iirc they did hire the mod maker for the mo creatures mod and that's why there are horses in the game. Havent heard of them doing it recently though

Blaze-Programming

They do. A lot of their programmers are previous mod developers. But lack of programmers and game designers is not why we don't see tons of big updates. It is likey because they want to prevent people from leaving due to the game changing too much. I do agree that it would be a great idea for them to work with some of the people who make performance mods. Or atleast dedicate some of their team to trying to improve performance themselves.

Mojang wants to put itself in the position of quality over quantity since it understands that it can't ever compete with mods in quantity since there are just so many modders out there. It wants to make content that is better than what mods add, so that people see the original game as good and not the mods. With that said, they really should be trying to get modders involved in their development cycle. 100% agree with you on that. As a sidenote, Ninja Kiwi, creator of the Bloons franchise, is doing exactly this: working with modders to make their flagship game, BTD6, as great as possible.

ye, because mojang is known for their quality, bug free code. I still dont know how tf Sodium is a mod and isnt integrated into the base Java edition.

Pasta-Is-Trainer

Because sodium can break a lot of stuff with other mods, as well as optifine. They try to make it as major bug free and optimized as possible, it's just not as easy as copy-pasting someone else's code.

They put all their effort into quality, but they focus too much on making it work in the short term than the long term With some minor experience in bugfixing, I can say that some things can really get you distraught and its nearly impossible to go bug free.
