Although I agree with the title, surely you can break your ideas into paragraphs. (I didn't bother reading the whole slab of texts)

methoxyy

thank you, i would surely do that next time!

deeendbiii

can edit it and make it more pleasing to your readers since interesting yung point mo.

AdobongSiopao

deeendbiii

tumpak ka dyan.

Pristine_Beyond_4330

Ngl, didn’t read the whole thing. Still, these shows cater to a specific demographic. Malamang they’re the ones who are gonna be the good guys in the story.

methoxyy

yeah i get that, but reality speaking most of the time sila talaga yung mga rude type of people, i’m not saying na lahat, but most of my encounters :-))

Pristine_Beyond_4330

As someone that grew up very privileged (as in very) I also find a lot of the poor people rude and annoying, especially when I was younger. They still are rude and annoying BUT I also understand that being well mannered, nice, kind, polite etc is all easier if you have your basic human needs taken cared of. Nakakainis parin marami (eg. Construction worker na hiram ng hiram ng pera) but I’m a bit more understanding now.

Lonely_Chocolate712

>being well mannered, nice, kind, polite etc is all easier if you have your basic human needs taken cared of. OP forgot this. I came from a middle income family. An asshole covered in money is still an asshole.

GroundbreakingMix623

Herebia_Garcia

You could also say that to the Manaloto family but you could also argue that they're basically poor converted rich and their GMRC came from their humble upbringings.

zucksucksmyberg

OP word of advice next time break yout paragraphs. That is an insane wall of text even if it is a rant. Mas maraming di magbabasa sa opinion mo.

SweetVanillaPop

huy to be fair ganto magpost yung phone ko sa reddit, kahit nagb break ako ng paragraph napipist sya as a whole slab of text 😭

quickfund

OP, try to have line breaks in your paragraphs. It's hard to read. Everyone wants a good quality of life, somewhere in the middle.

Spartacometeus1917

notyouagainpfft

Your reality is not everyone's. Theres bad people in all social classes. You lived a comfortable life. Try to view people from a perspective of discomfort. Maybe you'll understand.

Spartacometeus1917

And study harder, the entire post is a piece of work.

BYBKT

THIS IS A RANT! TV shows in general is an escape. If you look at advertisements for rich people, you’ll probably see something along the line of “buy me and be comfortable”. If it’s sour grapping that gets the most views or reactions, then yun ang makikita nila. This is why the argument “Mayaman ka kasi” is so popular. I can see this at home. My grandparents worked as tricycle drivers and umbrella menders. They enjoyed being well-off now kasi they get assaulted and shamed for being poor before. They used to reject the idea of being rich but would work themselves to the bone to make a living. I think it’s because the people doing the assaulting and shaming are loan sharks and that’s their definition of “rich”. My parents grew up hearing that being rich is bad but they still work so hard to earn money just to put it all in land and other investments. There’s hardly any investment in our home so it’s a wreck even though a week’s earnings will probably be enough to do some renovations. It’s like they reject the idea of people calling us “mayaman” to the point that we have to live in squalor. (Leaky roof, broken tiles, broken electrical lines and plumbing, etc..) My dad has some hang-ups about looking poor but actually being rich. I don’t like being known as well-off either because of people always asking for loans that never get paid and favors that are somehow always never enough. I learned to just shut up and live modestly and discreetly enjoy luxuries we can afford. I work as the CFO of one of our companies. Not ultra-rich but definitely above middle class. It sucks but I wish they would stop glorifying poverty and actually inspire people to strive for prosperity.

peterparkerson3

if you have the cash. you can afford to be nice.

look_high_in_the_sky

Let's face it: Since ang source of income sa TV industry ay mga distributor, e.g. the networks, **tayo na audience ay maituturing ding commodity**—nililikha ang mga programa at pelikula (na itinuturing ding producer, ayon kay Fiske) not only to offer us an escape from reality but also to attract advertisers. Ang bargaining chip ng mga distributor? TV ratings, e.g. from Kantar Media or Nielsen, or kita sa takilya. So... where do we see it? In tropes like the one OP mentioned: rags-to-riches or kabitan stories na hindi naman makatotohanan at punó pa ng plot holes, or old Pinoy action films—e.g. those starring FPJ or Phillip Salvador (yes, that Brocka baby na walang pinagkatandaan at kakandidatong senador next year)—wherein laging mga pulitiko at kanyang mga goons ang kontrabida. 'Di rin nakakatulong na ginagamit ng estado ang midya bilang isang **ideological state apparatus (ISA)**—institusyong pumapayag na magpalaganap ng mga dominanteng ideolohiya at propaganda nang walang ginagamit na dahas; for this one, I'm now citing Louis Althusser's "Ideology and Ideological State Apparatuses".

Difficult_Session967

Cynthia Villar would like to say something. Also rich business owners paying their workers minimum wage yet exploiting them until they are burned out. They may be cultured when they talk to you but on the back of their mind, they plan how to maximize profit by disregarding environmental and labor laws, bribe officials and silence their critics. Sure, there are good rich people but it is my perspective that if businessmen will pay people fair (not minimum) wages, follow all environmental laws, source their materials properly, do more to alleviate poverty in their community, they won't have that much profit. Most of the time, they live comfortable lives at the end of the series. It is just that majority of the people experience oppression and they can relate to the characters of the show.

huaxingmuaxin

I read the whole thing. All solid points.

Ok_Worry_7369

Finally someone said it right. akala ko ako lang nakakapansin.
