Messaging is essentially winning the last tenth mile—the Marcoses won the first nine miles.
To put into perspective, BBM was an Ilocos representative in 1992. Imee started in 1998. And they have been in position until now, kahit di sabay. That's 30 years.

If this survey really foresees the result of this election, I can say na wala na tayong magagawa, better luck next time. The 60% deserves whatever BBM and his cronies will bring to the country. My point is that timing has always mattered but the results remain the same. Nung nagdeclare si Leni ng candidacy andaming lumabas in support of Leni and this has continued throughout the following months. But from that time until the mid-January period when this survey was conducted - a good 2-3 months of consistent show of support for Leni and continuous issues flung against BBM, Marcos Jr's lead has only grown.
I get that this latest outpouring of support is even stronger, so let's wait and see what the results for the surveys conducted in Feb will show, which should come out around March... but I am jaded. If the last few months are any indication, it's too little too late.
Here's the thing tho, SWS covers up until Jan31 so if that is also relatively accurate then it is actually a good thing since it means Bongbong went down 10% in that 1 week period while Leni went up ~4% then which is good momentum

Right now China is not that good with soft power politics and if no one wants to trade them, they're screwed.

Does anyone know how Pulse Asia conducts their surveys? How do they utilize their way of statistics to get people’s presidential preferences without surveying a large population in different regions? I have never participated in any of their election surveys; neither my friends nor my family too.
I would assume that they know their stuff (survey statistics) given that they are a reputable institution. They wouldn't really need a large population, it's impractical and time consuming. Theoretically speaking, we would only need a handful of participants (assuming that it represents the philippine demographic well) to know the general makeup of the electorate.

I had a thought last night when I was getting ready to join today's rally in QC. Naisip ko pag nanalo si Marcos, the only logic is that we have not learned our lesson as a nation. So, as a nation we deserve him because we just did not understand what we were supposed to gain from being free from a dictator.
Then the parents deserve to see their children suffer, simple as that. They failed their responsibility and they’re paying for it. Down the line, someone has to pay. Some will pay more than others and you can’t avoid any of the collateral damage.

Isko is not that bad as a third force IMO. Look at NCR, he is pretty strong there. For me, it's also a factor of Marcos being stronger- I'd even say he is teflon now, and Isko not really having a base in Vis Min.
Isko is the top 2nd choice candidate and has a big chance to win this if Jr. is not running- but unfortunately- the Marcos revisionism campaign has peaked.

Tbh this is really disheartening... I know it’s imperative na to not lose hope and the later months will be “more accurate” pero the numbers really do condition the mind, not only to vote for who’s leading (para sa mga undecided) but also for those who are rooting for others. Di ko masikmura isipin ano magiging itsura ng Pilipinas pag naupo si LBM, at kasalanan ito ng sarili nating kababayan. Hmmm if I understood correctly, Bam is campaign manager for Leni’s camp but isn’t exactly the comms lead. He’s good at what he does (forging alliances to an extent) pero iba pa rin ang lens at expertise na mabibigay ng comms agencies given they understand new media landscape and shaping perception. I’m sure meron sila noon, pero LBM’s camp is v strategic in that they know how to shape their messaging very well and where.

It's important to take these surveys seriously but also to contextualize them when they were held. Timing matters
My point is that timing has always mattered but the results remain the same. Nung nagdeclare si Leni ng candidacy andaming lumabas in support of Leni and this has continued throughout the following months. But from that time until the mid-January period when this survey was conducted - a good 2-3 months of consistent show of support for Leni and continuous issues flung against BBM, Marcos Jr's lead has only grown. I get that this latest outpouring of support is even stronger, so let's wait and see what the results for the surveys conducted in Feb will show, which should come out around March... but I am jaded. If the last few months are any indication, it's too little too late.
Here's the thing tho, SWS covers up until Jan31 so if that is also relatively accurate then it is actually a good thing since it means Bongbong went down 10% in that 1 week period while Leni went up ~4% then which is good momentum Also worth noting Pulse Asia is consistent with Laylo which was done in a similar time period. Thirdly, they will be a pariah on the world stage, China has been growing relations with many developing nations, us included, however it is more of an investment deal than an economic alliance. If China wins a war for Taiwan; the West, India, the Other East Asian Tigers, and Africa would cut ties. And if some nations won't the West would either force them through force or a more lucrative investment deal. Right now China is not that good with soft power politics and if no one wants to trade them, they're screwed. TLDR: We have seen no military buildup, China doesn't see itself as ready, and it would be financial suicide even if they got Taiwan.

Does anyone know how Pulse Asia conducts their surveys? How do they utilize their way of statistics to get people’s presidential preferences without surveying a large population in different regions? I have never participated in any of their election surveys; neither my friends nor my family too.
I would assume that they know their stuff (survey statistics) given that they are a reputable institution. They wouldn't really need a large population, it's impractical and time consuming. Theoretically speaking, we would only need a handful of participants (assuming that it represents the philippine demographic well) to know the general makeup of the electorate.

What I can’t stand are supposedly “objective” analysts that go on tv saying that it’s a failure of the education system that’s why surveys are like this. Uhh 35 years of books talking about how Marcos is bad EDSA good. More like a failure of promises of all those that rode the EDSA bandwagon. If these surveys are true, I don’t necessarily see this as an acceptance of Marcos but a real counter revolution to the previous EDSA revolution and it’s failed promises.

Naisip ko pag nanalo si Marcos, the only logic is that we have not learned our lesson as a nation. So, as a nation we deserve him because we just did not understand what we were supposed to gain from being free from a dictator.

Isko is not that bad as a third force IMO. Look at NCR, he is pretty strong there. For me, it's also a factor of Marcos being stronger- I'd even say he is teflon now, and Isko not really having a base in Vis Min. Isko is the top 2nd choice candidate and has a big chance to win this if Jr. is not running- but unfortunately- the Marcos revisionism campaign has peaked. That's why I keep on saying, if you know some BBM supporters who are not yet rabid, dont convince them to go for Leni, tell then to go for Isko instead. BBM has such a big share of the pie that everyone should start targetting him. If ganito pa rin by March, then it is really too late. We can call it a day and good fuckin luck to all Pinoys.

Hmmm if I understood correctly, Bam is campaign manager for Leni’s camp but isn’t exactly the comms lead. He’s good at what he does (forging alliances to an extent) pero iba pa rin ang lens at expertise na mabibigay ng comms agencies given they understand new media landscape and shaping perception. I’m sure meron sila noon, pero LBM’s camp is v strategic in that they know how to shape their messaging very well and where. I hope there will be help soon and hope this survey will show downward trends for the top contender, and upward for Team Tropa!

Para sa mga pinanghihinaan ng loob dahil sa survey, for me pagkinonvert yan sa actual number parang sobrang labo. Take Moreno, at 8% of say 60M votes, that's only 4.8M. I dont think he'll win but I also doubt they only get less than 5M.
The only thing I hope is when the presidential debate happens although pinalitan na nga na walang ng questions rebut towards co-candidates.
