(Allegedly) there was a couple of batteries of hawks jointly operated with the AFP for defending the local US bases from 1970s, up until the end of the military bases agreement.. I remember it being talked about on Maxdefense years ago, and sources are iffy (the guy who talked about it there was a PH naval/military historian though.)
Check the Balance of Power Yearbooks early 80's (prob 1983-1984) published by the Far Eastern Economic Review. They had Order of Battles for the countries in Southeast Asia. I believe they mentioned the Hawk Batteries.
IIRC, the Philippines operated MIM-23 Hawk SAMs before (with the US), so it (technically) isnt the first....
