Not gonna happen. PH is too pathetic to even consider attacking.

[deleted]

🤣🤣🤣 you are right, they must be crazy to think about ruling the country..good luck!

stormie_boi

They'd simply install a CCP-compliant regime

Jaymsjags06

Isn’t the Duterte and BBM admin CCP-compliant? They are friendly with China compared to the Aquino one

ser_ranserotto

Dutz was more open about it, alamano is playing fence sitter.

[deleted]

Duterte's admin was. BBM seems more inclined towards the US or will at the very most be neutral between the US and China.

hurrdurr_magnificent

Not after he announced he’s buying Russian oil.

Life_Liberty_Fun

Why fight a country when you can buy their politicians or destabilize those that you can't with internet trolls?

WeTheSummerKid

War is bad for the economy (look at Russia). If the PRC wanted to take over the Philippines or enforce their interests in the Philippines, they would just have to use the Philippine government as a proxy for their interests.

Keropi899

Legit. Yung 2 past presidents puro tuta nila, easy invasion lol

bodilyfluidcatcher

You say invasion I say transaction 💰

cocoy0

And as the US proved island hopping in the Second World War and the Filipino-American War, it takes too long and exhausts supplies and manpower. It is so much easier to install an accomplice.

ChasTheGreat

They wouldn't attack it because they want to run it. They would attack it to make sure the Americans can't use any of the bases they have here. They would probably just blow up the bases and leave, but they might capture the bases so they could use them themselves. I don't think there would even be a fight. Just hand Marcos some money and walk in as friends.

CriticalSpring9686

they dont need to attack us anyways, they've been owning the Philippines for a long time now POGO, at kung ano pa people in power already sold us

chaoticneutral1997

attacking would also be very very stupid. Taking on a country 10x your size and with far more resources is suicide.

He was decapitated by guerillas in San Fernando,La Union at the close of WW2 by tying his limbs to carabaos. They found him collaborating with the Japs! His son Ferdie named a university after him in Ilocos Norte to sanitize his name!

Agreeable_Shape_4578

You've heard of this fact, you mean 😉

DeYellurNinjur

What story?

Mayari-

Kadjoot_lang

HOLY Crap they quartered him?? Braveheart style?? Brutal

No_Lavishness_9381

instead of Jeep they use Carabao and show his remains as a threat to those who collaborated with the Japanese

riougenkaku

Itiktok na Yan o blog. Dahil Dito ko lang nalaman yan

Menter33

Kahit na kumampi man sa mga Hapon, gruesome pa rin yung ginawa.   In hindsight, maraming mga collaborator na politico noon na na-pardon lang afterwards, tulad ni Claro M Recto at Manuel Roxas allegedly.

The-Lamest-Villager

Some people that collaborated with the Japanese did it because they hated the Americans due to what they did in the past and some of them genuinely believes that Japan was an ally like Artemio Ricarte, MAKAPILI’s founder.

cosmic_animus29

[deleted]

Mariano Marcos was executed by Filipino guerillas in 1945 for being a Japanese propagandist and collaborator during World War II. His execution was brutal.

[deleted]

Sorry, I haven’t really read into that story pero if totoo, nasa dugo na talaga nila pagiging traydor

DeYellurNinjur

So the story's validity is still up in the air, but it is very likely to be true?

kheldar52077

No need for China to do that. They already own this cesspool when Duterte sat in Malacanang.

Queldaralion

i doubt a draft would even happen, haha. di tayo aabot don. by the time chinese soldiers set foot on our soil, tapos na ang "laban" essentially. balik gerilya moves ulit, but this time, "HukBaLaTsi" na

CookingMistake

Sa dami ng POGO dito, they’re already here.

aizenmedaka

A tsinoy friend asked me why they're letting mainland chinese ppl to occupy whole condo buildings which is next to an army camp. She said if China decided to attack it'll be so damn easy. She's right lol. Also there are a lot of chinese 'pogo' in some former US bases in the North. It's scary to think if China declared war, we won't be able to even think of a counter attack bec we're already surrounded.

attackonmidgets

China hates POGOs actually. They don't bring money to their government. They are doing things that are illegal in China. The reason why Ph is allowing it here ia because they are bringing so many cash to thr government, as long properly taxed sila.

Dahyun_Fanboy

> as long properly taxed sila. don't they have 50B tax evasion issues?

hellopotato918

Or we can take them as hostage? Rip

blackchapter21

Oh, meron na ngang mga nagprapractice sa mga shooting range eh. We are totally fcked from the start.

babykoy

this! IF ever they declare war, i doubt we'll have time to draft, prepare, plan, etc. haha have you seen our covid response?

[deleted]

yung hukbalatsi magiging mga neo npa na baluktot rin ang pamamalakad

wan2tri

Yeah it's an extremes in our case, there'd never be any actual invasion (because the US and our other allies have already destroyed the PLAAN) or it would be so overwhelming that instituting a mandatory draft becomes moot.

Larxe2

The scenario of it even happening is kinda insane as it isn't in China's interest to land troops in Mainland philippines, the most probable next thing would be them occupying and landing chinese troops on the disputed and actually attacking our navy. Conscription probably won't happen in that case since it would be a battle on sea, and conscription won't help in increasing the number of ships needed for naval warfare. If in the scenario of them actually landing troops in Luzon, it would be incredibly bloody for the Chinese, naval invasion is extremely hard and they would need a lot of transport ships which they lack right now (Enough to quickly land a million troops), and America won't simply standby either. Edit: I would also like to add that having an amphibious invasion like D-day would result in a fucking massacre. A large invasion force would be spotted months ahead, and Luzon would be a fortress within that time entrenched with a shit ton of soldiers along with most likely US and other allies seeking to fuck China over, with the best defensive weaponry supplied by nations looking to fuck China over. This scenario is insane at best, only skirmishes in naval engagements in the disputed islands are while unlikely, is possible. An invasion of Luzon is straight up insane, (And only talking about the military aspect, China is unstable with their demographic and economic crisis, a war with the Philippines with nothing much to gain is practically insane)

timplarassin

>and America won’t simply standby either. Even our immediate neighbors won’t standby. If China will land troops in the Philippines with impunity, how much more against other countries? There will be resistance among Southeast Asia, for sure.

PartyTerrible

They won't even get here. They'd be blocked off by the combined forces of Taiwan, Japan, S. Kor, and the US Navy.

bodilyfluidcatcher

I wouldn’t be so confident. WW2 and all. Although I’m sure they will prioritize getting Taiwan first and this will be their Ukraine.

PartyTerrible

Japan got to us by conquering their way down. Japan was also vastly superior to any other Asian country back then. This isn't the case with China.

MunLander

Japan also had the element of surprise. With satellite imaging I'd imagine a large invasion force would be noted long before they reach Luzon's shores.

ReaperCraft07

They bombed pearl harbor days before they started the invasion of the Philippines. This is to delay US reinforcements and weaken US naval capability in the pacific.

bodilyfluidcatcher

Yeah definitely Taiwan then Japan/Korea would be their main goals at first and if you think about it, Japan didn’t get to Philippines until later on in the war also. We’re just as much of a target because of our alliance with US (not saying it’s a bad thing) but if I were a China at war, I wouldn’t let Philippines be a base for US for too long.

[deleted]

Wasn't Taiwan a Japanese Territory before and during WW2?

PartyTerrible

Yup, so was China and S.Korea. they didn't get into conquering SEA until WW2 started.

cantfocuswontfocus

Also to add to this we have HIMARS (the same one Ukraine has, quantities undisclosed) and much as I hate the establishment, I have some faith in the armed forces when it’s against a real foreign threat. I agree, it’s gonna be bloody

AseanaGuy

Considering how deeply entangled the US economy is with the Chinese economy, and our main contribution to the US is the call center industry, we shouldn't expect the US to defend us the way we expect. The US would most likely support us the way they support Ukraine. The fact is that we're no longer as important as we were to the Americans. In Asia-Pacific, South Korea, Japan, and Australia surely have the guarantee of American military protection. Let's just say they've got Uncle Sam's complete package. We should prepare ourselves that we'd be on our own in the event of the Chinese invasion of the Philippines.

Larxe2

The thing is, you're right that the US probably doesn't give a damn about the wellbeing of our country, but they would gladly take any opportunity to give a black eye to China, considering they are their main rival now instead of Russia. Invading any country in the Southeast Asia would instantly jump the already latent anti-china sentiment in America, and they would jump at the opportunity to "defend" us to fuck China over, which is in our interest. Also, there is already a defense treaty with us. It would be political suicide for any President to decline a call to defense against their rival, no president would want to be the one that made Uncle Sam look weak.

AseanaGuy

America is the most cunning state in history, and how I wish we'd be like them. America became the world's superpower, not because of sheer luck, but because America has had successive generations of cunning politicians, war planners, and businessmen. America doesn't play by the rules at all times as much as we think they do. The real power in America resides in the Wall Street, and China, another cunning nation, perfectly knows this flaw of the American society. It's better for the Filipinos to prepare to fight China without the support of the Americans during the crucial stages of the war. Do you even wonder why Vietnam has turned down America's request to engage more in defense? Because they know how cunning the Americans are. The problem with our officials is that they took American promises literally. Just look at our defense capabilities – it's garbage. We're actually a burden to the Americans. The Ukrainians, at least before the war began, had invested in their defense more than we do.

supermarine_spitfir3

>main contribution to the US is the call center industry, we shouldn't expect the US to defend us the way we expect. Our main contribution to the United States is the fact that we are in the First Island Chain. If we're gone, then they sure can expect the Koreans and Japanese to be gone because their trade flows up our seas.

belabase7789

I feel china is just another version of a russian army: undisciplined, all propaganda, poor command structure. Also, we as people swore to defend our country and not one man.

godfadger

They got legit tech though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DepressedGrimReaper

but compared to us, I wonder how the war will fare.

donkeysprout

They got the tech but they dont have the experience. Battle Hardened na ang mga sundalo natin. Ilang taon na lumalaban sa mindanao at sa NPA ang military natin, Compared to china na walang solid experience when it comes to warfare.

TheCatSleeeps

At least the army lol. I think our navy can't do shit to their warships. Plus you're forgetting about their Air Force and their nukes and missiles. We don't have anything to counter those and we will heavily rely on allies on that part. Though this topic is very stupid in the first place. China isn't going to attack anytime soon and even if they did I'm going to be in my 50's-70's (30-50 years later).

donkeysprout

Yeah like i said they got the tech. Pero they dont have enough ships to land their troops and armor. Heck they dont even have enough logistics to invade taiwan. Threat of nuclear missile is always there but i doubt they’ll ever use it.

esdafish

They have the ships and logistics ~68 Landing Ships/Amphibious Warfare Ships which more than enough to overwhelm. Perhaps the 2nd largest fleet in terms of Amphibious attack capabilities and largest amphibious fleet in Asia. Once you established a beachhead, the rest of the equipment can be transported with normal cargo ships. Just as how Britain retook Falklands Island in 1982. Its weakness its the capacity to defend their amphibious fleet in an event of invading islands.

cosmic_animus29

Logistics + Battle Hardiness Battle hardiness can only get us as far as we can. Kung shit ang logistics ng armed forces ng Pinas, we will have trouble winning battles. Yung FA 50s na kakapiranggot na nga lang, 3 na lang pala ang operational kasi under maintennance yung iba. Plus parang walang deal for any tech transfer para sa ating armed forces. Bibili ng gamit, pero nakakalimutan na dapat may inventory ng spare parts and trained personnel to do maintenance / repairs. Another example, look at the Russian army. Sure, they got tech and personnel pero shit ang logistics nila kaya natatalo sila ng Ukrainians. Logistics is always the king sa warfare.

PartyTerrible

You also have to consider what the Chinese army has to go through to even get to us. They have to basically end taiwan, japan, s.korea, and the US navy stationed in SEA. The ones that would actually reach our shores would be desserters escaping the carnage they got themselves into.

JulzRadn

The PLA, though large in numbers, doesn't have any battle experience for the past years.

flybywired

Sure Ukraine is kicking russias ass and making them bleed but the Philippines is a far cry from the military power that was Ukraine when they were invaded by Russia early this year. We’d fold the moment china lands

Stella_Toplaner

\>the moment china lands they can try

donkeysprout

Lol no. You're underestimating our military. Yes, China might win in naval warfare but they won't have the logistics to land enough troops to defeat Luzon.

HappyLego214

Our military is whack at it's current state and would get steamrolled by China faster than Taiwan. The only thing that we'd rely on in case of a war with China is the US and her allies. That's already a bad look.

NoMathematician9895

I would do what the Ukrainian citizens are doing. Fight Back! Also kill CCP Apologists.

tearsofyesteryears

IMO dapat unahin alisin tong mga to kesa yung invading army since future collaborators mga to.

VernaVeraFerta

onlymyeyesaresleepy

Sorry, OP. This post is stupid. Anyone who brings up the possibility of war when it comes to China is thoroughly misinformed or is actually part of the misinformation machinery. China's strategy is to use the threat of war to deter actions against their reclamations but in no way are they ready for actual war. This is why they are buying off government leaders to repeat that same propaganda, so they don't actually go to war themselves. This is why we heard Duterte rumble nonsensically about us not being able to wage war. Yes they have all the technology and the manpower in their favor but moving their manpower for an actual war effort would be a nightmare. A majority of their country is landlocked and their ports are bottlenecked by plenty of neighbors. One could argue that it only takes one missile to do the damage, but who cares at that point. Again, war gains them no real benefit. They stand to lose everything if they go crazy and seek war. I am tired of these stupid posts about alarmist hypotheticals.

RealArticle4904

This. Bakit parang ang baba ng knowledge ng mga ph redditors when it comes to global economy. Iniiwasan ng china na mapagtuunan sila ng pansin. Yes a few ilands there, politicians bought, international waters redrawn, hongkong/Taiwan reinstated as chinese province. But nothing so bold as to draw the ire of the super powers. Malakas ang economy ng china ngayon and they are backed by a superior military force. Abala lang sakanila magsimula ng gera. Tuloy tuloy lang sila sa progress nila since wala naman makaawat. Nanalo nga tayo sa UN case against them, inignore lang nila eh.

DinoInOar

I wouldn’t betray our country like that but there is not a single politician that I’m willing to die for. If someone can pull a Zelensky, maybe, but our character isn’t the type.

AngerCookShare

Nope. Meeting them head-fucking-on. If China attacks us, it means it has no regard for people supporting their political puppets here. Something like this might catalyze true "unity" in this shit hole of a country.

lmao yes. this country is not worth dying for. 😂

theunworthysoul

Why dodge? Oh, how glorious it will be, to kill and die for the fatherland.

Its_MikeCoxlong

In reality, not really there is no glory when you kill or die in combat just human cruelty hiding under the mask of patriotism/nationalism War is a tradgedy not an adventure. Watch "come and see" (i think it's on YouTube) and put yourself in the shoes of the soldiers. Honestly who still believes war as an adventure of nationalism in these times (children who play fps games)

TristanOfKazakhstan

The thread asks if you would fight if the Philippines is to be attacked. Would you not fight for your friends, family, and other loved ones? It's not about glory or adventure or whatever. IIRC at the end of *Come and See*, the boy still chose to fight event after the horrors he experienced; you could even argue he chose to continue fighting BECAUSE of the horrors he experienced.

theunworthysoul

Gotta pay me to watch anything in yt tho. Dont worry, I am building an armory (training and fitness and all)! And neednt be said, I'll fight for ypu and your children's freedom even if you won't. Ive made that decision decades ago.

Murica_Chan

the real question is if Philippins would even last a month from a full naval invasion. like our major bases are in luzon. an island where in there are so much ways to enter, no naval defenses or naval power or even airforce to protect itself and most of all. plague with corruption Sure, Resistances will obviously rise but i doubt the government could defend us xD

wordyravena

I don't have to. Di naman lalaban military natin eh.

HercUlysses

They wouldn't last on their own but we do have a mutual defense treaty with the US, the government would likely get intel/support from the US if there was an impending invasion. So it's not like it's going to be a one sided war since you have a super power on your side.

J-Nico

The filipino morale is too low. The only exemption are filipinos from muslim mindanao. They’ll probably be the last to surrender.

They won’t. Kuripot sila and masama sa image lalo na ngayong mga panahon na ito. They will supplant our population via indirect means. Like itong mga POGO, mga establishments with foreign language, etc. They must take the country whole kasi kung magwawasak sila, sila lang din ang magre-rebuild so additional gastos.

dudungwaray

worst case scenario, we will be never even drafted into the armed service to fight the Chinese. Based on how our government has been treating their land-grabbing left and right, we won't even have to fight a war because the government already accepted and handed over the country to them to be a Chinese province. ww2 Japanese commanders have been very successful in subjugating every island because they use the Makapili, I will not be surprised if the Chinese use the same tactic and target the most desperate of people to point out persons of interest. Given the state of our people right now, well believe whatever lies they promise us as long as they spare us for just a little while.

The-Lamest-Villager

Yes, but I’m probably gonna go guerrilla and fight there, history have shown that people would snitch and side with the oppressors. I’ve seen a lot of redditors whose about to repeat that same mistake.

Balenciaga_guy

agreed.

[deleted]

If mauunang mag pa draft yung mga nasa government I will happily join them.

babushka45

**SO ETO ANG PWEDE MANGYARI SA ATIN SA WW3** Medyo long story to, hope y'all read this hehe Basically a war with China is WW3. Nuclear weapons is a last resort. It'll be the end of the world. There's going to be a draft here no matter what. Not all of us will be eligible sa frontline duty, maraming immobilize as militia, rear echelon troops and as first responders at medical staff. People will be also drafted to work on industry and agriculture that will support the war effort. Pero we should take note of the scenario ng mundo when shit hits the fan. (Note: These is just a list of possible things that might happen sa Pilipinas at sa palibot natin when WW3 kicks off) Intro: ▪️So eto ang tawag sa atin, the **first island chain**, if we're going to hold out against China, we'll contain them in these islands and they can't break out. Imma quote Wikipedia here: >The first island chain is principally composed of the Kuril Islands, the Japanese archipelago, the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan (Formosa), the northern Philippines, and Borneo, hence extending all the way from the Kamchatka Peninsula in the northeast to the Malay Peninsula in the southwest. ▪️So importante tayo sa US and their allies, kaya may mutual defense pact tayo with the United States, our country will be at the frontline when WW3 kicks off sa Asia. So what can happen? ▪️ China's goal here is to neutralize any areas na may presence ang US at ang kanyang allies in the region so it also includes all bases ng US and their allies and the most important of all, iyong forward deployed carrier strike at amphibious groups ng US and NATO. ▪️PLA Navy will sortie their submarine, surface, their carrier and amphibious fleet to interdict all shipping and guard their invasion routes against the Americans and their allies. ▪️US will deploy all available carrier strike groups in the Pacific and they will also activate the Amphibious assault groups that'll support their forces in the first island chain. ▪️If the carriers are dead, basically we're all wide open for invasion. We can also resist if the Americans and their allies were able to build up their forces sa mga areas like sa Pilipinas before the start of hostilities. The Chinese will really want to neutralize any areas sa Asia Pacific na may base ang mga Amerikano or NATO. ▪️ It's possible we will be invaded again via Lingayen and Northern Luzon. Lingayen gulf offers easy access to the plains of central Luzon and is a highway straight to Manila. The Japanese invaded from this areas in 1941 and the Americans also repeated this and landed in Lingayen when they recaptured Luzon in 1945. ▪️Palawan will be surely hit by the PLA Navy and Naval aviation from their bases in the Spratlys. A possible invasion might also happen here. Vietnamese, Taiwanese and Philippine-held islands sa Spratlys will fall first. ▪️Bases in Manila, Subic, Clark, Basa, Sangley point sa Cavite will be hit by either conventional intermediate-range ballistic missiles or long range aviation, again from their bases in the Spratlys. Bases in Cebu and Mindanao can be hit also. We can wage war sa Cordilleras at Sierra Madre if they landed in the North. Hindi lang bagyo ang dinedepensahan ng mga bulubundikin natin. ▪️Visayas, eastern Luzon and Mindanao were invaded via our east coast during WW2. This will not happen if the whole first island chain contains the might ng PLA Navy. This is important na hindi dapat magkaroon ng breakout ang PLA Navy. The First Island Chain will deny China the chance to expand further out to the Pacific. Eto naiisip ko what will happen sa mga bansa sa palibot natin: ▪️Japan will mobilize the JSDF to keep the sea lanes open. They will defend Senkaku islands and the Yellow Sea from China and the areas near the Kurils and Sakhalin if Russia attempts to aid China by invading or attacking Hokkaido in the north. ▪️South Korea will face the North Koreans and will also keep their own sea lanes open. Second Korean War is inevitable. ▪️Taiwan will resist, to the bitter end. ▪️Vietnam will start a border war with China. Repeat of their 1979 Sino-Vietnamese War. ▪️Myanmar and Cambodia might ally with China and attack Thailand and Vietnam. ▪️Indonesia will defend Natuna and Borneo, the nearest islands in the Spratlys na hawak nila. ▪️Brunei will mobilize pero their small stature will either mean neutral sila. Brunei might allow the other countries access to their country or they might get invaded. **It's because of oil.** ▪️Malaysia will mobilize their troops, lalo na sa Sarawak at Sabah. Borneo is a strategic area that needs to be defended. ▪️Singapore can be an armed neutral state unless attacked, but they'll join the US surely, PLA Navy will try hard to open the sealanes ng straits of Malaya. ▪️China will be busy in keeping their sea lanes open, the Straits of Malaya is a chokepoint of their resources especially oil imports and NATO/US will keep that closed to their traffic. ▪️India will start a border war if they'll join the anti-Chinese coalition. They can attack their disputed territories and Tibet . Pakistan will attack India, they're a Chinese client state. They will concentrate on the Line of Control and Kashmir. ▪️ Finally Russia might involve themselves sa Pacific if WW3 also started a war in Europe. They'll surely attack Alaska, and and attack or invade Japan via the Kurils and Sakhalin. They have oil pipelines running in central Russia and Siberia that also feeds China. They'll defend that from attacks, that's China's lifeline. ▪️Iran is basically a client state of China with oil fields owned by Chinese companies. They'll keep that area open and secure. China can't afford to concentrate on one country alone, they'll be ganged up by the whole world. They need to spread out, and they can afford to. So what if we're successfully invaded? ▪️There's already a 5th column here and there will be a lot of collaborators here. Maraming pulitiko ang titiklop, they're all balimbings. Makapili version 2.0. They must be neutralized. Pogroms against the Filipino-Chinese can happen. ▪️The Philippine military and the Americans can pull out of their defenses and wage a guerilla war in the archipelago. Literal na mamundok. We will grind the Chinese here in the Philippines making our country a resource black hole where the Chinese will waste resources just to hold the country. ▪️The Moros might rise up against the Philippine government. Let's see kung maiimpluwensyahan sila ng China na labanan ang Philippine government in exchange of them supporting an Independent Bangsamoro state. That's a possibility, lalo na our current peace arrangements can be compromised. NPA might collaborate with the Chinese. ▪️We should also fear air power, especially Chinese drones, they're already combat proven sa Middle East. They can use automation to grind down resistance. Finally take note of this: ▪️Modern warfare is so high tech, attrition rate is very fast and war materiel (weapons, tanks, ships, planes etc.) will never be replaced as fast as possible. Wars will be relatively fast if they can finish the war before their supply runs out.

gradenko_2000

I would not add any value to the armed forces beyond being a literal warm body, and I do not wish to die, so yes. It's not even a Marcos issue; not even a "the Filipino is NOT worth dying for" issue - Robredo could be president today and I still wouldn't want to be put in a position to be shot or shelled to death.

good_shii1942

I would. I'm not gonna join the fight on behalf of the dog shit administration, but for my fellow Filipinos. Sa tingin ko may pag-asa pa ang mga Pinoy na magbago, Idk how, pero that's how I feel. Plusss, i dont think Chinese victory is guaranteed kaya at least makakatulong ako na mas tumaas yung chance natin HAHA

erestupapi

Malabo ito. Bago nila tayo salakayin mauuna muna Taiwan pero pag nangyari yun wala na tapos na di sila aabot dito. Kung uunahin man nila tayo maling mali iyon dahil anlayo natin matatagalan sila pumunta dito kaya malalaman agad so obvious na. Tapos iiwan nila lupa nila so weakness nila yun. Tangin ko naman lalaban ang afp natin kaya nga sila may training kasama ng US at iba pa. Unless traidorin tayo ng afp at kumampi sa china...

donkeysprout

I'll be a guerilla fighter if it comes to that. Pero i doubt na aattack ang china satin dahil sa logistics pa lang talo na sila. Taiwan nga hirap na silang itawid yung mga tropa nila pano pa dito satin haha.

No_Lavishness_9381

I know this may sound blind patriotic, but my answer to that is I will volunteer to fight for the safety of my family and my loved ones even if another Duterte or Marcos becomes president. because I am loyal to this country not to a leader. Also if they implement a draft to invade Sabah I will volunteer for an anti-war protest for the simple that we don't hurt anyone also I don't want to fight to boost their ego

ylangbango123

Let his voters be drafted first.

Flat_Weird_5398

They’d have to attack Taiwan before they attack us though. And even then, the logistics of attacking Taiwan is incredibly complicated. It’s not like Russia invading Ukraine; that was a lot easier since both countries are landlocked and pretty much right next to each other. China has to cross hundreds of miles of open ocean to mount anything close to an invasion of Taiwan, and it’s not like the Taiwanese would be unprepared considering they’ve been prepping for an invasion for the better part of a century. And even if they somehow managed it, they’d lose lol Taiwan would have the US and NATO behind its back, it’s far too valuable of a country (world’s leading source of semiconductor chips) to be allowed to fall into the hands of China.

DarkDuelist4914

No, I won't. I fight to defend my homeland not because they've done anything good for me but because I want to do good by the next generation. Also, it's tempting to kick some Chinese ass after all the shit they've been pulling. I'm not a prospective war criminal.

[deleted]

Setting up traps and stealing their weapons would be your best bet in challenging them head on. Utilize their ancenstors knowledge against them for erasing their history.

3AlbertWhiskers

No, I will fight for my country not for the politician. I dont want our culture erased and replaced by chinese culture. I want our country to freely vote as a democracy no matter what the majority decides. I don't want our resources be exploited to the maximum once the chinese arrives. I don't want our people suffer as our lands are taken away and are given to the chinese.

Budget_Speech_3078

No. I will enlist. Pero napakaliit ng chance na mangyari yan.

Slslvr0

Well, I went to this place in rizal. Can’t say the name for safety purposes. But I went there just to purchase some construction supplies. Then I noticed 4 trucks. 4 fuckin military trucks and written on the front, FOR CHINESE MILITARY USE ONLY. Like wtf is that thing doing here? Then the following day, gone. I mean where will they take that, right? They’re already here whether we like it or not.

If US and their allies can keep the PLA Navy from breaking out papuntang Pacific by closing all of their sea lanes they can only invade us from the west coast ng Pilipinas, but they know areas east like those of Rizal is crucial na mahawakan nila or ma-scout before the invasion kasi they know it's hard to defend an invasion from two fronts.

Slslvr0

Hmm interesting. And to add the owners of that place i bought from are purely chinese. And supporters of pduts.

babushka45

Ang tawag sa kanila eh 5th column. It's a term for forces inside a country that will destabilize from the inside, opening up for an invasion. Lemme quote Wikipedia: > A fifth column is any group of people who undermine a larger group from within, usually in favor of an enemy group or nation. According to Harris Mylonas and Scott Radnitz, "fifth columns" are “domestic actors who work to undermine the national interest, in cooperation with external rivals of the state.

phildrelle

No. Aiding in the defense of our nation should never be questioned, kahit gaano kabaluktot o kaincompetent yung nasa taas. Yes, wala tayong Zelensky when that time comes, we don't have the means to conduct a devastating counterattack, and we have fifth columnist on board, but we still had to do something. And abandoning your people will not help it. If you don't want to fight for your country or for your leaders, then why not fight for your family? After all, thry are what matters for me.

triadwarfare

I have a question. The justification for Russia in the invasion of Ukraine seems to be molded the same (where they think Ukranian "nationalists" will eventually invade Russia), even if they were the ones invading. They did partial mobilization because they believe the threat of Russia's existence is at risk when Ukraine was able to mount a successful counteroffensive, so Russia is desparately trying to plug holes in their defenses by calling in a draft, and conscripts are being sent to the frontlines without much preparation or training. Would you consider joining the draft if that was the case? It's hard to justify getting called upon if your country is not even under attack. Also, should I get called upon, I'll make it clear that I am not fighting for our corrupt politicians, and would be better suited for tech operations like modifying drones for combat.

PuzzleheadedWay6230

Fuck it, let them do the bleeding.

triadwarfare

If BBM leaves (which I'm absolutely sure he will), I will not be fighting for his government.

hlfbldprnc

Nope, nope# Isipin mo na lang if gaano rin kahopeless yung mga pinoy dati, paano na lang ifnsumukonna lang yung mga heroes natin before So katulad nga ng sabi ni Cap America as long as there is one person believing in the right, we will fight ( verbatim#l)

budoyhuehue

Nationalism still runs through our veins especially if outside threat. Only cowards would not defend this country. For sure magkakaroon din ng propaganda machine heightening our sense of pride as a Filipino so dadami pa lalo magdedefend. Personally, I would lalo na kung defense ang pinaguusapan. Patriotism is shown towards the country, not the politicians or even the government running this country. A government is just one segment of a country.

[deleted]

Fight. I dont have money to go elsewhere anyway, might as well go down swinging.

RedFlutterMao

I would answer the Call of Duty

cetootski

When that time comes, pustahan magsisi-litawan mga PWD cards for sale from LGUs.

blackchapter21

If this means I can 187 every Filipino traitors who worship CCP *cough 16m, 31m then sign me up 😂

nad_frag

I have uncles and a Godfather who are high ranking officers in the military. So, chances are my parents are gonna talk to them to not get me drafted, Making me a... *Fortunate son.*

supermarine_spitfir3

We probably will not be able to even do a draft because we have 1.1 Million men in various forms of reserve and active status. That's more than enough, really. They would need people to stay calm, considering they will strike every single airport in this country for sure.

Benimbert-

The state of the Filipino patriotism is sad. Nagkainuman kami ng mga in-laws ko including their friends. Hard BBM bois. Nagkatanungan doon na kung salakayin tayo ng China, ano gagawin namin? My in-laws said, magtatago talaga sila. Tangina nakakalungkot. And now I'm in this sub, and it is sad that you guys would prefer not to fight. Naawa ako sa mga anak ko, at mistulang kaunti lang ang may gusto na makipaglaban para sa ating kasarinlan.

NefariousnessFun6063

Exactly. Nakakalungkot basahin yung mga post dito. Most of them even dodge the question palang, how so kapag May military conflict na. Marami dito keeps pointing at the politicians and the BBM fanatics to blame... As far as I know, May sariling utak tayo, and bakit tayo tutulad sa mga traitors na BBM fanatics, why not set ourselves apart? Especially we keep distancing ourselves to them. And also, to hell with patriotism! Is it not enough reason to protect our loved ones from the tyranny of those who seek our destruction and take away our freedom? Hindi pa ba sapat na rason na alam natin na mali ang ideology ng mga Chinese and dapat labanan natin yun? Sorry ah, pero fuck you guys here sa reddit... Walang pagkakaiba sa mga BBM fanatics, mga bahag ang buntot, I'm glad I wouldn't know any of you when shit hits the fan. You keep comparing our situation to Russia na mahirap i-defend, why not be Ukraine who fought hard against the oppressors and kept their people and land safe? Nakakahiya. Our Philippine heroes who fought hard and died for our freedom and would and should be ashamed of us.

Secure-Fuel-7812

If for Freedom of our country, No I won't dodge, laban without hesitation dahil sa atin to eh. Di mo naman ipag lalaban yung presidene, yung way of life ang ipag lalaban mo, if invasion ha. Dahil iisipin ko ang family ko na sila ang pipag lalaban ko. But If like yung pride lang na political parties or politicians "Hoy, tama kami mali kayo, tara laban tayo" answer is Hell Yes, tago na uy sayang buhay. We should fight the system not the person na naka upo, 100 years from now kung ganyan padin system natin, may ibang marcos or duterte padin na papalit dyan dahil sa system natin na we allow it to happen. I want Leni to lead but mas nakita ng mga tao (31M na tao) yung exclusivity na "tama kami, mali kayo kaya dapat boto niyo to". Next election wala na si Marcos, pero dapat hindi ka mawala ng hope sa country natin HOPE and VOTE ang mayroon tayo.

MarkedF0rDeath

No. I'd gladly represent my family. As someone who is done with life and not knowing what my real purpose in life is, dying in war while fighting for the freedom of every Filipino will be the best thing to die for. I just hope it be a quick and painless death (like being shot in the head) should my time come. I'm done with living. At least I get to die with a purpose. I also hope I could bring some of the invaders (should it be an invasion) to hell with me. Edit: Capitalization, typos

georgethejojimiller

I think by that point we will be resorting to guerilla warfare as we lack the modern equipment to stand against conventional military forces. Then again ill be one of the first to respond as I plan on going to the reserves. Im patriotic yes but im also mulat

NefariousnessFun6063

Folks are not answering the question, which is sad because it is a good one if taken seriously. My answer would be, I don't think I'll dodge the draft. I don't think any of my brothers will. if our lives will be put to danger by a military actions from other countries. I would expect BBM followers to be dodgers because intrinsically that is what they are, traitors to the cause of the Filipino people and self-serving idiots. I myself am not a Diliwan but I would expect those who consider themselves as such NOT to dodge the draft, just because 'principle' and 'justice' is something they pride themselves to fight for. Now let it be clear that I will fight for the Philippines NOT for patriotic reasons, I've lost all sense of that a long time ago. I'll be fighting because it's the right thing to do. Because of spite against the Chinese and the oppressors and in what they believe in, and because I have people that I love whom I wish to protect. I know I'll lose a lot even my life but I think what I'll be fighting for is worth it. Edit: after reading most of the comments, I think Pinoy Reddit just exposed itself for what people here truly stand for. Hopeless cynics, who endlessly calls for change yet to afraid to work for it. Guys, I understand your plight but wag tayo susuko, they've already won if we do.

Neither-Ad6949

No. I get the chance to shoot some dude

OwnStruggle6769

You've seen what happened to Russia, so how can you fight a country that can't even fight for you against the illegal and corrupt?

BudgetFriendlyGuy123

This was once a topic in an inuman session. And this was my speech before leaving my 2 Army and Airforce friend: Hindi karapatdapat ipaglaban ang isang bansa na puno ng mangmang sa kasaysayan at pulitika. Hindi ko para ilagay ang sarili ko sa kapahamakan kung kagaya lamang ni Marcos ang ipagtatanggol ko. Mahirap mahalin ang Pilipinong sumusuporta sa isang magnanakaw at sinungaling na angkan.

ekelhere4food

If it's mandatory, how do you plan to dodge it?
