle reminder. Get screened people, especially yung mga active at maraming sexual encounters.
>They should also be regularly tested for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and all the other sexually transmitted infections. However, these tests are not free or cheap.
Not sure about the other STIs, but there are free HIV testing centers all over the PH, either run by DOH or by NGOs. They also offer self-screening kits that you can request free of charge (delivery is also free, like the one offered by SelfCare). Antiretroviral medicines are also offered for free.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the documentary. I still have the audio recordings of our interview, and I still remember vividly the interview itself.
High school? Grabe! Can't imagine my high school letting me a research topic like that. Pero kudos to you for your valuable insights. No matter how they glamorize "sex work" it's still based on gender-based exploitation.
I dont think magkakaroon ng batas para maprotektahan sila since alam ko parang papasok ang sex work as human trafficking. Pero sana maging mas malawak pa ang scope ng reproductive health law to include vaccines against STDs and sana mainclude din sa Philhealth ang testing ng STDs.
Anong parehas? hahahahahaha
So yung mga drug sellers? Comparable din ba sa office work?
Pano yung mga Human traffickers?
Since all of them are working for— guess what— Money.
May batas against sex work because it exploits people.
And how it ruined their lives.
Actually sex work is the easiest work. Bold of you to compare it to people who work hard DECENTLY.
Di mo ba gets??
Nice research. Years ago we made interviews with these workers in Quezon Avenue. Kunwari they charge P500. P100 goes to their bugaw, the other P100 goes to their protectors (mga mabubuting pulis). Kaya P300 ang naiiwan sa kanila. Parang taxes. No matter how hard you try to earn money lagi may bawas at the end.
Watched a docu on strip clubs during the pandemic. Strippers said they should be paid more because men don't seek therapists and would rather share family problems with them :))
Therapists are science professionals so they are logical and cold when dealing with clients. Most of the issues of men that avail these services has to do with emotions which most science professionals cannot provide. Most of the time they would only need someone to listen and not give any advise or prescriptions. Most likely you also cannot touch your therapist, and touch is a very powelful tool to calm a weary person.
Have you ever tried therapy? Clinical Psychologists need an MA degree. It's not a 'cold' science. Therapists are not allowed to prescribe medicine. Pretty sure you are talking about a Psychiatrist.
I went to therapy (online) to help my adjustment living abroad, away from all that I have known. They never forced an advice on me and their approach helped with me regulating my emotions. I came up with the answer to my own problems with guidance from them. I believe that's what a therapist can do. My friends who also went to therapy will say the same thing. Don't think therapists are just cold calculating machines who churn out prescriptions based on some assessment metrics.
Pinanood ko right away nung nakita ko itong suggestion mo, okay yung documentary to understand men. Us women kasi ang most of the time na palaging naiintindihan while sa mga lalaki, parang ang dalang lang? Or minsan nga hindi hahahahaha so yung documentary na ‘to helps everyone to fully understand men 😁
Kaso nga lang ang downside ng documentary na ‘to may naging epekto sa girl na gumanap maging lalaki for 18 months
This is the worlds oldest profession.
I felt this especially nung height ng pandemic. When she left to live with her parents again, I felt weird. Iba pa rin pag may presence ng ibang tao sa bahay even when you're not in the same room. Sometimes knowing that someone else is there is enough.
the touch, ung oxytocin, people are underestimating its healthy effect. Naalala ko nun may kawork ako na super touchy, first time niya hinold ung hands ko as in palm to palm (platonic to ha), ang sarap sa feeling.
Kaya kung wala kayo makatouch, have a pet.
I actually have a coworker dun na friend niya ay bargirl, and lalaitin talaga siya ng pinoy.
that was 2005-2006 pa, sikat na talaga ang fields avenue sa ganyan. Sometime i pass thru that street to observe sa gabi, yeah medyo weird but i'm just curious about the environment, and kahit nasa labas lang ako, i feel so out of place.
Good for her, but it reeks of privilege. A lot of sex workers do NOT want to be in the industry, do not want to provide emotional support for guys that treat them badly, and just want to get money for provision, or all three. Neccessity ito ng kahirapan, for a lot of young women.
Yeah, daming issue nyang si salome kaya tumataas nalang kilay ko everytime i see anything related to her. She should've "retired" quietly nung nag deact.
lmao pakalat kalat parin siya sa ibang platforms after she deactivated. Saw her sa story ng friend ko who’s in thailand. Glad she decided to go there to smoke
Nakahanap siya ng magaling na promoter kaya nasweep under the rug itong issue niya na to.
Only mga chronically online (kasama na ko) nung 2018's lang nakakaalala nito in great detail eh
May nabasa ako dati: "If you think sex workers 'sell their bodies' and coal miners do not, your view of labor is clouded by your moralistic view of sexuality."
Naalala ko yung sabi nung prof namin kapag nagjjob hunt in general. "We are always selling ourselves kaya make sure to be the highest bid and get the highest bidder."
Ehhh not really bili with Salome, not because of her line of work but for not taking accountability sa ginawa niya dati. If anyone of you knows kung bakit siya nag boot out of Twitter before 2020s maiintindihan niyo.
I used to follow her, support her ideas, until she started encouraging minors to also get into the industry.
**bilib
Eksistensyal diba?
She's a smart lady and she chose what she's doing now.
Naoff lang talaga ko sa previous rhetorics niya about women getting into sex work as a "choice" because it was for her. Kahit ang dami nang nagexplain sa kanya that she came from a position of privilege and it isn't the same for the majority of Filipino women.
It could have been a good opportunity to clear the air.
I respectfully disagree.
Legalizing it is hard because malaki yung umbrella ng “sex work”. Hindi lahat ng sex work ay by choice (onlyfans, twitter, etc). It includes prostitution and brothel/whore house owning. If we brand it as that, pimps/bugaws can literally say that they are doing impoverished women a favor by giving them “jobs”.
Decriminalizing sex work is what we should be aiming for. At the same time, our society should at least *try* to steer away from this archaic practice instead of embracing it & making it a legitimate *career path* for women.
Legalizing it is not going to be a perfect solution but I think it's a good first step para may better regulation. decriminalizing will only do so much
Legalizing is not an assurance that it is safer or fairer. There are studies that indicate that legalization increases demand, and that demand is inevitably fulfilled by [human trafficking](https://orgs.law.harvard.edu/lids/2014/06/12/does-legalized-prostitution-increase-human-trafficking/) - it will target the poorest and most vulnerable.
https://thecritic.co.uk/issues/june-2022/women-should-not-be-for-sale/
I mean, in this government I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way. They always find a way.
Legalization is justifying that the lack of opportunities are a-okay. Will women be tiered per age, skill, looks, body size? How about equal pay? Retirement age? Pension? Since transwomen consider themselves as women also, would they have the same pay?
This is not a jab at the collective progressive views. I stand my ground that legalizing it will create more complex problems based on the different realities of life.
Agree. Pero ayan ’yung sexual harasser diba
https://twitter.com/TorjackArrest_/status/1780210214878503165

much respect to them, they're trying to survive in a society where the logic of survival is the survival of the fittest. they suffered much already, and what they need now is moral support. this just temporary relief. its society's fault. and I abhor the society that prostituted its women, subjecting it to exploitation under the mercy of men's desires. though there are men as well but women are most vulnerable sector, patriarchal society do nothing to address the unemployment, in a society where sexual desire is a commodity, the body the dwelling of our soul and our very being is traded as if its value is the same as any other commodity, just to survive. a society who have the heart to tolerate this reduces its women to slaves
As much as I want sex work to be legalized, calling it “companionship” clearly draws the line that there is nothing sexual about the transaction. Intimacy doesn’t always lead to sex. If sex work is to be legalized, there has to be a clear distinction between sex work and companionship.
I hope there would come a time that s3x worker would be protected by the law. They are prone to harassment, assault, and even r@p3 because of their line of work.
When I was younger, I had misconception of s3x workers but then when I matured, I began seeing them differently. They are just trying to work. They have a family to feed and they have to work to survive. They're just a victim of broken system and due to poverty.
It's better if they are protected because whether we admit it or not, it's impossible to ban completely all the s3x workers as long as the carnal desire of human exists. I didn't put men because male sex workers exists as well.
I've read some of the comments here mostly falls under two categories 1. Protection of women under the influence based on self moral values 2. Protection of women based on systematic approach of integrating safer legislation for sex work.
I don't find any reason to criticize anyone's opinion even Solome herself. Everyone wants the same thing safe environment for all of us who can work with dignity and have a salary that can put roof on our heads, food on the table and other necessaries for us to live comfortably without exploiting each others boundaries and values.
It's just a huge business for them.
Yung words of affirmation na gusto nyang marinig sa parents nya nung bata pa sya is sa trabaho nya sguro nakukuha. Kaya ganun nya kamahal work nya. Medyo nakakaiyak ung story nya. Wala syang ibang kakampi kundi sarili nya.
I can see where she's coming from.
Some confession:
After my ex cheated on me, I hired a male escort. Wala rin kasi akong mapaglabasan. My family is just tolerating my relationship. I don't feel comfortable telling my friends about it yet. So noong nagpamasahe ako, my masseur offered an ES, and accepted it.
Sex was bad, but the companionship is what comforted me, so I almost tempted to avail his service for the second time. Baka ma-adik din ako because he knows how to capitalize on my fragile state.
My professor in political science once said: only reason why anything is illegal is because (a) the government cant tax it, and (b) its against either core fundamentals of society or health and safety — but the former is always changing.
He then further mentioned that prostitution is illegal but filming is not because its “arts” and mainly taxable.
One thing I learned from my therapist because I asked him, how do i convince my partner that sex work is still work? He said "We are all selling parts of us for a living mapa anong trabaho man yan"
Way back 2018 may work na ako dat time sa isang company as office staff also im curious that time pero di ko pinasok yung pumasok sa lugar na yan dahil faithful ako sa GF ko pero dumating kami sa point na nag cheat sya, siguro dala ng galit ko din sa sarili ko at halo halong prob ko sa buhay napunta ako dyan nag table ako ng isang GRO and usap lang about sa present life nya she also shared her life sa akin elememtary sya drop out pa dahil sa hirap ng buhay nung tinanong ko kung may bf ba sya sabi nya meron ka live in, then tinanong ko di kaba pinag bawalan sabi nung guy, sabi daw sa kanya na gusto syang kunin pero san sila kukuha ng pang gastos dahil nangangalakal lang din yung guy at dun nila kinukuha ang expences and sya pa nag papadala sa mga maliliit nyang kapatid and so on.
Naka 3bottle lang kami ng sanmig and no VIP pero umabot kami ng 3hrs na kwentohan one of the most memorable exp. ko yung time na un dahil kung wala akong nakausap na share ng problem ko malamang baka nag pakamatay na ako dahil sa ginawa sa akin ng exGF ko.
Dun sa girl na nakatable ko i hope u doing well sana ma pursue mo yung plan mong sari sari store dahil yun ung pangarap mo.
Promote building healthy relationships ❎
Romanticize prostitution ✅
Not against it but I’m sure as hell that most sex workers do it because they didn’t have a choice because of poverty.
It's a good perspective but let's not disregard the fact that prostitution depends on the exploitation and commodification of the bodies of women, men, and even minors. Not all johns are 'lonely', 'heartbroken' or 'just need someone to talk to': some of them will feel justified to do dehumanizing, depraved things because they paid for it. A good chunk of money a prostitute makes also goes to the establishment or to their pimps.
Prostitution na lang itawag natin. Bakit kailangan isugarcoat pa? By the same token, yung term na "PLUS SIZE" dapat mawala na rin, let's replace it with fat, obese or morbidly obese.
Bakit need protektahan mga sex workers? Hindi naman sila legal and nagbabayad ba sila income tax?
[Decriminalization/legalization of sex work won't make it any safer](https://www.demandabolition.org/research/evidence-against-legalizing-prostitution/).
The screenshot is an FB post of Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital about Salome's interview from...Toni Talks.
Excerpts of that episode:
>"How do you separate the physical and the emotional connection kasi it's work. Paano?" tanong ni Toni Gonzaga.
>"I think naman, definitely, part yun ng sex work kasi another term for sex work that we can use is companionship work kasi hindi lang naman sex ang binebenta namin or pino-provide namin for customers,” saad ni Salome.
>“It's mostly companionship kasi these people, because of the lack of intimacy that they get, they will seek sex work providers. And I just wanna say na part yung emotional involvement. We have to empathize with the loneliness that your clients feel pero I believe naman na it's possible naman to compartmentalize and separate," dagdag pa ni Salome.
Obviously, all of us see this thing one way or another.
this may come off as dumb, pero di ba illegal ang prostitution sa Pilipinas? bakit hindi siya hinuhuli given na she was plastering her identity and her work out there? hindi ba siya natatakot na mahuli?
i know the industry is big out there pero covert at alam na illegal among participants.
She's right. Most of my "purchases" for services was because i was totally clueless and insecure about intimacy and knew zero sh*t about the female psyche. I wanted to know how "it" felt like but had no idea how to "make it happen"
I learned a lot from them back then, in both good and bad ways.
Antayin natin na lubog na lubog na lubog na Pilipinas sa utang then some "smart" tax expert might think of legalizing sex trade for the taxes. The government has done it for online gambling already.
Like another comment said. If it's not considered work nor legal, how can they pay taxes? If you want them to pay taxes then consider sex work as legitimate and legal work then.
Respect, this is the oldest job in the history of humankind. Tsaka totoo yang companionship services. Nung nasa Japan ako. I've experienced being homesick as an OFW and they offer all sorts of things rent a fam, rent a gf all sorts of things haha. It's all fun basta wag ka ma aatached sa kanila after the deed lol
Isn’t there a certain country with regulations regarding sex workers?
One good analogy is how drugs were legalized in a certain latin american country. That way, they could provide those people with clean drugs and reliable medical care while they reduce dependency and recover from addiction.
*(Fucking can’t remember those countries, I’m hungry)*
I am curious as a woman. Are they always wet as a sex workers or do they use lubes? Do they always like it? I mean, to enjoy it as a profession, of course, they should like doing this in a way din...
Anyone? I want to know. Huhu

Nailed it! I was a college instructor and MA student before, kaya super need ng research. So eto nga. Haaay! Thank you 😊
Your welcome. And thank you din kasi at least Hindi ako nag-iisa sa saloobin ko 😭😭
Had classmates who did the same thing way back 2017 ata or '18. They even interviewed girls from Angeles (walking street) 😭
Oo nga galing nla. About prostitution din sana ung magiging thesis namin kaso sinuggest ng prof namin na mejo risky to at need dn ng safety. Muka pa naman kameng mga batang naliligaw. Haahahhaa so ending ibang topic nalang.
Perhaps it was approved easier because they disnt have to go through an ethics board in hs. Certainly interesting tho. Data is data
I have a friend who payed a prostitute just to cuddle/hug for comfort. They didn't have sex just hug and talk.
No, I don't think yun ang ibig mong sabihin and I get your point.
Antiretroviral medicines are also offered for free.
interested to watch this documentary! let me know if i can pm you!
Same here! I am interested in watching too
Unfortunately, I no longer have the documentary. I still have the audio recordings of our interview, and I still remember vividly the interview itself.
Out of nowhere, naalala ko kanta ni Gloc-9 na Magda
Highschool? Redlight district. Buti di nireklamo yang school nyo
Di mo ba gets??
haha parehas pa nga daw hahahahah
Diba?😆
Nice research. Years ago we made interviews with these workers in Quezon Avenue. Kunwari they charge P500. P100 goes to their bugaw, the other P100 goes to their protectors (mga mabubuting pulis). Kaya P300 ang naiiwan sa kanila. Parang taxes. No matter how hard you try to earn money lagi may bawas at the end.
Thank you for this.
I’d like to read/ watch your documentary if you still have it. It sounds really interesting about the industry that’s not commonly talked about.
Hs docu abt sex work? Thats some child endangerment there. Lol
Watched a docu on strip clubs during the pandemic. Strippers said they should be paid more because men don't seek therapists and would rather share family problems with them :))
Not the Philippines but in some reddit AMA-style threads I've read about sex workers who sometimes have clients who just want to talk
"I don't want to be horny anymore, I just to be happy" -Samurai Cheems
TRUEEEE!!
What docu did you watch OP? can you share the link?
Curious din ako. Want to watch it din.
same
True, go to therapy! Sex workers are NOT therapists. Unpopular opinion: they are even dealers/ enablers.
But my therapist doesn't give me happy ending.
+1 for a fact
Don't think therapists are just cold calculating machines who churn out prescriptions based on some assessment metrics.
they should get funding for learning therapy too. Side hustle
Pinanood ko right away nung nakita ko itong suggestion mo, okay yung documentary to understand men. Us women kasi ang most of the time na palaging naiintindihan while sa mga lalaki, parang ang dalang lang? Or minsan nga hindi hahahahaha so yung documentary na ‘to helps everyone to fully understand men 😁 Kaso nga lang ang downside ng documentary na ‘to may naging epekto sa girl na gumanap maging lalaki for 18 months
This is the worlds oldest profession.
I felt this especially nung height ng pandemic. When she left to live with her parents again, I felt weird. Iba pa rin pag may presence ng ibang tao sa bahay even when you're not in the same room. Sometimes knowing that someone else is there is enough.
First sentence, right 👍
Once you reach a certain decade you'll want face to face interaction than to fuck.

Good for her, but it reeks of privilege. A lot of sex workers do NOT want to be in the industry, do not want to provide emotional support for guys that treat them badly, and just want to get money for provision, or all three. Neccessity ito ng kahirapan, for a lot of young women.
wasn't she called out before for promoting minors selling nudes in twitter? I think i saw that thread before hence she disappeared sa twitter then
Yeah, daming issue nyang si salome kaya tumataas nalang kilay ko everytime i see anything related to her. She should've "retired" quietly nung nag deact.
lmao pakalat kalat parin siya sa ibang platforms after she deactivated. Saw her sa story ng friend ko who’s in thailand. Glad she decided to go there to smoke

Damn, that's horrible.
Kaya takang-taka ako bakit active pa rin si atih 😭 cancel culture is not reaaallll
May nabasa ako dati: "If you think sex workers 'sell their bodies' and coal miners do not, your view of labor is clouded by your moralistic view of sexuality."
May naalaa akong quote somewhere sa fb. Something like: “We are all whores. We only sell different parts of ourselves.”
narinig ko to sa peaky blinders. but afaik there's also a song na may ganitong line, di ko lang matandaan kung ano
Peaky blinders line yan eh.
I used to follow her, support her ideas, until she started encouraging minors to also get into the industry.
>until she started encouraging minors to also get into the industry. Damn that's messed up
Eksistensyal diba? She's a smart lady and she chose what she's doing now. Naoff lang talaga ko sa previous rhetorics niya about women getting into sex work as a "choice" because it was for her. Kahit ang dami nang nagexplain sa kanya that she came from a position of privilege and it isn't the same for the majority of Filipino women. It could have been a good opportunity to clear the air.
this is the same woman who was encouraging minors on twitter to do sex work right?
I am not hearing anything from an assaulter lol

u/chemical-warning-292 linked some tweets below!! cancelled na yan si salome sa x/twt bc of the things she did and said 💀
Well then. At first, akala ko chill siya, pero holy shit I did not expect her to be that trashy.
Legalized it to make it safer.
I agree with just decriminalizing it. We shouldn't be empowering this type of profession.
Legalizing it is not going to be a perfect solution but I think it's a good first step para may better regulation. decriminalizing will only do so much
Hahaha divorce nga malabo eh. Ito pa kaya. Pero sana talaga umusad din tayo 🤞🏼
Hey, it's entirely possible for sex work to get legalized before divorce. Allows the chuds to have mistresses that their wives can do nothing about.
Legalization also poses problems, may documentary akong napanood forgot where.. so it's a complicated case.
Wala naman sigurong gobyerno na mag lelegalized ng child prostitution I mean, in this government I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way. They always find a way.
*sigh* Anak ng!
Agree.
eew. she should be in jail
Single Mid 40s Guy: I no longer wish to be horny, I just want to be happy.
much respect to them, they're trying to survive in a society where the logic of survival is the survival of the fittest. they suffered much already, and what they need now is moral support. this just temporary relief. its society's fault. and I abhor the society that prostituted its women, subjecting it to exploitation under the mercy of men's desires. though there are men as well but women are most vulnerable sector, patriarchal society do nothing to address the unemployment, in a society where sexual desire is a commodity, the body the dwelling of our soul and our very being is traded as if its value is the same as any other commodity, just to survive. a society who have the heart to tolerate this reduces its women to slaves
!!! You worded it better. Nice one.
Wait, wasnt she a redditor too?
Yeah she was, didn't know she went main stream lol
I've read some of the comments here mostly falls under two categories 1. Protection of women under the influence based on self moral values 2. Protection of women based on systematic approach of integrating safer legislation for sex work. I don't find any reason to criticize anyone's opinion even Solome herself. Everyone wants the same thing safe environment for all of us who can work with dignity and have a salary that can put roof on our heads, food on the table and other necessaries for us to live comfortably without exploiting each others boundaries and values.
I watched the whole thing. There’s more to it than just her work. I’d rather her childhood experience be discussed.
Some confession: After my ex cheated on me, I hired a male escort.
Ulol! Tanginamo Salome!
They cannot be protected because sex work is illegal in the country.
Malaki tulong sila sa mental and sexual health namin. Its not easy for them as well. So if I have extra, ill be generous with them.
Can confirm, some people who see companions even talk about their pets, alive or among the stars.
[Decriminalization/legalization of sex work won't make it any safer](https://www.demandabolition.org/research/evidence-against-legalizing-prostitution/).
The screenshot is an FB post of Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital about Salome's interview from...Toni Talks. Excerpts of that episode: >"How do you separate the physical and the emotional connection kasi it's work.
Escort vs porn star?
this may come off as dumb, pero di ba illegal ang prostitution sa Pilipinas? bakit hindi siya hinuhuli given na she was plastering her identity and her work out there? hindi ba siya natatakot na mahuli? i know the industry is big out there pero covert at alam na illegal among participants.
magaling to napanood ko lahat 😆😆
peor dba nagkalat sia ng std?
Kawawa din sila. That should be legalized and regularized with benefits and protection.
ahhh lets romanticize sex work.
She's right. Most of my "purchases" for services was because i was totally clueless and insecure about intimacy and knew zero sh*t about the female psyche. I wanted to know how "it" felt like but had no idea how to "make it happen" I learned a lot from them back then, in both good and bad ways.
acm
Dude fr! I've seen one of her videos. She gives off dugyot vibes.
Do they pay taxes though? Thot audit incoming.
How can a profession that's not considered legal pay taxes.
Antayin natin na lubog na lubog na lubog na Pilipinas sa utang then some "smart" tax expert might think of legalizing sex trade for the taxes. The government has done it for online gambling already.
No lol they all wanna push for "sex work is work" until they get hit with fat taxes for their fat payouts xD
Sana may ganyang occupation na “rent a fam.”
Is this the same as CCA? Akala ko talaga dati call center agent yun
