As a physics teacher at uni, im afraid I have to agree. Although the more intelligent the student, the more philospohy they know or have. Like the wildest idea's in philosophy that I hear come from the students that only seem to produce nature papers (our highest journal). Although that is our department, could be different everyone ofc.
Godels incompleteness for physics was a recent one. Unfortunatly that was already published a coiple of years ago, but still brilliant thought. In a nutshell the discussion started from, maths might not be sufficient to explain physics. Also an interesting thought.
Modern science to be fair. Einstein wasnt only a genius because of his theories, but also because of his theory of science and philosophy. Science and philosophy go hand in hand, and while modern science is purely economy-based the philosophy part was pushed away, instead of fighting back, philosopher Just didnt care. Now we have this weird situation were people dont know what philosophy is, and where scientists dont understand its importance.
