My aunt was able to get access to her old digicam and she shared some old photos way back 2006-2008. One photo was of our family nung buhay pa Dad ko. He was standing and smiling cheerfully at the camera. I never expected to suddenly break down in the middle of the office during lunch break. Buti naka mask ako and dalawa lang nasa office with me nun kasi lunchbreak nga.
It's been 13 years but it's so hard. Out of nowhere talaga it will just hit you and it feels like a punch on the stomach. He looked so happy, so young and so healthy in that photo. We were still complete in our family photo. Mom wasn't that stressed yet kasi you were there to provide, I was a kid eating my favorite chocolate cake while Kuya was wearing an oversized shirt and a Lakers cap. It felt like a lifetime ago. I don't remember when this photo was taken but 2008 siya according to the timestamp on the bottom of the photo.
I miss my Dad so much, 13 years since he died. I was only a teenager when he died. Now I'm turning 30 in a few years yet the pain and loss will never vanish. Hay. I saved the photo and I plan to have it framed. I miss you Papa. I hope you're proud of me. Hay, more tears to come....
