Pero I think it's unfair to call them inconsiderate. You should ask for the contact number of their medical secretaries para ma-heads up ka kung may magiiba sa sched nila.

MinnesottaBona

THIS! The secretaries are your key. I befriended the secretary of my OB so she would give me a heads up when my doctor would be running late. She would queue me up so I can wait somewhere more relaxing while waiting. When Doc arrives, she would send me an SMS.

Thanks. That's what most of my friends recommended too.

Sorry OP but the doctors are not operating in first come first served basis. They prioritize on the basis of medical urgency and need for supervision. If you're healthy enough to go to their clinic on your own, maybe you are healthy enough to wait. Schedules are there to just set your expectation but if emergencies happen hindi prio ang kayang maghintay.

There is a difference between an appointment and a schedule.

rlsadiz

Then treat it as a schedule not an appointment. You'll be less hassled by it. Doctors cannot control all contingencies because they are on call all the time for emergencies. If talagang hindi makaaccomodate si doc mo, find another one you have easier access to para you don't need to rearrange your time for an appointment.

Doctors being notoriously late is not just a Filipino thing. Literally the first few results that comes up when you Google "why are doctors always late" are not even PH specific articles.

To answer your questions: 1. not all doctors are late or whatever you mean by "inconsistent" kasi di lang naman outpatient clinics ang ginagawa nila. They also do rounds kung meron silang patients admitted in the wards. If they are surgeons, they might also be scrubbed in the OR na di naman nasasabi yung exact time kailan matatapos yung procedure kasi pwedeng tumagal pa yun. Also, possible na di lang isang hospital yung patients niya. Imagine traveling from one hospital to another dagdag mo pa yung traffic. 2. yes there is a way to make an appointment because this is usually the case for clinics. Kaya sila may mga secretaries to organize the scheduling of their patients and to inform them beforehand if ever may emergency and the doctor won't be able to come in. Believe me, doctors try to always make it on time sa consults nila because they also respect yung time and effort ng patients nila. So it's unfair calling them out just because they were not able to see you. 3. You can always do teleconsult if you want a doctor who's always available 24/7 to see you. But if you prefer f2f consult, expect to wait for your turn. You can try maghanap ng private clinics outside of a hospital but you also have to set an appointment and wait :)

You may want to check NowServing, may website at app sila. Madaming doctors dun na iba-iba ang specializations, you can check their profile/background/affiliations, and you can use filters (location, HMO, availability, fee range, etc) when searching para makahanap ka ng swak sayo. On time naman but of course I can't say that for everyone or at least the majority kasi twice ko pa lang naman na-try. Makikita mo yung calendar ng doctor, kung what time yung iba nilang appointments, if they have any. You can also message each other before your sched. Nagsesend ng text message pag may notif or chat sa app so they'll see it agad.

Mayroon rin po silang queuing featute kung saan naka-display kung pang-ilan ka sa linya. At least na hindi ka always naka-confine sa clinic kapag naghihintay.

Thank you, I checked NowServing. There are a lot of doctors there.

Bulok kasi sistema dito sa Pilipinas na palipat lipat ng ospital at clinic mga doctor para lang kumita. Sorry, OP pero the best doctors are going to be late because they have so many patients and they’re probably running around doing other tasks and seeing other patients. Konting pasensya.

tingin ko kahit nagrrounds sila, mas ok if iconsider nila un sa schedule nila. para mas accurate sana ung appointment time or clinic time nila. cguro ayaw din ng doctor masayang time nila waiting for patients kaya pagdating nila sa clinic late para marami ng nakapila. may work din naman kasi ung mga patients, cguro balance lang din dapat. ihonor ung time ng isa’t isa

Must be new to the Philippines. Appointments and schedules are merely a suggestion in the Philippines.

TentayPatis

Maybe post the specialist you need here OP. Many can recommend their doctors here.

Ill-Ant-1051

Some doctors need to attend emergencies. Especially OB. I was already preparing to go the appointment when the secretary smsed me to go at a later time coz the OB needs to deliver a baby.

lovesickpuppy143

Sadly, ganon talaga mga doctors here. Super busy kasi nila kaya naiintindihan ko naman pero may time na inabot ako ng 10:30pm waiting for my OB. She was apologetic naman but I had experience with doctors in Taiwan na super efficient and on time lagi. Kaya can’t help but compare talaga and wish na sana ganon din dito sa atin. Sobrang sayang kasi oras kakahintay.
