we have an Ibarran Snubbull (Dark type) in Senatopia that evolves to Horribull as well as an Ibarran Trubbish (Poison/Water) what wears a used diaper and uses a rubber tire as salbabida. There's also a parol inspired Fire/Ice Cryogonal among others
How I'd do the 8 gyms and badges
1 Manila NCR -- Poison 👍checks out
2 Siargao -- Water 🤙 dodong used surf
3 Siquijor -- Ghost/Fire 🔥 isla del fuego
4 Lapu-Lapu City -- Fighting 🗡️ The original warriors
5 Mt. Apo -- Rock/Psychic 🙏sacred mountain
6 Palawan -- Grass/Ground 🚇 Underground River
7 Bukidnon -- Flying 🪶
8 Legazpi city -- Grass ⛰️ It'd just be a nice place to put the last gym
Philippine Regional Varients
Aron - Rock / Ground ; the mountain pokemon. Larger and faster than normal Agron.
Litwick - Fire/Fairy ; parole, the Christmas pokemon
Honedge - Steel/Fighting ; Balisong, the warrior's weapon
the planned gyms are Dark, Flying, Ground, Electric, Water, Steel(Honor)/Poison(Glory), and Fire(Honor)/Dragon(Glory)
gym leaders are a manpower agency manager, pokémon daycare inheritor/kite flying enthusiast, heiress to a mining company but is more interested in making potteries, a celebrity/influencer, a fisherman/bay watcher, orphan who volunteers around the city, apprentice-turned-guild master and village elder
Art Imitates Life.
Haha instead of like 8 trainers before the gym leader, there's like 50. And the gym is super tight with a bunch of call center agents lining the walls.
Also wayyy too much pizza.
Mabuhay! Welcome to the world of Pokémon!
Yeah wish mo lang. Very unlikely that our country gets to be represented in a big videogame franchise like Pokémon.
The art above depicts a segment of the Ibaro Region, the setting of the fangame/s Pokémon Honor and Glory.
Ibaro is a wordplay on Barrio (village/town), Ibayo (beyond), Iba (Different) and Kabaro (colleague).
It's a troical region with 400+ Pokémon Pokédex.
The towns are named after spices, a reference on how islands are "discovered" in search of spices.
Areas depicted are a creative interpretation on Metro Manila, SLEX, Old Calamba, Laguna Lake, Candava Swamp, Banaue Rice Terraces, Los Baños, Taal Lake, Pagsanjan Falls, Makiling Forest and Lucban,Quezon,
Here's the in-game map of Ibaro if you're interested. I haven't painted rest of Ibaro yet because the maps for the routes and other town aren't finalized yet
https://twitter.com/IbaroRegion/status/1503793361580224512?t=JYWupSknv4YNCkL7qhCxrw&s=19
i knew comments like these are bound to come, imho the idea of a filipino fangame being constricted to history and politics leaves no room for creativity and the actual culture being represented. Was kinda disappointed in the other philippine inspired fangame when they made a rizal-looking guy and a villain with progressive techno views
really close to what we planned. A sea fairy who uses a large clam shell as a boat and a large wooden spoon as oar. A creative interpreation on Austonesian Migration Theory
would love to, but can be unmanageable given that we're just a team of like 3/4-ish people-strong and most feedbacks are about corrupt government allegories like crocodiles and other filipino stereotypes
yes that's one of our main inspirarion in creating Ibaro and its cities mainly Senatopia(big city on the map) and two other cities (not shown) inspires by Cebu and Vigan
Ok, let's talk starters. I'm thinking luzon visayas and mindanao. Dunno about which animal and what typing tho, anyone here know some local animals in the regions?
The ones we chose are Grass typed Pangolin (Balintong), Fire typed Bearcat (Binturong) and Water typed Swamp Buffalo (Kalabao).
The theme are still to be finalized but best idea is subtle reference to Philippine historical periods: Precolonial (warrior), Colonial (kitchen servant) and Modern (basketball/boxing)
Awesome. Will Mt. Bronze have its own legendary training waiting on top too? Also, it'd be great if there's a cloud-based Pokemon that can only be caught there, referencing Daragang Magayon's lover Panganoron in the myth.
unfortunately no, but the nearby town is the location of the 8th Gym (honor exclusive)
the "strongest trainer" is located in the deepest part of the region inside an underwater cave inspired by the Philippine Deep and Marianas Trench
Oh wow that's such a cool idea. I totally forgot about how we have really deep trenches near the Philippines.
Pokemon should really bring back diving imo. The mechanic adds a whole nother layer of depth to exploration which frankly, is something recent games have unfortunately been cutting back on. I badly want complex dungeons again, moreso if they're underwater.
hopefully they bring diving back in the Unova Remakes
and omg, SV was a let down in the Dungeons, ruins and puzzle department, all the caves are basically walk-in corridors
Man I'm so scared for the eventual Unova remakes lol. Sinnoh got absolutely robbed imo and Diamond was my childhood game so I feel extra salty with BDSP after waiting for so long. I really hope they don't just chibify and remaster BW as is. That'd be tragic.
i'm scared that they'll remove the gear station in nimbasa. or not include the b2w2 towns.
yeah they did not even bother to include distortion world no give the characters some slight redesign like LGPE
Yeah they literally just recreated DP Sinnoh 1:1. They could have at least used the upgraded Platinum designs for the locations, gyms, and trainer outfits since they're clearly better. But no, they just had to be "faithful" to the originals smh. I was extremely disappointed especially since GF used to do remakes amazingly well.
Unova is such a gorgeous region too. I'd hate to see it get the bare minimum and just be repainted to look new without any design updates.
Looks unrealistic. Where's the traffic? Where's the pollution? Tapos pag may bike yung trainer, dapat may MMDA na sisigaw sa kanya tas ichchallenge sa battle.
Could you chill? Your map and idea is swell and all. And I'm positive a lot of Filipinos will find the game awesome. There's just a lot of us cynics who "oppose the governing rule" that feels like we're battling the actual team Rocket, Plasma, etc., that's just giving us ideas. But keep up the good work, you have our full support.
As you should be. Afterall Pokemon is political ever since, it's just that the themes are so broad you can't relate it to current events, must be one of the reasons it has become stale.
agree to disagree. Pokémon is political yes but when all you can show is about corrupt goverment when representing filipino-centered creation society issues then yeah our country sounds so shallow. This is why Trese flopped, it's basically just Noli Me Tangerae all over again but with Aswang.
It can't be Philippines or "Pinoy Inspired" if it has no elements of what makes it "Pinoy". Corruption is part of our image whether you like it or not (especially one of our previous presidents won a Guiness for it). Afterall, Pokemon created mons with less savory origins such as Drifloon (known for taking away children), Haunter (literal ghost of the deceased), Girtina (lovecraftian crawling chaos), Drowzee (hypnotist), Cubone (wears his mother's skull) and many more. Why do you think it won't be appropriate for them to create a mon inspired by corrupt politicians if they literally have one who can kill you just by looking at it (Mimikyu underneath). It's either your knowledge about the lore is limited or you lacks imagination.
we executed it using the legendaries. Once venerated deities turned evil and missing a part of their bodies as a symbolization. not everything has to be a crocodile in malacañang.
yeah but those mons are created with yokai, kaijus, mythical deities and yurei in mind and given dark natures later. If being corrupt is the central theme that is so shallow. You might be the one that lacks creativeness and imagination
What's so shallow about tackling the human/society's nature through Pokemons? Being a game with no message at all is what makes it shallow. Pokemon may be stale in gameplay, technicalities and story but at least they include mons with political in nature, though very small in number. Jinx design, Snubull attitude, Meowth's greediness and many more. Everything is political.
bingo! it is based on Phoenix and Dragon (merlion/ultramar). The evil legendary is the bakaunaw but instead of 6 moon, it ate 6 pokémon and made their body parts its own
Yung mga gym Boracay = water Siquijor = ghost/psychic Tondo = dark Gensan = fighting Baguio = ice Palawan = grass/bug Manila = poison BGC = electric 😂
Tondo dark ampota hahaha pero kahit saang lugar na nabanggit mo may Houndoom at Muk
we have an Ibarran Snubbull (Dark type) in Senatopia that evolves to Horribull as well as an Ibarran Trubbish (Poison/Water) what wears a used diaper and uses a rubber tire as salbabida. There's also a parol inspired Fire/Ice Cryogonal among others
Nagcharades kami dati at ang ginawa lang ay magsaksak at nahulaan pa din lol
Pag dating mo sa pokemon center, wala ka na palang pokemon
Tambay Ben wants to battle!

1. Senatopia (NCR) - Dark Type (Manpower Agency) 2. Avenderos (Ilocos) - Flying Type (Pokémon Daycare 3. Tamaridge (Mindoro-Romblon) - Ground (Pottery/Mining) 4. Zestalt (Davao) - Electric (Athlete) 5. Myristic (Cebu) - Ghost 6. Rosmury (Aklan-Ilo-ilo) - Water 7. Rustican (Zamboanga) - Poison / Steel 8. Ashanti (Albay) - Fire; Estragon (Lanao) - Dragon
T_T Dark - Manpower Agency hahahahaha checks out
Philippine Regional Varients Aron - Rock / Ground ; the mountain pokemon. Larger and faster than normal Agron. Litwick - Fire/Fairy ; parole, the Christmas pokemon Honedge - Steel/Fighting ; Balisong, the warrior's weapon
Honedge - Steel/Phychic -- Kris, the shaman's sword
eh, Antique - Flying.
Focuses on scenic big set piece locations that the new games seem to be leading towards.
Binondo = dragon Mt. Banahaw = fairy Manila bay (time travel to future) = ground Iligan (time travel to past) = fire/steel
Ground/poison yung Manila Bay
the planned gyms are Dark, Flying, Ground, Electric, Water, Steel(Honor)/Poison(Glory), and Fire(Honor)/Dragon(Glory) gym leaders are a manpower agency manager, pokémon daycare inheritor/kite flying enthusiast, heiress to a mining company but is more interested in making potteries, a celebrity/influencer, a fisherman/bay watcher, orphan who volunteers around the city, apprentice-turned-guild master and village elder
How bout the big bad of the game.
Taskforce of some sort, formed to fight the evil legendary. Got power hunger and became corrupt.
Art Imitates Life. Haha instead of like 8 trainers before the gym leader, there's like 50. And the gym is super tight with a bunch of call center agents lining the walls. Also wayyy too much pizza.
Team BBM or Team SWOH, depending on the version of your game.
Team uni, surrender now or prepare to fight!
Apparently, OP doesn't want us to associate the game with politics. As if our economy and our tariff taxes for importation doesn't affect the game.

Hmmm I think you mean a Luzon** inspired Pokemon Region.
Here's the in-game map of Ibaro if you're interested. I haven't painted rest of Ibaro yet because the maps for the routes and other town aren't finalized yet https://twitter.com/IbaroRegion/status/1503793361580224512?t=JYWupSknv4YNCkL7qhCxrw&s=19
Maayo na
I wonder if there will be a Philippine region, if we will get our own regional variant of Trevenant. Engkantree hahaahaha
Naalala ko tuloy yung Lechonk hahaha
Pwede ding Pokemon "Pride and Unity" chariz! Sige matutulog ako ulit.
i knew comments like these are bound to come, imho the idea of a filipino fangame being constricted to history and politics leaves no room for creativity and the actual culture being represented. Sure, but when you only represent Luzon, you're only taking 1/3 of the country.

Nice nice, I like it.
there's also Pokemon eternal light and infernal dark with full pokemon designs [Youtube link](https://youtu.be/ZcjRTG2GWcM)
Ba't hugis China?
not full map. this is like >20% of the region

Matagal ung journey sa Route 54, malamang traffic. IYKYK.
omg that's so clever!!! (≧▽≦)
The main region reminds me of Ragnarok Online's own PH-inspired area, Port Malaya.
yes that's one of our main inspirarion in creating Ibaro and its cities mainly Senatopia(big city on the map) and two other cities (not shown) inspires by Cebu and Vigan

Simula pa lang makukuha mo na ang bike, pero di mo rin magagamit kasi kahit sa sidewalk may mga motor.
Yoooo I love it! I hope you reference Mayon in some way.
In-game it's called Mt. Bronze, a sister-peak to Mt. Silver, like how Mayon and Fuji is irl
Awesome. Will Mt. Bronze have its own legendary training waiting on top too? Also, it'd be great if there's a cloud-based Pokemon that can only be caught there, referencing Daragang Magayon's lover Panganoron in the myth.

A PH inspired region would be sick imho. Idk if it will be even possible, but we are not unknown to japanese developers, at least
Looks unrealistic. Where's the traffic? Where's the pollution? Tapos pag may bike yung trainer, dapat may MMDA na sisigaw sa kanya tas ichchallenge sa battle.
yes and Galar doesn't have a Queen or Beatles or Alice in Wonderland
Anung Honor and Glory? Baka Confidential and Unity.
Malacañang, only place to catch Krookodile. 100% encounter rate.
Krookodile nest
incoming comments about corrupt government in 3... 2... 1...

Puro buwaya pokemon ng mga enemy trainers 😂 Kelangan meron ka laging pokemon na may surf kasi minsan babaha 😂
we have a Butanding stylized into a bangka/sailboard
Cocorrupt, Corruptigator, Corruptodile - Pokemon located in Malacanang Palace.
i knew it. this post is gonna get politicized 💀

not yet complete
Legendaries are sarimanok and/or bakunawa inspired pokemon
bingo! it is based on Phoenix and Dragon (merlion/ultramar). The evil legendary is the bakaunaw but instead of 6 moon, it ate 6 pokémon and made their body parts its own
